Southeast Asian (ASEAN) Machinery Of War Discussion Thread

Many of my compatriots thought that “this must be a conspiracy by other players (such as Japanese or British) to gain access to this competitive country”, and I was thrilled at first. On the other hand, some of my friends claim that Singaporeans they know (which is credible, I checked) have not reacted much to this incident. However, when I came here, I saw extremely heated arguments. At first, the debate was rational, but then (including me) turned into mutual attacks. My first purpose is to get a good enough (like the A7HU is for Italy) 12.0 tank for China, and experiencing the Leopard 2 is not so important (I’ll still go for it if it’s possible, haha, don’t be offended).

Alright guys you’ll have to tone it down quite a bit…

  1. The forums are not the place to involve any political talk whatsoever.
  2. If you disagree with somebody there is no need to involve insults, simply agree to disagree and call it a day
  3. If you begin to have a personal discussion that goes off-topic you are free to PM each other.

I will look at the thread carefully and delete anything rule-breaking.

is Singapore the best choice for china as a subnation? i doubt it, High chance that pakistan would be the next subnation for china, now that japan as thailand and china is looking more and more to receive pakistan i guess israel will maybe receive singapore due to high relation between them and mutual export between the two country. and also bcs israel need a subnation.

WDYM ‘high relations’ between Israel and Singapore, the weapons at least are not related. I would think of Singapore as better to be the basis of brand new ASEAN tree or Chinese sub, cause both are Asian (a bit of a stretch but still better than Israel_ )

This thread is mainly used to talk/discuss about ASEAN vehicles. I wouldn’t continue this conversation since we’ve seen previously that it doesn’t lead anywhere.

Right, stopping now.

israel was the only country that respond to the call of the singaporian army to help them… israel helped them to elaborate their army. and btw if you look at the original forum post about singapore its placed in the israely tt for a reason.

Hello,

I just discovered a bunch of Myanmar’s domestic armored cars. Im trying to find more info right now to have a working proposal but Im hoping some of you guys know more about it - its the MAV IFV series:

I think aside from the MAV-1 which is only equipped with a 12.7mm HMG, the MAV series is equipped with a 20mm Hispano with the MAV-4 sporting a 40mm AGL as a secondary armament.

Theres also the ULARV-3 IFV prototype which was supposed to replace the BMP in Tatmadaw service but was instead defeated by the BTR-3 when they decided to procure that one instead back in 2012. Im not sure on the armament this brings though.

Additionally, there’s also vehicles based on the Tatmadaw’s domestic humvee variant which is the Naung Yoe utility vehicle - the MADV (Myanmar Air Defense Vehicle).

Also, unexpectedly, the Tatmadaw actually has the EE-9 Casacavel in its inventory, I think one was even recently captured by the rebels just recently.

It seems the Tatmadaw also has their own upgrade on the Belarussian Kvadrat, which is designated as the Kvadrat-M on a modernized 2K12 Kub (SA-6 Gainful) chassis with 9M38M1 or 9M317E missiles thats used on the Russian Buk-M1 and Buk-M2. Too bad, it seems like it needs to have its own separate radar unit though.

Pantsir for the Chinese tech tree???

Myanmar may not receive Pantsir. This was probably announced before the embargo. Russia was supposed to deliver Pantsir within 2023. Yet there are no signs of Pantsir in Myanmar.
