Su-39 Current BR is unbearable ( 11.7 )

It does have Kh-29TE TV guided version two of them. they can easily be dodged using building cover or smoke cover.

They do, they still have more chance even, Since the IRCCM again directed backwards and the IR spaa missiles will attack you frontally or sideways which The IRCCM wont stop them anyway even if they shot you from behind without flaring.

Please dont assume, Read the primary thread subject before replying which will provide more info about what we talking specifically. So we can have a more detailed replies.

They’re TV guided not IR is the drawback. Major difference especially in night battles and bad weather. TV guided require more time and care before launching.

I didn’t assume, your forum is talking about GRB and IRST but in the conversation you’re bringing up AIM9Ls and air to air stuff that threw me off to why it was brought up. When I said IR guided missiles I was talking Air to Ground but you thought I was talking Air to Air.

And what is OP in that exactly?

That is literally what i am talking about, Its not too much OP.

You literally said “I am assuming” here

Because it also meet the AIM9L in the same BR and the AIM9L is not a problem anyway we speak about the more advanced IR missiles versions with IRCCM.

You did not specify, U said here:

You did not mention in the first message which type of missile it was if it was Air to ground or air to air.

Not to get into semantics here but your forum is about GRB 11.3 → 11.7. Therefore my assumption of the conversation and expectation is that when I say “IR missiles” one can assume I’m talking Air 2 Ground and not Air 2 Air. When I said my assumption is GRB and you say don’t assume read but my assumption is GRB which makes sense in terms of not having to explain when I’m saying something I’m only speaking in regards to GRB and not ARB.

Anyways…

There is nothing OP about it, I’m simply saying it doesn’t have BR 11.7 missile capabilities so there is another reason it got moved up unrelated to armament.

We’re not talking Aim 9Ls here or Aim 9Ms it’s specific Ground vs Air. Why? Gajin doesn’t base GRB BRs on aircraft due to their A2A (Air to Air) capabilities but more heavily due to their A2G (Air to Ground) capabilities. You will easily be up against 120As and 120Cs in GRB simply because GRB doesn’t care about ARB BR restrictions.

Looking at the SU-39 from an A2G aspect ignoring anything to do with A2A, the IRCM can deflect a majority of SPAA at 11.3 and lower.

From the big 3 aspect the only SPAA you will see capable of shooting you reliable with IRCM is the ADATS at and FlakRakRad 11.7. The rest below that easily countered since Roland is a joke if you just fly 45 degrees or more and the strelas biggest advantage is being small.

So I’m saying, “what could possibly be moving this up from 11.3 to 11.7” and the IRCM can deflect most IR missiles in a down tier. And in an uptier up to 12.3 you will at most go up against CLAWS, Tan-SAM Kai, etc.

Unless it’s somehow overperforming by Gajins metrics, I don’t see why it’s at 11.7 vs 11.3 unless Gajin saw the SPAA and vehicles were just not cutting it to stay at 11.3. Which I would agree with in terms of a downtier to 10.3 spaa.

We dont rely on assumptions brother, its very necessary of being specific for what a person is saying.

Let me Provide you of how the Forums posts work:

  1. Read the post. 2. Know its context. 3. provide a suitable reply that is clear, informative, and related to what is the primary subject is.

Yes, The reason that its the upgraded electronic suite, and expanded Weaponries.

Yes Exactly, And that is a BR compression problem which we also discussed, Its very likely that gaijin is going to do something about it in future.

The majority of the Spaa`s at 11.3 or below are flakrakpanzer, XM975, Stormer, Strela10M, Type 93, antalope, TOR-M1, MISTRAL, and OTOMATIC, OSA KM, ROLAND 1, Maghbet, and others, those can definitely face the SU-39 and Destroy it without problems there is no majority of SPAA that cannot face the Su-39 IRCCM SINCE ITS irccm ONLY DIRECT backward AGAIN, and again, All the engagements happen infront or sideways NOT backward AND EVEN if it launched backward their missile wont MISS it will HIT.

The majority of the SPAA`s are Either LOS missile guidance or Dual IR\dual-channel seeking Which wont get flared easily.

At the Current BR, And IN uptier it will meet IRIST and Advanced SAM which it will completely get destroyed.

