Personally I’ve found the Magic 2 to be pretty comparable in capability to the 9M so far (I don’t have anything with R-73 but playing against it it seems to be in a good spot) and in general IR missile balance seems pretty good. And personally I’ve found the 530D to be significantly more reliable than the 7M. Ultimately flight model stops mattering once it’s “good enough” as the overwhelming determinant of performance at top tier is missile capability and payload. With the functional nonexistence of BVR in the current meta (the only thing holding the Su-27 from being completely dominant given the R-27ER’s overwhelming dominance over all other SARH missiles) the F-15 is at best a dubious upgrade. I don’t have it yet but unless the flight model and engine performance is completely cracked and meta defining (which given what I’ve seen from flying beside/against them I doubt) then losing 2 9M’s compared to the F-16 means it’s a strictly inferior aircraft in the current meta. Similarly, again because of the lack of BVR in the meta, radar only needs to be “good enough” after which improvements in capability provide minimal returns.
wrong!
AIM-7Ms are identical to AIM-7Fs that appear at 11.3 already
aim9m IRCCM is useless, its even making the missile worse than without, r73 is harder to dodge from distance than 9m
Literally skill issue, 73 is easier to dodge at distance but harder close.
At distance you just need to pop a few flares and keep driving as usual, no dodging is needed as R-73 will eat the first flare lol.
You’re surely mixing things up.
9m is pathetically easy to dodge at all distances, no one flies completely straight at these br’s for more than 1 second.
and for 9m all you need to do is pop a single flare and change direction even a little, you dont even need to turn your afterburner off
Tell that to that 9km 9M kills i got multiple times lmao. And rear aspect or front are indeed 9M very easy to flare off,but so are R-73s. Side aspect 9M is unflarable.
tell that to my 9m’s who all missed sideon because of flare. (literally did that 3 minutes ago in a match)
You just dont know how to use them lol. I had issues with them when i was firing them rear or front aspect, now i learned it, nearly every launch is guaranteed kill.
I always use them sideon only and they only hit like 25% of the time, all the other times people just flare and change direction so slightly, especially those hugging the ground to avoid trees or other obstacles
I just played a match and my 9m missed a mig23 side aspect lol
no. The 9M flareable at any distance and in any aspect.
funnily enough I just had a match where all of my aim9ms missed in a mysterious way, 3 fired at players in side on miss but I didnt investigate in replay, however I fired one at a bot from about 2.1km away and it turned towards it and then proceeded to go straight into the ground XDD there was absolutely no flares these were A4B AI planes
I recommend everyone read the ↑ message above ↑ and then grab some popcorn and watch the replay of this match.
NS it’s better than 11.3s? Most of them are far better than the 10.3s they get to face…
not just sparrows fixed, the r27er shold not even reach mach 3.5 nor ignore multipath. I know that the game has changed a lot since certain events, and i believe people is not wanting to see the elephant in the room just in case.
magic is unflareable from side aspect and rear aspect from 1.2km or less, the aim9m will either miss at these close distances or get flared away if you spam flares and change direction.
Multipath affects all SARHs , R27ER included
the major drawback of the f15 is it’s diagonally mounted gun far away from the center, similar issue to that on the yak41 but it has so much more recoil that it will make you not just miss the shot but also nose down losing the trajectory and probably even losing the dogfight. You will have to fly away and die to an r73 or a magic2.
