Remember Russia also gets the Pantsir.
Then increase Su-34 spawn cost. The campaing and steamrolling caused by the changes is far worse than CAS anyways.
This is not a good thing. It only serves to harm us tank mains.
It’s literally my most played tank. There’s plenty of ways to avoid being strafed. Though tbf most of my games were from 1-2 years ago.
Bro your M56 has negative kd, the reason you don’t die to CAS is because you often can’t even survive tank-to-tank encounters bro can’t die to CAS when you already dead by other stuff lol
Or not
The free AA is fine how it is
Yep, played it most 1-2 years ago. CAS deaths were pretty rare, although CAS flying overhead was very common.
The AA spam is bad but you can counter it with smart play my issue is now I will not put another single Rp into any AA tree for any nation again why should I if I have a half decent AA for free.
That is irrelevant to the state of CAS as a whole. I could ask you a similarly ridiculous question:
What is easier:
- Destroy 3 top tier SPAA with bombs
- Destroy 3 top tier SPAA frontally with a tank
Of course it is relevant because the difference is huge. The power of CAS comes from the ability to destroy a tank (like Tiger II H) without it being to fight back, not from having the same abilities as ground units. As long as You don’t get it, there is no point in further disucssion.
So if You have a problem with CAS, as air mains suggested spawn SPAA. Same should apply other way around: If You have a problem with SPAA, spawn a tank
I very much agree with opening up maps in general, but we also need better objectives to facilitate proper use of the entire map.
In my observation over the years (coming from when we had large maps for WW2 BRs that I dearly miss, such as normal-sized Maginot Line - I will never consider the lower-ranking version of that map to be anything but “arcade trash size”), large maps get hated on by average players because the cap zone objectives really do not translate well to larger maps when one team has significantly more fast tanks than the other. The slower units may take 5-10 min to get to a useful position, by which point all the caps have been taken by the team stacked with fast tanks, and those fast tanks have set up camp sites all around the map. Oh and then when they inevitably die, the slower guys then get asked to have another long drive likely to die to a bush with a gun barrel attached, which intensifies ongoing ODL issues.
Your response is absurd and doesn’t address any of my arguments in my original post. I could say “The power of tanks comes from the ability to destroy an SPAA (like Imp.Chaparral) without it being able to fight back, not from having the same abilities as air units.”
The tank doesn’t fight back. SPAA fights back. Besides, there are IFVs, APCs, and more. Pintle mount HMGs or autocannons are common. There are a high number of tanks with autotracking and HE-VT, giving them ability for anti-air role.
As long as you keep ignoring my main points and posting broad platitudes, there’s no point in discussion with you. Case in point (biased player perception of CAS balance) demonstrated by the number of people liking your comments, despite them lacking any substance.
Thats why i said simply opening the maps towards the heli spawn
Everything else stays the same spawn points
And the “enemies” gets shown on map should be extended from spawn point to Heli spawn Point
Ps on some maps the spawn Point is so Tiny that ai Players are getting killed for being outside the map if they not drive towards the Center of the map instantly
He quite literally highlighted points of your post and responded to them, please read.
I literally have no idea what you’re trying to say here? The main purpose of tanks is to fight other tanks. SPAA is only a thing in the game because of CAS, without CAS, SPAA wouldn’t exist (except maybe Gepard, XM246, plus all the other 35mm AA, and ZSU-57-2).
Again, what are you saying? In ground, you can’t spawn a plane as a first spawn, because the whole point of ground is ground combat. The tank doesn’t fight back against planes, yes, because it isn’t made to. This just goes back to what I was saying, SPAA only exists because of CAS.
AND AGAIN, I shouldn’t have to give up playing tanks to go play SPAA, because a player in CAS is absolutely dominating the battlefield. As it has already been said, ground game modes are objective based, and CAS can’t capture these objectives. They sure as hell can swing a game in one direction, but the point of a ground game mode shouldn’t be: Get enough points to spawn CAS and then swing the game in your favor. No, it should be: Players spawn in tanks and use tactics and team coordination to capture and hold the objectives for the longest amount of time to win the battle.
The number of likes on that guys post compared to yours shouldn’t demonstrate bias, it should demonstrate that the majority don’t agree with what you are saying.
All that does is make the SPAAG be able to forever hide from anything on the ground, thereby creating many more problems if they are particularly effective, which would make them practically unkillable.
Which maps are we talking about here? I know WT maps are not exactly big, but I have not even once observed a map so insanely small that this happens. Lack of space to hide bulky AA units, absolutely, but the death timer starting the moment you spawn in? I have literally never seen that once in my 10+ years playing this.
They should allow heli spawn for SPG/SPH for indirect fire, but we have already seen what they have said about indirect fire.
The one map i am sure it happend Isnt in the game anymore
It was the Central map of Novorossiysk
Between the City and port/railway yard
Just spawn a tank bro.
This is actually a valid tactic considering how easy is to reach behind enemy lines and just kill all those helpless AAs.
“The whole point of ground is for tank combat” is a reductive assumption. In reality, ground has always been mixed battles, with aircraft being in the very definition of that mode. Your entire argument relies on semantic nonsense with you trying to present your opinion as fact. Although you highlighted parts of my posts, your response has almost nothing to do with them.
European Province has some insane spots to get pretty much behind enemy spawn undetected.
In reality, air has been half-assedly implemented and simply isn’t needed for GRB games to play out.
The vast majority of SPAAG could be good tankbusters on par with most IFVs if they were un-nerfed and if they received their missing rounds. I hold the very contrarian opinion that due to WT’s gameplay, SPAAG literally need to be able to play “Ersatz TD” to be considered “effective,” at least until long-range guided munitions become a thing.
Thus I find it silly how every effective instance of an Ersatz TD gets fucked over. Current gameplay is begging for SPAAG to go that route, and then they get punished for doing so? Doesn’t matter if we’re talking Whirbelwind, Kugelblitz, ZSU-57/2, any 35mm Oerlikon, the Falcon, or others.
The problem in my eyes is not so much SPAAG themselves, but the bugs/bad features in the game they are able to exploit.
- Armor holes in the oldschool 2D plate armor model
- Server overload to glitch rounds through plates they shouldn’t be able to pen
- APHE postpen in general
- BARREL DAMAGE enabling any low-penetration vehicle to neutralize the ability of something they cannot frontally pen from being able to kill them.
They should all be tiered where they can reliably shred the side armor of most tanks they encounter beyond spitting distance.
Personally, I think unbarring CAS (and thereby also CAP) from first-spawn option status is probably the only long-term solution to CAS issues. Of course, forcing airfield start on all of it, removing separated helipads, and forcing helicopters to also start on the plane runway is mandatory to make that work.
If every person has all available tools to help themselves, then it is up to each given player whether they choose to counter the enemy CAS or sit back and complain hoping someone else does.
Tanks of course should be a major player in the Combined Arms RB mode, but at the same time CAS’s true potential is not being harnessed, and partly as a result tanks aren’t living up to their potential either.
The whole mode sorely lacks several classes of objectives for both, in addition to stuffing in arcadey nonsense like the kill camera and midair plane spawns which make using CAS as a cheap revenge cudgel far too easy.
