The F-104S ASA problem

So with the recent br changes having come into affect the F-16A was reduced in br in which it now sits comfortably at 12.3 but at 12.0 sits the in my opinion pretty sad F-104S ASA whose only real gimmick now is going quite fast but not much else seeing as all aspect ir missles become quite prevelant around the br

What can be done to fix the F-104S ASA main problem some may ask
pretty simple reduce its br to say 11.7 or 11.3 in which it becomes a bit more usable with its 9Ls being a not so common sighting
or br decompression (highly unlikely)

This plane should be 11.3, and I’m going to compare it with J8B which’s also 11.3. The main reason I choose to talk about J8B is that they both have 2 aspide-1A SARH MSLs.

  • F104 ASA has a most useless RWR(only make noisy, without any direction), while J8B’s can tell you a direction.
  • F104 ASA has AIM-9L IR MSLs(all aspects), while J8B has only pl5b(not all aspects).
  • F104 ASA has worse flying performance than J8B.

I forget about their radar, but i remember ASA has only 4km ACM SRC, which makes it really hard to use.

That is reasonable. Considering that F-104 has next to no manouverbility and has to loose the gun to carry Aspides, J-8B more than makes up for lack of all aspect IR missiles with being actually able to turn and not having to drop the gun.

In general there are problems with the Starfighters BR in War Thunder. Like why is the chinese F-104G in 10.7 while the japanese one is in 10.3. both don’t have flares but the japanese one has 2 more missiles. The ASA should go to 11.7 because else we have to move almost every other F-104 at least 0.3 down. But even better is that we didn’t have to face Fox-3 anymore

Based on the BRs of comparable planes (such as the J-8B), it could be 11.3 without any issues in my opinion.

Anyway, I think the F-104 deserves 11.7 or even 11.3.

Lack of RWR and the flight performance is really bad.

Missile is nothing special. J-8B at 11.3 have this.

Other one was mine lol. Yeah, i think the F-104s.ASA could be slapped at 11.7. 11.3 im not so sure about as 9ls on an f104 is pretty strong and the f104s is sat at 11.3 (although if it deserves that br is a whole other issue when the f4e is sat at 11.3). Its a shame the F-104s.ASA cant get 9ms as then it could sit at 12.0 and be okay.

I don’t think 9Ls fit better on 104 than say, F-5 at 11.0 with 9L (F-5A(G))

Im gonna get this thing moved up, keep getting positive games in it. Playing like a rat and coming in from the side really helps when facing premium players. Although, as soo as they see a radar lock they pop flares and chaff which gets annoying as my team loves to blast them as soon as i spot them.
