The radar of the J-15T is completely wrong and should be redone

The J-16 retains speed better and possibly accelerate faster due to the less draggy and lighter airframe

whats seems to be the reason?

PL12s/12As seem to stop being a threat beyond 20-25km so you have to get pretty close. However you are flying a plane the size of a small ship, it handles pretty badly from my experience for that range and you only have 48 countermeasures.

You either have to play it extremely passive, meaning that you will do nothing or barely anything most of the games. or you need to play it suicidally aggressive, meaning that you will often die doing nothing.

I mean while PL12A doesnt seem to be that much of an upgrade over PL12 on paper id expect it to perform at least on par; and from my experience with MKK that kind of shot should be entirely doable.

Flanker with more powerful engines and AESA radar should have no issue making such shot, no?

On a scale from premium Su30 to F-16C, where would you place that FM?

I’m sorry, but this doesn’t seem like an adequate way to prove that the J-15 actually has a different radar. Sure, the space may be larger, but the J-10C’s radar would still fit in this space.

Although I do agree that gaijin really didn’t treat the J-15T very well.

As it is right now it shouldn’t be 14.7 at all.

Just a small update, I might have gotten triggered enough to possible perhaps GE the engine modification and holy crap does that change the aircraft.

There are so many missiles in the air at top tier, add to this that without the engine mod even a small turn caused me to drop to below mach 1 means I wasn’t in a good launch position/speed often.

But yeah now with the engine mods 20-25km shots are more than doable.

Flight model as well. It went from “I want to take my car and crash into a tree at 100 km/h” to “hey this thing actually feels quite good to fly”.

lmao

weve all been there at one point or another

id assume its at least close or better than Su-33?

it better be, its another aircraft in chinese TT i actually want to play lol.

In fact,no

Why do you only consider the engine and not the aircraft itself?
The WS‑10B is indeed better than the WS‑10A, but the J‑15T is much heavier than the J‑11B.
In reality, the J‑15T is not faster than the J‑11B.

The PL‑12 on the MKK at BR 13.3 is very good,
but the PL‑12/A on the J‑15T at BR 14.7 feels mediocre at best, even poor.

At BR 14.7, the initial velocity given to the PL‑12A by Chinese aircraft makes the missile’s range seem as short as the R‑77 at BR 13.7.

I manually added 15,000 total impulse to the PL‑12A on StatShark.I also adjusted the relevant weight, increasing it from 198 kg to 214 kg.
Its performance was slightly worse than the R‑77‑1 — about 3 seconds slower to hit the same target under equal conditions.
This is the missile that top-tier Chinese aircraft really need.

I don’t know if the 120D can achieve its maximum in-game range under U.S. standards,
but at least under Chinese standards, the PL‑12A cannot reach the 120 km range claimed in the game.

I was trying to draw a comparison to plane ive actually flown, the Su-33, to have a baseline; and J-15T is both lighter and has better engines than Su-33.

Im still making my way towards the chinese flankers.

If I feel confident in making 30km shot against high alt target in MKK, such shot should ve logically possible in faster plane.

But I digress, as I said im still making my way towards chinese flankers so

Where are you at on the Chinese Air Force tech tree now?

The enemies the MKK has to face are clearly not that fast.
I’ve gotten multiple kills beyond 45 km in the J‑11B at 13.7.
However, in the J‑10C / J‑15T, I haven’t gotten a single kill beyond 30 km.

By contrast:
I’ve gotten plenty of kills over 50 km in the Su‑30SM / Su‑30SM2.
That’s because the SM/SM2’s radar can guide for much longer,
and the R‑77‑1 is also faster than the PL‑12.

MiG-15/17s?

Ive been stuck there for a while since I have yet to purchase enough aircrafts for progressing further and the past two SL lootbox events draines my bank lol.

How fast the enemy aircraft is has little bearing on how much speed i can imprint on the launched missile and how fast my missile is, no?

I fired at such range maybe once or twice in the past half a year. At that range usually even the zombers can dodge the missile, but thats just my personal preference, not an argument.

It is when your forced defensive because Rafale/Typhoon/SM2 are already in LEO 1 min into the game launching much better missiles

Thats gameflow/positioning issue.

If you want to argue that J-15T being comparatively slower and as such it has harder time getting that positioning, sure.

Id take PL-12 over AMRAAMs any day lol.

What a heartbreaking “bank heist”, lol.

If you’re fast enough, you can even outrun missiles without firing chaff—like the F‑15E/C, Typhoon, and Rafale at high speed.
That’s why I believe speed is life in top-tier combat.

Sure it’s better at running up to someone and shotgunning them off-boresight

good luck with that

Indeed.

Id be at J-7E by now otherwise. But now the SL lootboxes are over so I can get on grinding. Cant wait to try it out.

Sure, I agree - but I still stand by what I said. Enemy speed has no direct bearing on my ability to launch missile succesfully at 30km. It hinges entirely on the performance of plane im flying and the missile itself.

Up until AESA typhoons/SM2 the rafale was the best performing plane by a long shot, and MICAs have nowhere near AMRAAMs range.

If range was the most important aspect, Rafale wouldnt be on top of the leaderboards.

If it wasn’t an aspect then why did Russia need the 77-1

this is stupid

Dont ask me lol

If i wasnt on mobile id simply pull up statshark vehicle leaderboards.

Data doesnt lie.

Rafale was the best performer up until AESA typhoons/SM2.

Plane with relatively no range but best pulling missile.

You are welcome to show data proving otherwise.
