Suggestion: Limit SLM to 2 Per Team + New 'Saviour of CAS' Badge

SLM and Pantsir SP cost should just be increased to 150, and double if you respawn just like any other vehicle, aswell as being moved to 13.0.

Yeah, thats definetly the other major issue with some of these new ones. Their relative performance is rather insane. A weak SPAA like the Otomatic or ADATS. Sure, that should be cheap. But an IRIS-T SLM costing 70 SP but to spawn in a fighter with no A2G at all costs 700 is kinda BS.

Aircraft can still fly low and fast, if anything SAM need a buff and Aster needs to be added asap because Russians are now slinging Kh38 from the runway (which is totally fair and good)
Also russian helis have sci-fi lasers which can blind an infinite amount of blind-resistant missiles with only two lasers, so maybe just use of one of those

I’d love to see CAS get new toys and SEAD become a thing. But the first thing that would require even before CAS buffs is the SPAA/AD units get modeled correctly and the kid gloves taken off their lethality.

Computer aided / lead computing gunsights, F&F missile seekers improved, fix the spotty radar modeling, fix the seeker head issues etc.

99.9% of CAS players are gonna hate to see how lethal AD can be against brain dead pilots.

and then the same can be done for CAS. I dont think people appreciated just how artifiically nerfed and restricted CAS is as well.

Like dont forget. The Typhoon should be slinging FnF Brimstones 2s from 60km away without even line of sight to an SPAA, but is artifiically limited to SAL - Brimstone 1s. And the Brimstone 2 was the weakest AGM the Typhoon ever equipped.

Sticking with the Typhoon as well, things like proper BOL modeling as that is designed to defeat missiles like the IRIS-T would be a decent boost too.

I’d almost say the opposite is true, it SUCKS when your team is down 4 players at the start or whatever because they spawned SPAA. It was really bad when the patch dropped.

I’d rather just see a grace period in matches that lasts ~3 minutes where you can’t spawn SPAA or Planes, and then add a UI element to the minimap that just shows if the other team has CAS up so you can make a somewhat informed decision to spawn SPAA if you see the other team has CAS up and your team currently has no SPAA.

Would also stop the extremely lame light tank cap rushes to spawn CAS in like 1 minute and shutdown a match or cripple the other team early if they don’t have first spawn SPAA. Which also has the side effect of making everyone they killed somtimes spawn SPAA then you team has a severe map control problem to contend with after the fact.

This is awful as it would make helicopter rocket rushers proliferant again, and drones would be able to scout the entire enemy team and have CAS up in just a few minutes. Also RWR is already a thing that informs pilots about what SPAA is active, I’m against restricting player choice and arcadedification of GRB.

As for arcadification, how is scouting and airstrike not the most arcadey things in grb at the moment?

But CAS is already currently overpowered.

If you want those things, SPAA/AD needs to be brought up to speed massively first, or we’re just getting back to the imbalanced and overpowered CAS that has only recently been somewhat checked.

People rallying to get IRIS-T nerfed already is hilarious, because obviously most people who are against it haven’t even played it, it’s so inconsistent and bugged, missiles that actually connect feel almost like a miracle. Any competent pilot can take an IRIS-T battery out, Kh-38 exists, rockets exists, GBU exists, the tools to take it out exist.

Most people moaning about it are lazy pilots that just want to YOLO fly in a straight line and spam space bar like before the update.

Because It is a video game in the end? But people who want it nerfed, limited in numbers or have its SP costs up just come off to me as salty and lazy, Pantsir was allowed to dominate for years, not even a month in, and we already have outrage to get the German milk truck nerfed.

And I can understand why, but blame Gaijin for making ground maps so small, this is what happens when you introduce weaponry to a game mode that hasn’t been updated in over a decade, GRB maps are obsolete and unfit for modern warfare, so leave to Gaijin to fix that, it’s not the IRIS-T SLM that’s broken, maps in general are too small.

Wasn’t asking for it to be nerfed, I played it, think its pretty good but the only thing I have to compare it to is the pantsir. I just don’t like CAS rushes with light vics, and I don’t like when my team is at a huge disadvantage at the start of the game because 3-4 of them decided to spawn SPAA that can’t help contest caps or take space.

Maybe at the start of the update, but I rarely see 1 or 2 people who spawn these new SPAA. Again, I’m against restricting player choice, you just gotta work around it or leave the match, there is no other way sadly. It’s just crappy to restrict a player who worked for hundred of hours and grinded 410k RP to have a “YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SPAWN THIS VEHICLE AT THIS TIME” warning at the start of a match.

Honestly, if there were indicators for whether an aircraft is spawn (and if it’s heli or plane) and if SPAA is spawned (and if it’s gun, SAM, or both) would solve a lot of frustration issues.

A lore explanation could be AWACS and scout drones reported on enemy aircraft and aircraft defenses.

I don’t have RWR in ground vics or the selection screen. And you aren’t getting air call outs all the time or especially when its just 8km+ AGM slingers.

The idea behind the UI telling you if planes were spawned is so if you were playing ground vics maybe you find cover or look up, or if you are deciding to spawn a tank or SPAA you had a bit more info. Could also tell you how many spaa are up on your team so you aren’t flooding the match with them when you don’t need to, people are lazy and don’t look at the scoreboard and it shows. IDK how many times preupdate my team would have like 2 pantsir up and my team decides to spam more spaa and we lose hard after that (maybe it wouldn’t make a huge difference but still).

That’s just handholdy gameplay, the kill feed and your awareness and that of your team should help you get your bearings on the situation, if you see someone die to an AGM, then get to cover and call it out with the radio commands, it’s part of the game 🤷

and if half your team is spawning SPAA mid-game then it’s quite over frankly, besides SPAA can make for great comeback vehicles, at least the ones that have guns.
