We have much better planes at 5.0 like J2M2 or I-225.
What can you do against I-225 on Bearcat? Nothing, only abuse the fact that you are faster at sea level to camp your AF
There’s better planes lower than it. Why should the F8F in particular go up?
It doesn’t have the qualities needed for a good ARB plane. Its turning capabilities are bad, its energy retention is bad, its firepower is bad.
Really, all that is does well is accelerate.
Just shoot it. It lacks the manuverability to dodge or fight back. Especially at high speeds with how quickly its rudder compresses.

in a dogfight you out turn 225 it doesnt turn well below 15K ft your engine power is unmatched you can use it effectively to out dogfight your opponents by using verticals

even if we exclude chronological reasons. F8F-1 should be obviously being higher than F6F-5N.
F8F-1 staying lower BR than Seafire LF Mk.3 is a crime.

even if it does it out performs most 5.0s for example the FW190D-9 at 5.0 is almost near identical counter part only having better high alt performance at the cost of manuverbility and stronger guns

i could only think of 2 that could beat it off my head the MK 9 at 4.3 and the YAK-3 also 4.3 both can be countered by running to your team for assistance oh and i guess G2 since gun buff recently would also be a threat

That means that F8F is weaker than them if you cant win in a 1v1 situation
And they are at a lower BR! I would run away to my team on F8F even from Ki-44-2 from 3.7
And we also have clone premium version of this Ki-44 at 3.0…
So plane that supposed to be uptiered to 5.0 suffers against 3.0 plane???

How are you supposed to shoot an F8F that will not let you get close? It has the capability to control the distance from enemies however it likes, while gaining energy in the process.
Couple that with an extremely strong top speed, you can turn flying straight for 30 seconds into an uncontestable energy trap for any pursuer.
you dont bleed that much speed as them if you manage it its called energy management if you manage well you will win just dont hold S like a monkey thats not how you dogfight also even if thats true you have 500HP diffeernec or more over most enemys most 3.7s dont have more than 1300HP 4.3s like MK9 are around 1700HP your at 2900HP which gives a massive boost in acceleration allowing you to extend from the fight at will
