You still have a chance of defending in from side aspect, if you cut AB and cover your plane with flares.
That happens simply because of the way the Aim9M deals with flares. In front and rear aspect its easier to fool.

No it does not.
the maximum altitude above the ground you need to make a sparrow miss is 20 meters.
For an r27er it has to be 10 meters on head on, unaffected if coming diagonally.
I dont know in what world you live in, but ive been able to ignore all SARHs coming at me in both Sim and RB by flying 50-60m off the ground.
You died to that ER because it splashed right under you, and you were within effective damage range

Also a fake statement. Enslaving the missile will solve this issue.
the aim9l will eat more flares than any other enslaved missile from 12.0 and beyond.
it splashed under me because it proxied on me, much as i have told here before that the splash damage and the proximity radius of the r27er will absolutely nullify the effects of multipath. Consider this is even above the water where a missile impact won’t cause any splash damage as it will sink unlike on the ground. An AIM7M can very well proxy in this same scenario and leave a yellow wing or a dead engine, but it doesn’t happen. Ask yourself why.

I call bullshit on that, i’ve killed people with the r3r flying barely 20m above the ground. All I see is this community saying “it’s ez dodge” when it’s actually not, like the trend of denying real life tragedies in order to not get punished by your government. Even yet, you have the very proof that not even from 10m away you can defeat the r27er. You also told me more bs two days ago, i don’t remember it though.
Munitions hitting the water still cause splash damage.
Im wondering how you managed to get a lock on a target flying that low, the Mig21s radar doesnt really like the ground.
In this scenario there wasnt much you could do.
The mirage launched the magic at a really close range.
Your flare launchers were firing down, away from the seeker FoV. In this specific case you were doomed from the start.
Also fyi its “slaving” not “enslaving” , you are pointing your missile in the right direction via HMD/Radar, not making it work the fields.
In addition to that.
If you fly too low the mirror image of his plane caused by multipathing is very close to his own plane, making splash damage more likely.
Ironically flying slightly higher would be better
once again, the r27er didn’t “splash damage”, it literally proxied on me before even reaching the water.
It might have proxied on your mirror before impacting the water. You flying low makes you also closer to your mirror image created by the multipathing.
is this from a russian radar standpoint? Because my aim7s will completely lose lock the moment the enemy goes below treetop.
fly low to get killed by r27er, fly not so low to get killed by r27er, how fun! I’m spending 20.000 euros just to get the su27.
It shouldn’t loose lock though it shoud get several returns and lock onto something next to the plane.
Losing lock is more a sign that he brought an object between you and him to make you loose lock.
You get killed by sparrows flying too low due to splash damage as well. What’s your point?
I rarely die to R27s by flying low, i cannot tell you why you die all the time. R27s usually get me when i am dogfighting and they come in as a third party. 1v1 they aren’t an issue

you don’t? Sparrow slinging radars are usually horrible at tracking anything below 300m and below 6km

how can you contradict yourself this badly? 10m above the sea is not that low either
1v1 they aren’t an issue
a missile that beats the sraam up close is not an issue?
Even if it did, even if it didnt, you were still way too close, it would have killed you even if it crashed in the water
You do. I got killed more often by sparrow splash damage than r27 splash damage.
It is… it’s extremely low. Definately giving far tooo close a mirror and it will make you vulnerable to splash damage
I was talking about the r27 nit.the r73. But if you want to switch topics… Sure. I thought it was a R27 topic.
On the topic of the R73, that is very flarable. If you keep flaring in a 1v1 you are usually safe from them.
The 9M is faaaar more useful in those Situations. You can fire it before the merge getting your opponent in an awkward Position. He needs to manuver, so he will be forced to make a nice early turn you can follow. Giving you an advantage. While the R73 doesn’t need a lot of manuvering, so it cannot be used to force the opponents hand as much.
R27er should be finally nerfed to its real stats with fox3 addition
The ruzzian bias is just unimaginable
At 12.7 us gets f16 with 6x aim9l (useless junk)
Where ruzzia gets mig29 with r27ers (2 guaranteed kills)
Or a yak141 with 4 guaranteed kills with this bullshit missile
Its the worst in sim literally unplayable ruzzia breaks the whole 12.0 12.7 bracket there
F16 cant compete with a yak141 or mgi29 at all it gets outturned and eats r27er
This bullsht missile is able to kill you at close distance while notching at 50m alt
We have them, its called the MiG-29’s FM is awful and if you play your cards right, the AIM-7 works,
who cares about the FM (and mig29 fm isnt that bad) when the entire game is missile spam and r27er is guaranteed kill.
In 2035 you’ll still not have adapted to R-27ER…
