True, people wanting better weapons for CAS and having these new systems nerfed already just want to go back to the status quo of CAS having complete dominance again, these systems were introduced to swing back the balance in favor of ground players, and even then, CAS is still strong, people just don’t want to learn and adapt to new tactics.
Swinging balance in favor of any side of the pyramid isn’t the goal.
Balance between the 3 sides is the goal.
In all the time I’ve been on this forum Morvan has advocated for new weapons to bring the UK up to parity with other TT’s but he’s been balanced in his advocation for new ground systems and air.
There may be other players who just want to punish ground. But I think you may be looking at just one or two messages here and giving them more weight than they may deserve.

yeah but when the game also gave us the su-25sm3 than the player base would be ´´ i have seen an su25 with kh-38 and i have also readed a article where its says it can carry it `` then gaijin just added it without wishes. Its only a problem because NATO dosent exactly have a counter to this

I personally think that CAS is still totally viable. I’ve played the rafale Rand defeated multiple SLM and pantsuits, sometimes several at a time.
However, my biggest issue currently is that air spawn and airfields are still way to close to the battlefield. This is bad for 2 reasons :
- planes are still too close when spawning so they can effectively start killing people’s basically just after spawning
- airfields are still in the range of the Pantsir and SLM meaning that planes can barely go land, and simply can’t in some maps (like Sinai - big) since they are in view of the enemy SPAAs.
Moving spawns for planes further away would be beneficial for both ground players (since it would take more time for Air to start harassing them), and for Air (since they could actually use airfields)
CAS was ruining tanks in top tiers :-)
As much as i might agree, point 1) and 2) are impossible to implement overnight and we have to wait for next patch.
Point 3) could be implemented tommorow, but we all know how gaijin is reluctant to decompress.
However what can be done instantly is to move both air and airfield spawn even further back.
This would give CAS initial “safe zone” so they could actually show their flying skills when approaching the battlefield AND top tier jets have the flight performance to cross the extra distance.
Pantsir isn’t hitting anyone farther than like 8km, you have to spawn in and fly straight for 10 seconds looking down tpod to get hit by it from airspawn. And pantsir was never killing anyone on their airfields like SLM is. SLM is so much better than every SPAA right now its not even funny.

nvm im just talking about of my ass again after watching the matawg video again. Its going below mach 1 at 20km but I swear it was much less than that.
SLM are hard countered by tanks.
So, just spawn a tank, kill SLM and then you can fly.

i was wondering what limited edition of pantsir you had that it only had 8km effective range.
Dunno im not hitting anyone farther than that in game that isn’t flying in a straight line. Had an old replay to look at but its gone, pretty sure its going below mach 1 at someone fired at the airspawn by the time it intercepts, and it does take ~12 seconds to get to them. Would have to play it again and then look at sensor view.

And that’s not relevant to my point. My point is that the Panstir can easily kill planes at their airfield when they have LoS because the effective range of the missile in these situation is bigger than the distance to the airfield
Not as much but was totally capable of it. The main difference with the SLM is that it can hit planes without needing line of sight, meaning it can do that on more maps and airfields

Pantsir is killing people on the airstrip, and its comparable to the SLM in effectiveness.

Don’t forget when CAS players told us that their planes killing our MBTs without us having a single chance to fight back was okay. The only way to “fight back” was when we died and spawned AAs.
Just let an AA kill you, spawn in your MBT and just kill it bro.

Yes, to capture the zones, which is why its called GRB.
But Tank battles in War Thunder have ALWAYS been marketed as a combined arms gamemode.
And with the current state of ARB and whether its even worth mentioning Heli PvE even exists its that bad. GRB is the only viable gamemode for many many types of aircraft.
So. I would suggest spawning SPAA if someone is in CAS. SPAA like the IRIS-T SLM definetly have an overwhelming advnatage against most, if not all CAS at the moment. Especially given its a fraction of the cost to spawn.