Same answer above.

Possibly, but also Need a balance addition for so it can face those opponents in its BR RANGE equally.

That is insane compliment to average player. Especially at top tier. They are not that good even with vehicles that require minimum effort to use.

You should change altitude as well because it shuts seeker off and just keeps going in straight line to your supposed location.

They are beefier than strela, stinger or igla but they still dont have their actual iir capability modelled in game. Like buffed bombers, no elaborate dm rework, just cranked hp slider up. Hence why standart evasion tactics work on them (but require more precision).

5 km launches are what you need. Missile will hit just fine and lose less speed.

Didnt really understand what you mean by that. My point was that both harrier and su25t/39 are subsonics and launch their missiles with nearly same speed. But kh29t will reach its target much faster due to higher speed. And on top of that will have higher kill chance due to larger warhead.

No risk means no dead aa.

Because they utilize vertical launch and other guidance type. On top of that their missiles have no red missile marker for sam operator because they dont need one.

Still not as capable as su39. At the very least because it gets less munitions and they arent as reliable.

It was better than su25t in multiple ways. Essentially pay for better thingy at same br.

M as well, it doesnt lock in rear aspect and gets jammed. So you still need to wait till they show side/front aspect.
Afaik only irccm missiles on spaa ignore jammer.

It only works on aircraft missiles. You need to evade aa missiles just like any other plane unless its some stock chapparal.

Yeah, I should have been more specific, I meant referring to the Experienced SPAA players or such, Sorry for confusion brother.

Could you explain more specifically? why does it do that? I would love to read.

True, but they still do the job more reliably than an R-73.

Not quite, their missiles are supersonic, but their speed can add up with the plane carrier aircraft to gain more initial speed.

I do agree with you on the big Kh-29TE warhead that provides reliable destruction for enemy vehicles, But for the speed it does have high Acceleration ( initial speed ), but only for some time, after that it goes from supersonic to subsonic speed quickly due to the airdrag, weight, and gravity, And of course, the Constant Course Correction path for the missile to hit the target.

Yes, but that will be for some time after u get a couple of kills and they respawn with AA to avenge which is completely viable in an uptier, and the major difference that they will be IRIST or SPAAs With ARH missiles.

Vertical launch is for 360 degree targeting in all directions, which is an advantage for them taking onto account the thrust vectoring and Maneuverability and High acceleration speed, Which is a huge advantage against a subsonic strike aircraft that will Get hit from missiles lofting from above during the vertical firing.

Yup, Its not as capable as Su-39, But it gets 8 laser guided bombs, Or replace two of them for two IR or laser guided mavericks, They still something, Also gaijin Put the harrier At an unsuitable BR but that is for another topic.

Yes Definitely, The major difference is in electronic and weapons suite, But still the statement is: It meets SPAA with advanced IR\ARH missiles and aircrafts With ARH missiles that it cant do something about from such distances.

Yes, IRCCM missiles on SPAA Ignore IRCCM.

So you fly straight, and flare. When flare gets within aim9m seeker fov, seeker shuts off till flare disappears from its fov and goes to impact point based on its assumption that you still fly straight. So if you descend ascend or turn away, missile will miss because it thought you will fly straight and prepared to hit you at spot it predicted.
This is feature of all seeker shutoff irccm missiles.

I was comparing carriers speed, harrier and su39, both will launch their missiles from 800-1000 km/h. So nearly same initial speed.

You can see the difference in missile window. Even with those factors, su39 munitions just mog harrier munitions.

Yes, thats what every air player must anticipate considering aa can be spawned for basically free.

Actually 10 but as you can see in vid above, you will die by the time they reach the target. Same with las mavs. The only trump card harrier has is 6 gnss/laser bombs for gnss capability.

Nice, Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it.

Yes Correct.

Thanks for clarification.

Yup, While dont get me wrong, They also kind of free kills when come from behind.

Yes, I am pretty sure harrier is going to get a BR buff ( by like possibly 0.3 to 0.7 ) after BR compression?

That makes me wonder when the BR compression going to come.

Also btw:

I met the F15E like multiple times including Modern F16s.

I’m glad I’m not the only one.

