I feel like SK and NK are the most controversial future additions (or at least sk) in these forms.
evreybody has their own solution to this wether it be:
-A stand alone TT with NK and SK being shoved together.
-South Korea as a sub TT for USA or Japan
-Ww2 era SK vehicles going to US and Later vehicles going to Japan.
-Im probably forgetting one.
And now gaijin has mentioned the problility of SK going to USA. Initially I didn’t have a problem with this as Japan was likely to get a ASEAN SubTT, but now ASEAN is getting split up, which in turn results in the overall “Japanese” TT getting less vehicles. USA in itself gets so many vehicles compared to most TTs with the most vehicles in the future getting added, not to mention the possibilities of sub TTs it can get.
So with all of this I have to ask, why can’t Japan get South Korea and USSR get north Korea? Is it politics? But that can’t be since politics change, and the Japan and South Korean climate is starting to lighten up. Another thing seems to be the way sub TT get added, it’s neither political or geological as seen with various other sub TT announced.
Another issue is the general layout of sub TTs in warthunder, as they don’t really feel like there own TT. So in the future I hope gaijin will rework the layout and the way sub TT work, like for example once you clear a tank in the main TT, you get a RP discount on the sub TT corresponding rank. I’ll also post a picture of the layout I was thinking of-
So this is my proposal, no sub TT split between two countries as this will cause controversy with individual vehicles and future sub TTs. No North and south Korea combined tree as 1- North and south Korea really hasn’t been one country ( and just hate each other) 2- I absolutely do not want another Israel (the worst thing gaijin has ever done with TTs). No SK going to USA, as In general the US TT has a HUGE future ahead of it as for possible sub TTs ,and just domestic vehicles in general. As Ill reinstate again Japans ASEAN sub TT is getting cut up.
So I advocate for South Korea as a sub TT In Japans main tree.

As for this posts contents. For the korea’s. Eh. Just cause the usa is huge doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get a sub tt vehicles. Hell, half the vehicles the usa have made aren’t even in the tt yet even after years of people waiting for them. or being premium. (Cold war specifically)
Japan could use a few more vehicles as well to thicken up some br’s. (Hopefully not Copy/paste)
I’d say to just let usa and japan have access to the same SK national folder. Sense both generally have a good reason to have SK vehicles. (This would also keep all the vehicles under 1 nation instead of split between Tree’s. Poor Canada/Australia.)
True, there are other options if the snail decides in their great wisdom to implement them. But again, this doesn’t mean that vehicles from other countries cant go the the usa or to japan Sense id say both have about equal claim to at least a good portion of SK vehicles. (Going off of no subtree folders)
But anyhow, If we go by the subtree folder idea This becomes irreverent as both the usa and japanese could use these vehicles without splitting the tree or community. SK can be an actual nation, Fill some gaps in japan and add some diversity to the usa.
Some may use political issues as a way to discourage this. However realistically non of the 2 have anything to do with each other that’s why. South Korea and Japan have no military connection unlike the other subs in-game which have a military connection with the nation they are in.
If Gaijin decide not to make any new TT then a subtree is the only solution but it must be placed logically in the sense of both nation and sub must have or had some form of military connection.
North and South Korea should be its own thing (United Korean TT)as both parties offer a lot of unique/uniquely modified vehicles. Making them a sub tree would be a waste of potential as subtrees are limited, for example look at the current subtrees all of them have a max of 12-15 vehicles.
I rather have an TT with 100+ vehicles then have sub of 12-15 vehicles
and many would agree too.
As I exclaimed I’m fully against this. In fact I want Israel to turn back into a US sub TT, this would work well with my proposed layout, but I don’t think some Israel mains would be too happy with this.
And also sadly there are no ‘from independent tree to sub tree’ nation case.
Yeah Israel as sub tree of US would be a good choice for both nation but Gaijin made a choice, and not much nation left behind that would be a ‘useful’ sub tree to US. Korea and Qatar maybe?
honestly its kinda funny but for US tree to get very many unique vehicles they might need to get subtrees, because gaijin seems to only want to add US stuff if they can copy and paste it in at least 1 more tree
Well in my opinion we should get a “Korea” TT, with no separation between NK and SK. I dont think that we will see a lot of North Koreans complaining, and the South Koreans have no other choice if they do not want to see their country become a subtree for the US. There can’t be a perfect solution in this situation, since these two independent trees are too small to be realistic, sooooooo its the best compromise :)
What actually would be the issue with an United Korean TT though? It’s a better solution then making South Korea for example be in Japan (illogical option), of course the USA is also an option but it has a lot of option domestic options left.
Check the proposal both countries over a lot of unique domestic vehicles and unique modified foreign vehicles. Ground Tree for example has less then 25% copy n paste (mainly low tiers). However the Air Tree is underwhelming with many just being modified foreign aircraft (still unique though)
Here you go, the creator has also written information regarding each vehicle so you can read the differences between the modified and original (foreign) vehicle.
This has to be said, even though it is a separate issue, gaijin refuses to implement unique models and will use copypaste 95% of the time to make trees like this. That is an issue with their development though and not necessarily with the possibilities.
The proposed tree does not have a rank 1-2, which is very bad. This was problematic for Israel and doing it again is not a good idea to me.
That tree he gave is still majority copypaste until you hit later ranks. Then, while I’m not against adding variants, he fills out a lot of the later parts with repeat variants of the same tank.
