The standards to revise M1A2 SEPv3's armor NEED to be revised and calibrated

  • Yes; the available sources are enough to craft a well-educated estimation, as with ALL other classified modern MBTs.
  • No; unlike all other classified modern MBTs, M1A2 SEPv3 needs an official classified letter from GDLS signed by all 47 U.S Presidents

For years, thousands of players have been looking forward to the M1A2 SEPv3: the first Abrams variant for which improved hull armor is an undeniable, officially confirmed fact.

Yet this MBT, the latest crown jewel of the U.S. Army, is currently depicted by Gaijin in a miserably obsolete state on the Dev Server. Every report and attempt to have the tank revised has thus far been in vain because Gaijin claims that they do not contain “enough information”, even though the only additional information that could possibly be provided would be classified and illegal to obtain or use.

After all, we’re talking about a tank currently in active service, not one from the 1980s, not the 1990s, and not even the 2000s.

Given the circumstances, and by the same standards applied elsewhere in the game, Gaijin should take the information they have been given and produce a well-educated estimate, even if it is not 100% accurate- JUST AS THEY HAVE DONE WITH EVERY OTHER CLASSIFIED MODERN MBT.

Because ANY degree of additional accuracy would be INFINITELY better than simply leaving the tank with essentially the same hull protection as a 1979 Abrams and calling it a day because “there’s no official specific value.”

For reference, one of the best reports that have been rejected over “not enough info”;

they do truly amazing work

So basically we need to give them classified data that no one can have for them to even pass it to the devs?

yep ,They really hate US that match if it was Russian ,I wouldn’t even need to provide half as much info

I mean didn’t they add the t90m turret and relict with roughly the same kind of data to the American hull upgrade?

No, no; that’s what they want, for someone to report with classified data… so that they can reject it and refuse to fix it because “they can’t legally use that information”.

This is how they work;

Information is “not enough” until it becomes “too much”. There’s not a degree or amount that would satisfy their currently ABSURD standards.

Ahhh and then they can ban us so we can’t complain any more

Its pretty ridiculous how the community has to go back and forward with the devs just to get things implemented properly

yes and every single top tier tank got guess-estimation regardless of being correct or not, biased or not

here they are refusing to do the sindacally-minimal work for an end of the line tank that should rapresent the peak technological of one of the 3 Main nations of the game

Yet it has worse protection than a 1989 t72b lmao

Btw that moron community manager didn’t even bother to check past your second source

Oh, I get that you are angry, as so am I; but I believe we should avoid insults towards the staff members!

We don’t want the moderators to have a reason to storm in and delete our comments/lock the thread, after all. We need to voice our takes without losing our cool ^^

Ohh 100% tho it will trigger the revolution so ,I am fine with that.

How bout, instead of coping about gaijin staff following bug-reporting rules for once, you’d actually provide sources that include literally anything further than “was improved”?

This entire M1-Series hull armour thing is (and has been) just an absolute feverdream of uneducated slop and 50 reports proving absolutely nothing of value.

Like what are these double standards too? Complaining that they use estimates for other vehicles because that’s not okay but arguing they should do it for M1A2 SepV3 because thats now fine?
(Or just taking the worst examples imaginable and then copy & pasting them on reddit on mass in hopes of achieving some sort of change by lying to people about 2A7V armour)

What are we even doing at this point man…

we want gaijin to guess because nothing else can be done

Try looking for other sources that actually have any god dam info !!!

P.s There isnt cause its all Classified

Educated guess work is the only really chance we have.

1- There are various sources providing values, ranging from “35% improvement against kinetic threats” to even specific figures (600-700mm KE, if I recall correctly).

But because “they don’t specifically strictly mention it’s the in-service packages, they are rejected”. You see, they could guesstimate and assume the Swedish-tested armor packages were the ones implemented on the uparmored Leopards… but they can not guesstimate and assume that these proposed armor packages were the ones that were implemented on the officially confirmed to be improved variant.

2- Every modern and classified Top Tier tank has said educated guesstimates, because, guess what, they are CLASSIFIED, official 1:1 values are unavailable, and showing them would be ILLEGAL.

In any case, ANY estimation and improvement would be better and closer to reality than leaving it at 1979 levels.

Whether they go with the 35% figure, the 600mm number, the 700mm value, or guesstimate an average middle ground and call it a day at 550, it WILL be closer to reality than pretending that the U.S would still go around in 1979 hulls.