I fixed the Thread to include GRB in the beginning. and tagged it as air. Or Lemme just tag it as GRB air
Update: nvm i kept it and mentioned it in the main thread description since there is no grb tag for me.

I met ef2000 in one of su25t games and its just better to notch their radar (so they dont see you) and hope they mind their own business till sm sv or s1 snipes them.

Same on harrier, trying to fight those premium su30 hordes fair is just asking to get killed, need to wait, hide and strike when they take off, land or are occupied by slinging kh29s. And of course hog some ground kills.

This will remain main way to survive on pre top tier jets until devs decompress brs.

Well I hate to be that guy, I think it might be you then. Killing a roland shouldn’t be that hard because you have both range, munition quantity and the ability to popup behind cover. Not only that Vikhrs can intercept majority of saclos spaa’s missile which makes it easy to go head on.

It’s the same reason why people think the ADATS is useless against kh38s

Well i typically ran into adats systems, whether it was the British one or the USA one.

I don’t usually carry Vikhirs, since you kind of have to put yourself in an awkward position to launch them, and have to maintain LOS.

Plus you get more range out of:

I’d rather launch 2 KH-29s
And 2 KH-25MLs.

Both are faster, except one give a laser ping.

But a lot, not all of the spaa players at top tier seemingly have a brain and just zap my munitions or skirt around them, (if I’m using Vikhirs) and hit me directly.

So no I wouldn’t say it’s me lol

Well you just explained why it’s you and not spaa.

Vikhrs don’t require much skill to use and it’s not awkward to use. All you need to do is have your belly facing the target as you fly by and the vikhrs will hit the target. the only real challenge comes when you do close popup attacks which require you to over-correct the missile to maneuver fast enough to hit the target. It is still not difficult to do though.

Assuming you’re saying that you carry 2 kh29 and 4 kh25 and you use them at far ranges, it is no surprise you struggle with it.

the MLs have the same disadvantages as vikhrs because they still require you going towards the enemy. If you are using it at far ranges rolands have the ability to shoot it down (although most do not because they are fast). Use it at medium range.

You’re purposely handicapping yourself from getting high kill games. 2 kh29, 16 vikhrs, and 2 kh25ml is what I used pre-harm. Assuming you play smart you can easily get around 8 kills easily.

Now with harm, I’m testing out kh31 (i-band), 16 vikhrs, and kh25 (multi-band). the kh31 is meant specifically for the adats as they pose the biggest threat. the kh25 is meant for weaker spaa.

If everything you struggle with is the fault of enemy players, than I think it’s you. Or at the very least it’s the limitations of playing on controller. If it’s controller, I think it’s fine but playing on controller shouldn’t be taken into consideration when it comes to balancing.

Usually fire them at 5 miles ranges. I bring HARM KH-25MPU, but I tried to fly it to see how it is.

Adats kept shooting down my AGMs…

My loadout was:

2x KH-29Te
2x KH-25MPU
16x Vikhirs
2x R-73
2x R-60M

Didn’t score an spaa kill, granted the game did end.
By the previous match the spaa had their radars off.

I think you might just have a lot of luck.

I can screen shot my loadouts and show you if you desire. I may have mis-spoken previously. Since I don’t really play top tier.
It’s not the greatest environment for a “jack of all trades” controller vs pin point accuracy aiming of M&K.
It’s do able don’t get me wrong, but extremely annoying.

Yes this was my load out typically pre HARM.

Trying to aim the weapons can be rather difficult.
I have a pretty good control scheme, however I should update it because now we can do “long presses” and “hold” to activate new keybinds which is very nice.

But constantly I have to change to more precise keybinds, then if I go play a bomber I have to swap over and over again.
It’s not like my sim vs rb setups.
They’re all br depend / vehicles dependent.

Like playing the bmds / bmp3 is annoying because the 100mm is labeled as the “special weapons”
However if I bind this to RB (normally the atgm button) it doesn’t really work as intended on all vehicles.
RT is the auto cannon .

Just to give an example of how wonky it can be.

That is incorrect, you can see vikhr reaching target faster.

I don’t see how.

KH-25s go Mach 2.5
KH-29s go Mach 2
And Vikhirs do 600m/s which is Mach 1.7
