Sim community wishlist - small fixes/changes

Holy crap. I found one of these tricky naval attackers the other day in my stock AV-8C. I couldn’t even catch the damn thing to kill it. Just an endless rate fight that I couldn’t gain ground on.

Then when I had to turn back due to over-heating and low fuel, the damn thing almost killed me…

Hehe, yeah. In a harrier ii, you are nearly the same speed, espeically stock 🤣

or they can just implement dynamic repaircosts to sim aswell.
today i played hours of sim and ive noticed that dynamic repairs dont work in sim. you just pay full every spanw

Yeah we told you. Worse still ive seen it atleast twice where half of their circular flightpath is outside of the map.

This does seem unique to the Naval maps. On the land maps they fly pretty standard.

So i just came to the sudden realization of a major flaw in the current reward system for EC “useful actions”. Probably been discussed already but i havent thought about it before. Basically since theres a cap on reward but no cap on repair/spawn-costs, die enough times and it becomes impossible for you to make a profit in silver lions. Your better off just switching to another session. Ill show an example.

My JA37 costs 14,433 sl to spawn and is capped to 2,445 sl/min.

Payout cap comes in 15min intervals (right?)

So max reward for one is 15 * 2,445 = 36,675 sl

Say you die twice in one 15min period and youre at best +6,000 sl. Most likely is that you havnt filled your cap and your in the red. If you have premium youll get compensated for the differance and be left with 0 at match end. If you die three or four times? Well you might as well switch to another server because you will never break even.

yeah, it’s why most of the sim-community opposed its implementation in the first place. Probably the main reason why so many players left SB for good.

Yep. And thats after the recent economy buffs.

Buc S2 use to make around 25k per 15 mins but costed 33k to spawn. It was an easy way to go bankrupt. But its still not brilliant. Die too often, and you end up with 0. The new repair over time system simply doesnt work in SB

IL-2 and DCS. But VR is horrible in both and DCS requires you to bind everything for each plane separately, which I refuse to do.

Oh well i give up. Gajijn has abandoned sim a long time ago, whats the point

Hmmm, maybe not…. I’ve just come out of an EC on Zhengzhou and noticed one, maybe 2 encouraging signs:

  • AI Bombers behaved like they used to. Two formations of friendly bombers flew to an enemy base and bombed it (destroyed it) before returning to the friendly map edge. No stupid circles mid-map.

  • Bases may not be deathstars any more. While escorting some of those bombers home I got worried when I saw them head right over an enemy base (I saw an entire formation of friendly attackers get deleted in seconds a week or so ago). However, this time there was no flak from the base.

Perhaps it’s just Zhengzhou, but I do recall seeing bombers fly circles on this map just yesterday, so perhaps an actual fix? I spent the whole mission flying clean fighters, so didn’t try a low level run on a base, but I think I got close to some while covering various ground battles under the heavy cloud without getting shot up; I feel a low level attack would not have been suicidal.

Well the bomber circle doesnt happen for all bombers that spawn. I saw it yesterday so it definitely not fixed.

I feel like they circle when they’re shot at or engaged (even without being shot). But it’s also certain maps and there’s also maps which never seem to spawn any enemy bombers. I do think some have been changed because even when they circle the circle now migrates around a bit and doesn’t stay in the same exact spot.

I’d really like it if AI Bombers wouldn’t go at speeds that are impossible for their Aircraft.

Chased a formation of CL-13B in my F-16C yesterday and they were travelling above Mach 1.0. Barely managed to get to them at Mach 1.3.

‘Useful Action’ is basically the largest and most serious anti-abuse measure of summer 2021.
The purpose of which is to slow down Sim players from earning many SL.

I know that the word ‘anti-abuse measure’ is getting annoying :)
but that’s exactly what it is. Further measures included cutting user-created battles. the problems are known.

…you could read all of this in official articles from Stona_WT (But that’s not his fault) in August 2021. unfortunately I can’t provide any links as proof because it was the old forum. I don’t know if the old posts still exist somewhere.
