And you have zero games in it.
This is not some clever zinger when I already said what I said was just my opinion (one of which is based PARTIALLY on what the sikh guy himself has said about the aircraft…) and that the opposite person has 1 entire whole game…
1 game and a hour in test flight, also its not just me with this oppion, watch DEFYNs video on it, he calls it a slightly better f84 and rips on it.
Agree. The Marut at 9.0 is an absolute boat. I would rather fly the Hunter, MiG 15 or G.91 at 9.0 than the Marut. I cannot understand why they did not add the reheat prototype or even the proposed RD-9 engined one as the event aircraft, those would have made the aircraft a better fit for the type of air combat in WT than this underpowered light attacker.
Its deffiently the worst 9.0 ATM in the game, A32A/J29F and FFA-P16 all are better in someway and so can play off those strengths.
Dont be surprised if a mod locks your thread btw, mine was locked and with the comment to “use the official thread” on this exact subject with a poll showing a majority support for 8.3/7 BR.
But yeah, its BR could come down, especially so for GRB in my view.
as soon as i saw what plane was coming I know it would be DOA because it would be overtiered.
Its worse than a Scimitar and that thing is 8.7, hasn’t got any guided munition either so should be 8.3
it would still be rough at the same BR as vampire, a 1943 plane
There is an argument for that, as in an uptier it’s too slow and too unmanoeuvrable, and in a downtier it’s just even more unmanoeuvrable, even if it can catch the odd enemy. And as for the guns, they are good, but equally useless as the rest of the jet because you just don’t have the nose authority to aim. In my games with the jet before I gave up on it, I only got 2 kills, both of which I just got lucky and managed to trade in a frontal. I didn’t even survive the kill, and that was me getting lucky! I have to ask what Gaijin thought they were doing with its BR.
I GEed it because it was unique, but I have been very disappointed with it as the most unique thing about it is how incredibly awful it is. For its BR, it has a decidedly average subsonic top speed, poor acceleration, okayish ordinance load, terrible energy retention, awful manoeuvrability, no guided munitions of any variety, no RWR, no radar, no ballistics computer and no countermeasures; all while facing supersonic, afterburning jets with AAMs who are more manoeuvrable than you, have radar, ballistics computers and possibly even primitive air to ground missiles. Oh and just to top it off its fuel selection and timing is bugged, but I can’t even be bothered to report that as the aircraft is so hopeless to begin with. They seem to have made a habit of doing over BRed strike aircraft as event vehicles (starting with the Jaguar IS, which I earned) even since they brought in different BRs for different game modes. For some reason they only put the strike aircraft up in ground, not down in air even though many of them need it. I can’t understand their logic.
You know things are bad when 2 air specialist War Thunder YouTubers agree on the pitiful state of the aircraft.
Maybe, but I am certain that (being a strike aircraft) it is more usable in ground than air, even if it is still terrible.
Sadly not so much, no smart weapons, no rwr, no flares, going to be facing constant uptiers in that BR zone vs SAM systems and proxy fuse SPAA.
Going to be rough I think.
Clarksooonnnn!!!
Fair enough, then they need to significantly drop its BR in both. Down to 8.3 at least I’d say, given the Scimitar is 8.7 with bullpups and better flight performance. The only thing that the HF-24 has on it is 2 seconds shorter turn time in optimal conditions that it can’t use because of its energy bleed; and an airspawn it arguably is negatively impacted by due to the fact that it is so slow accelerating that by the time it gets enough speed to climb well and take advantage of its position, the enemy has already out climbed you as you only had half as much space to accelerate as fighters do starting further back on the runway.
Heck, how is the Hunter F1 at 9.0? Its performance is worse than the Marut’s, and it’s a fighter! Even the Sea Vixen which is decidedly situational at 9.0 has Red Tops and Bullpups, as well as a radar, RWR, a better turn time than all other compared aircraft, good acceleration at any speed, and a better top speed than the Hunter, with the same climb rate. At 8.7 the Scimtar has better speed and climb rate than all of the 9.0s, with AIM-9Bs and Bullpups. So if the Marut needs to go down to 8.3 at least, surely so too does the Hunter (assuming it has better energy retention and acceleration). Gaijin seriously needs to start thinking about their balancing in more than just top tier, because that is not what everyone ends up playing the most.
What! The Hunter F6 is hardly any better than the Scimitar at a full BR higher! How?
To answer that, the age old problem war thunder often faces.
Gaijin nerf/powercreep planes.
Nobody plays said plane due to it.
The few who do play it are usually experts at playing it.
Gaijin get no data on plane needing to be adjusted.
Gaijin dont adjust plane.
Well then, it’s time they change their approach. All they need do to get the data they need is read the stats they gave the aircraft. How hard can that be? Also a little BR decompression wouldn’t hurt either, though I do understand that there has to be the jump to supersonic jets with radar guided missiles at some point, they could just fine tune it better.
This still doesn’t explain why they would add the HF-24 - a new event vehicle - in a place where it has effectively already been powercreeped before being added, so in the most literal sense dead on arrival. What did they expect from the player base who earned/bought it? Us not to complain? Especially when they seem to have made a habit of this, even at top tier, and are apparently making absolutely zero effort to do anything about it. They are just ignoring player feedback and frustration for them repeating their same mistakes over and over again. How long until they acknowledge the problem? What do we have to do to get them to listen?
Good solution, now tell the devs that.
Do you know if these discussions get passed to the devs, or do you need to submit a formal suggestion?
