The multipath should be deleted

ever heard of top down BVR isnt the only think f-15 can be useful at so your saying something like a su30SM2 is bad because JAS39E exist

Top down mitigates MP, it doesnt remove it.

Let alone instances like SAMs where you literally cannot utelise top down.

Su-30SM2 beats the Gripen E in a dogfight…

“it literally is” what? Ahistorical? sure but your are ignoring my actual point so you can go on ahead an touch on that in your next reply.

Multipathing is not a guaranteed way to defeat a missile especially if they are just flying straight. but I agree that its not fair that you can’t use your main armament effectively too. I just think that there has to be a nuanced approach to multipathing because I do think it has a place in this game especially in ARB. As for it being boring that is subjective and I won’t argue with that because there is no true answer to what some will find boring and some won’t.

next your going to say b52H beats rafale in dogfight and f15 once again in cas can be used for top down AGM65

Multi-pathing is such a no-skill way of defeating AAMs and needs to go. But if they remove it, they need to give Rank VIII and higher aircraft stock chaff.

They literally market the game as historically accurate. THey dont, we all know they dont, but that is what they actually market the game as.

It defeats missiles at a far far higher rate than it should, even firing from high above the target down onto them will still often miss about 80% of the time due to MP.

And my opinion is that it should be set to a realistic level where data exists. Starting with the SAMs.

This would mean for aircraft an average alt of 30-40m, and SAMs about 0m.

That should be enough.

Multi-pathers cried and cried about MP being reduced from 100m to 60m and the game is waaaaaay healthier after the change than it ever was. They’ll do the same again when MP reduced again, and then, like they did before, learn how to defend using other methods. Having a maximum altitude of 100m for like 2years was the most boring time in war thunder ever. It sucked, If I wanted to be that low, id play tanks in GRB, not planes in ARB

R27ET1 and pl8B , aim9M , AMM-3, r-73 , the list is pretty large of how to easily defeat multipathing and terrain masking nothing will be removed just because players don’t like it because they cant spamm garrentied missile bus BVR

I think they should just go head with historical multipathing like you described but only for realistic and simulator battles that way people who don’t like it can go to arcade and have that type of experience there. Also hopefully they add more bigger maps where players can spread out.

I am not sure what the audience is for this game, I believe it is more of a casual game and not a sim and think most player look for a balance approach from gaijin. Like we have seen with many things to do with the game gaijin does say it has the liberty to model and implement things the way they want to and will gladly bend the historical/ realistic statement to fit what ever they are doing.

Flares? Also, planes that don’t have good IR missiles are at a disadvantage. The Rafale is a good example right now the Magic 2 is terrible with bad IRCCM and no range and isn’t really worth using over the MICA. And when it comes to killing things like nukes in RBNE, you really can’t do much to the MiG-29 and F-16 are faster than the Rafale on the deck, so they can just outrun you. Or They need to add NG IR AAMs, or remove multi-pathing and give Rank VIII aircraft stock chaff.

Sure, no issue with having different MP heights in different gamemodes.

But RB is waaaay too arcadey of late, and I would like to see things change to make it less so.

Like for example:

  • Removing the arrestor wires from the runways, or at least modeling their max weight and speed limits properly
  • Removing enemy markers, so that greater emphasis is on using the radar and other sensors to locate targets, not just the magical markers that mean you dont even really need to use them

Let alone SB, which should be the most “realistic” of them all having the same MP height.

Yeah we can only hope, I think though you are right about it becoming arcadey but I also think it is more to do with it being a relic from the old days of war thunder and things not being updated adequately. Yeah the arrestor wires are confusing to me, why not just make the runway a bit longer?

In 99% of instances, they are more than long enough. Only exception might be for some of the bigger bombers, which dont even have hooks.

The point i think was to make landing as quick and effortless as possible, so that people could get back airbourne super fast.

I dont even bother with reverse thrust anymore for the Tonka for example, because its just faster to land using the emergency arrestor hook

using rafale as an example is funny because it has mica em that pulls 50gs replacing the need for anything else

then go play sim or bullet hell

ok and we are talking about IR AAMs? What is 50Gs on mica going to do about a nuke flying at 40Ms?

a flying nuke what? 50Gs means it can obliterate anything from top down or very close ranges and makes it un dodgeable

Nuke thunder planes

nuke thunder planes??

You might be a brick.

i wish i could but… you know…
