The ItO 90M being the new airfield AA was a terrible idea

I’m going to offer an alternative solution of a timer on airfield AA that gives you enough time to land, rearm and take off again this could be achieved by I’d say a 2 minute timer that is paused while you are actively being repaired/reamed and continues again as soon as you are respawned on the runway.

Another limit could be that it is only activated once per player per match.

I think all this gets fixed with proper AA for proper BR…BUT!!! No matter the BR, the defended Airfield should not just be a speed walk to free kills…the AA should also not extend out to unrealistic death bubbles based on the AAs capabilities!

Furthermore ARB…needs to advance into a Pv “E” vP and not be 98% Air to Air! Bigger Maps, Better objectives ext ext

i think it’s fair for a player to have some opportunity to rearm. but it should also be fair for a skilled attacker to be able to sneak by or for a prepared attacker to destroy the AA ahead of time.

which Battle Ratings can face Crotales as airfield AA anyways? is there a way to check?

Doesn’t work on the ITO’s they’ve taken me out every single time no matter what I do at ranges of up to 10KM from the runway, somehow an invisible missile will blow the legs off me. Corkscrewing etc doesn’t work .

Back to waht it was a while ago when folks just sat above runways again and let the game play itself

Sometimes. I’ve noticed on many occasions where they didn’t seem to bothered MP and chaffs, and plus the 40m tall trees, 90% of chance u die when u try to approach it unless the airfield is on a hill or plateau.

Same. Neither do MP or chaff, not even the least extent. NVM 99% people who needs those don’t have it. If u are at ARH BR range, u can kill outside of 20km, and otherwise u are absolutely dead.

Also just saying, having been shot by a roland in a ME262, this ain’t fair.

We don’t even need to have Airfield AA in some tiers.
This would hopefully stop people brainlessly slinging off missiles for a 0.018% chance of a kill, as conserving your load would now be much more important.

There’s don’t chase and then theres some guy sat in a J8 doing donuts around the air field prolonging the game.
As well as the things having near 14km ranges mate, it absolutely is not necessary, it should function for a limited period allowing landing and rearming and that is it.
Not work as a near impenetrable death sphere.

It would actually stop folks doing that to be fair. F14s can still just shoot up, sling off 6 missiles, dive back down before anyone is really within range. then circle the runway until the game wins itself.

It’s funny this debate comes up almost two or three times a year , due to either over buffing the airfield like RN or over nerfing them.
Could all be avoided with a simple timer, once you are within your air fields defense range, you’ve got say 3 mins to land, re arm and take off again or it’ll stop defending you.

Yes, this complete immunity to enemies at your airfield just incentivize players to sling off missiles as fast as possible and go back to rearm. It’s pretty much a dumb gameplay loop.

I mainly play air sim and it is absolutely necessary. with rolands people just climbed to 10km alt and waited for someone to spawn and then dove down.

The air sim I played which was F1 200 VS F18s no one really came near air fields bar when the match was nearly over.

they are definitely not that necessary unless you are abusing the runway.

Ah yes the old go ground strike for 10 minutes in something like a mig29 which has only 200 rounds and has basically no effective ground strike capabilites.
Not everyones cruising around in planes which can carry huge amounts of odrinance.

Ticket bleed says yes, as it got changed almost what a year ago?
The ticket bleed system now means they can effectively circle the runway for longer.

As it has to be player interaction destroying grouund units to cause a bleed. Which means if I go and switch out to a ground loadout, the dude who has been floatin around his runway like a turd in a toilet is going to come back from behind me, with a long range A2A loadout and smoke me before I can land.

So no, it’s not that simple at all. Especially not for ARB .

As well as air spawns in all ARB maps man it feels deliberate as heck to do all this.

Been suggested for years at this point.

C’mon dude, you can’t even get within 14km of an airfield , which means they can land , re-arm and then Fire at you from a safety net, all the while you tell us to ground strike, we cannot feesibly do both, you can’t take ground loadouts and defend from a person who’m has chose to go full A2A without being at an inherent disadvantage.

Irregardless of “letting teammates do it” they don’t / wont do it.

Then dont go near the airfield, i don´t get you point. The only reason i see you want it to be nerfed is so you can kill players taking of or landing, As if they are in the range of the AA you almost guaranteed already have an energy advantage.

Wow, AF campers must be delighted. Why bother with reversals. Just stay around AF AAA, and get unlimited free reversals with option of AAA killing the enemy for you.
An abhorrent idea, but it’s typical Gaijin.
I love getting curbstomped by Roland while trying to chase enemy jets in goddamn Ta-152H.
Hope they bring ItO to lower tiers and place it around map middle also, but only for 1 team and make them face 4.3 props - just like Gaijin did at 1 point with m163 hunting mid WW2 aircraft - 1 team was getting their sh… kicked in by mid map Vietnam era radar guided SPAAs, other team faced M19s that couldn’t hit a barn 10m in front of them. Good not-so-old times.
