Generally, I would love to se S-400 and Patriots defending airfields, so we have the real protected AF experience, and 100% fair - both teams spawn and get instantly destroyed by SAMs. It would be very balanced and exciting. It would be especially beneficial to 6.0-6.7 range as Rolands don’t give off enough of the late WW2 vibe.

Anyway, AF AAA death bubble is not a solution. Air RB generally sucks from design standpoint. As much as Ground RB sucks with its “CAS and spawn-camping 120s into the match” - you basically drive out of spawn and insta-die if you don’t know the map, bmost of the map is an instant death zone from the very beginning.

So you’re on their side of the map, already been fighting, they flee or drag you a bit to within that 14km range.
They inherently now have that advantage.
As well as this they can actively land, re arm and take your 6 before you can even make it back to rearm, unless you’re in the fastest of planes.

Btw my complaint isnt that they put poweful aa on the base…my issue is it’s absolutely impossible to dodge it as it’s over performing massively.

Btw I’m pretty sure proxy fuse doesn’t work on saclos spaas if youre below 25m so that’s how I do my sneakups on air fields.
Personally I think it was needed for air sim, but air rb they could’ve gotten away with someone like an osa akm instead of the ito 90m

It’s already a problem at other tiers. In fact, it’s even an issue in Air Sim (which you play) where people will routinely run back to the airfield when they see your countermeasure key is actually bound.

Fortunately Air Sim still uses the Rolands so you can escape them reliably, but it’s a massive issue that someone can become practically immune to you while still in flight and in the fight.

I don’t think he realises the ITOs are absolute menaces rn and can and will shoot you down out to about 12km
I’m no slouch at dodging missiles but they even fire straight up when you’re almost 12km above them.
Someone can circle tbeir runway, or land and take off and effectively engage you without you being able to even hold a lock and launch unless its an arh missile to retaliate.
