Hello! I think the russian high br tank, like T80UD, T72AV Turms, T80U-E1, T80UK, and all research able tank, is dont have too OP guns, or armors, to need this reverse speed, almost all nation can go over 30 km/h, but the russian tank, which is not heavys, only meds, all can reverse like 4, 5, 6 km/h. And IRL they can go reverse faster, like: T90M IRL rev.speed: abt 15 km/h, in game 6 km/h. T80 IRL can go over 20 km/h, ingame 4 km/h. But the Leopard get 31 km/h reverse speed. I think need a faster reverse speed for the russian tanks. Non of them is a heavy, all meds, IRL all go faster, and ingame they dont have too OP gun, or armor.

The reason why NATO tanks have decent reverse speeds is because they have them IRL, Soviet tanks dont. As general rule of thumb though, most soviet tanks are overperforming rather notably for various reasons and most NATO tanks are underperforming notably
(a key reason for this is many top tier NATO tanks have classified manuals whilst the T-Series tanks have mostly been declassified and so can be better modeled)

Pure design choice. If you research further latest modifications for the T-80BVM and T-90M features a better reverse speed. In game, all the vehicles, historically features from 4 km/h reverse speed to around 13 km/h if I’m not wrong.
