the 4.7 one? from facing it the plane seems competent, but USA pilots are a disservice to ALL the planes in that tree so it may well be a smidge undertiered for its performance. I havent played it so I cant say fully, i usually kill them quickly due to the pilot skill issue, tasty food for my spitfires hitsparkos.
Its free food to a spitfire if the spit can catch it (it wont) as its not really one for turnfighting it seems. American .50 cal API-T and m20 incendiary are also the only shell until mid cold war 30mms that actually does decent damage so it has that going for it at least

funny how you and pangolin still dont get that every plane is easy to fight if the pilot that flies it is absolute ass
and like i said before it doesnt need to win a turnfight to be better
and here we havethe reason why you had no problem killing it

Because, there is a way better version exist at 4.3BR, while Seafire LF Mk.3 is stuck at 5.0.

Itself isn’t bad, but just a mediocre plane if we consider she needs to fight against superprops in uptier, and there is a better plane, such as F8F-1 exist in downtier.
Somewhat kinda similar to G.55. Not bad, but there are better plane exist.
If you choose Spitfire Vc, then you can have twice the autocannons, just like how F4U-1C does
If you choose Spitfire IX, then you can have a better fuselage and flight characteristics, even in lower BR.
Especially when US Mains whom flying mustang or thunderbolts just digging the ground while A6M5-Ko climb up along with Ki-84/N1K/J2M, and being seriously outnumbered and outgunned on high ground.
If Seafire gave up altitude and stayed low, it would remain nothing but worse Yak or Zero because Spitfire series are staying somewhat kind of sweetspot between low-alt turnfighter and mid-alt BnZ.
But if Seafire climb up and tries to have high ground, not many players follow up, then they seriously get f-ed by japanese planes which they climbed up.

the guy i fought that was flying the F8F-1 was not a complete idiot and knew how to fly, he lost because F8F-1 sucks
it wasnt even close either, i was running circle around him and there was nothing he coulda done to win unless i literally let him win
US have like no turn fighter prop at all, 99% of their planes are only good for boom and zoom
and how do you know that?
oh you see that if you want to win in a US prop turnfighting isnt the right thing to do

if you really want to turnfight while playing US TT, you probably need to buy either A6M2(USA) the Akutan one, or Spitfire LF Mk.IX (USA)
both are sealed behind paywall.

cuz i was the one dog fighting him and u can usually tell by what they are doing
ill give u a quick example so u understand: I have more speed than the enemy so i pull up to stall him out, he knows what im doing and doesnt follow me.
It’s basic stuff like that - that’s how u tell the enemy have some experience
yea so u do know that US plane cant turn fight then why are u still saying that F8F-1 needs an uptier? It’s speed is nothing special, has 4 50 cal which is not outstanding, and like i said all it can do is boom and zoom

it’s not a “Game”, it’s dog fighting manoeuvre basics and some people still doesnt know, thats whats separating good and bad players apart
i have the plane but its not spaded so i cant prove if its fast on the deck or not, but even if it is, it still doesnt make it OP. Yea its anoying but thats about it. Ju 288 and Wyvern are anoying cuz they are fast and just run away when they want but that’s it, they are not winning a 1v1 in a turn fight
when u go in higher BR u will see more and more of these type of aircraft that can just outrun u, just learn to deal with them
So like every plane below 6.3? Yak-3U is just uncontested in its combination of speed, climb, turn and energy retention.

There is no such thing as a “superprop” - the common understanding of a superprop is a very late war allied fighter which was pimped with 115/130/150 octane fuel as the era for piston engines was over. And the Bearcat came long after the 262 and the Meteors.
The F8F-1 was designed to be a interceptor for combat altitudes usual in the Pacific - and had to be smaller and lighter to improve the lousy climb and top speed of Hellcats AND to be able to operate from escort carriers (which the Hellcat could not).
Seriously? You assess the quality of an aircraft as low because you flew a stock Yak-U in a full downtier vs a F8F-1?
This is nonsense - the 3.3 Hellcat is one of the best turnfighters at its BR and the P-36 G at 2.7 is a turnfight monster. Both have zero problems to win a turnfight vs any Yaks in their BR range.

When F8F-1B is usually considered as a superprop, it is a shame that Pangolin ashamed both F8F-1 and F8F-1B as non-superprop

most spitfire i face is still better than yak3u, it’s not uncontested
