And you’d find the J-10C being one of the poorer performing 14.0+, even worse than the F-15C GE despite having the “better missile”
also insane performance and radar for the time and the MICA
J-15Ts (and J-10C) issue isn’t only PL-12 being long in the tooth at this point it’s compounded by everything else, there isn’t a niche where it isn’t vastly outperformed by another aircraft (unless you look at a Hornet or somthin idk)
I have to say,i will choose 120d/r771 to have far range to shoot when im playing a large double-engines fighter. It means u can be a danger more far,and avoid being danger.Left more time to defensive maneuver,or just max reheat to let missiles left behind.
If youre getting shot down by 30km+ launches in top tier aircrafts (or any missile BRs aircrafts, really), issue isnt with neither aircrafts or missiles ;)
Considering the 16x16 matches, with each plane having +10 missiles you can’t physically notch all of them, coming from different angles, unless you play super passively but then you arrive to the battlefield either when your team is dead or the enemy team is dead, and you’ll be able to do little in both cases
Again, data doesnt support your theory. Statshark shows the most dominant top tier jet before the arrival of AESAphoons/SM2 was Rafale.
So what was the reason? Either A) literally everyone was too stupid to counter it for what, almost a year, or, hear me out, B) range wasnt the ultimate advantage.
I tried them and theres defo reason to bring them. I prefer PL-12s.
As for why, please kindly refer to my previous comments:
Notice I said it isnt the most important. It obvioulsy is an aspect to consider.
So all ur point is raffle?Along?just look back ,when raffle come what do it better than others.esa, 7º fov mica(only missile in game ,and speed like a alien)all this make it strong. And speed make the mica far, just less than 120c and 771
On raffle mica is not a short range missile as the raffle flying fast like aliens.Jsut less than771 and 120c.And 7º fov make mica see chaff less time. The esa also make it have hold the initiative .If u want to talk about ranger ,mig2000 or r77is a better point
Probably, I did like 3 matches in the J-15T, but it’s also true that stock it feels very anemic, it loses a lot of speed after notching.
Again, either you play super passively, or Rafales, Typhoons and Su-30SM2 will steal your chances at a good position, they’ll be already slinging missiles at you, missiles that will hardly hit considering they are launching them from like 50km, but by the time you are done notching they’ll have closed on you, you’ll be in a low energy state and they will kill you easily.
And considering the pl-12 don’t have a lot of range you have to get close to get kills, and getting close in this plane is already difficult considering you have only 48cm.
The Rafale’s high alittude performance is definetly an issue, and flying high and/or fast can certainly mitigate poorer range performance, but range remains one of the least important attributes at the moment because it is so simple to defend against.
As a result most kills actually occur in shorter ranges, sub 20km, and under those conditions, AMRAAM is one of the poorer performing missiles, despite its range.
Renzo did say earlier in this thread that engine mod made world of difference, id suggest waiting with passing the judgment until its spaded.
And thats exactly why was rafale so dominant. Because it could just sit in notch waiting for enemy to come closer and then attack from that notch without much trouble.
To this day im still salty about one 1v1 which started with me firing off AMRAAM at 40km and focusing down the rafale with 4 more missiles, last launched at 16km
If its average speed, then R-77-1 is one of the best
As for left over energy then yes, C5s have more than most, but also pull less than most, so it balances out quite a bit, especially given just how much AMRAAM are actually underperforming in that regard with 3 accepted reports regarding energy retention from 2+ years ago
