It offers nothing unique which has been the issue with almost every subtree post South Africa, nor does it fill potential gaps. China doesn’t even need a subtree, there are more than enough domestic vehicles.
I’d be much more interested in the J-10 Early, J8H, J-10B/C and J-15 than shoving more F-16s into China. Similar story for ground; I don’t want/need a Leopard and where is my ZTQ15 and ZTZ99-I?
Indifferent. Would be cool if it was domestic designs + upgraded UK equipment.
Nah, Swiss should’ve been with France. They’ve got a pretty decent connection (French engineers went over there to help develop stuff constantly) and Swiss indigenous MBTs fill the “no stabilized tanks” hole France is notorious for having.
BeNeLux (or more accurately Swamp Germany and friends) could’ve gone to Germany and fit decently well after the WW2 tiers. Aside from BeNeLux hating Germany during WW2 their connection to Germany is about as solid as their connection to France.
At this point was is needed is to split the countries up and give the vehicles case by case to export nations like they did with Poland. It’s causing too much of a mess.
And Britain has enough vehicles to be a fully independent five-line domestic tree, we didn’t need one sub-tree, let alone a second.
India as a confirmed sub-tree was a mistake. If they want to add unique Indian vehicles into the game as event/battle pass rewards, and see Britain as the best place for them, thats one thing, but shoving unneeded soviet copy paste into already bloated areas of the tree was an extremely dumb decision.
Britain has over 600 ground and air vehicles? Since when?
No nation can fill their tech tree, not even USA and USSR, the two most productive military vehicle producers on the planet can get near the 680+ vehicle limit of tech trees.
The only copy-paste are 2 SPAA systems, both of which are foldered.
Multiple variants of every testbed, prototype, production, and imported tank and plane would also very, very easily exceed 600 vehicles, but that is completely irrelevant to the next 20 years of war thunder anyway and is an extremely facetious argument to attempt to make.
When referring to India, I do not include the British Raj because that is obviously British territory.
I am mostly referring to India post-Indo-Pakistani wars. After this point, India becomes a bit of a mix between Soviet and NATO technologies, which I don’t feel is suited for Britain.
This is what our air tree could look like with just SA as a sub-TT
and what have we gotten from India so far?
A mig-21 premium that wasnt needed. (and has essentially been replaced by the Canadian F-18) and Id have prefered a Saudi Tornado F3 (or even GR1) as a premium over a Mig-21
A Jag that we could have gotten anyway and Id still prefer to have the Jag GR3A
HF-24 from what i’ve heard is pretty bad and kinda BS it gets airspawn when the Buc S1 doesnt. But we’ve already got the Hunter to fullfill the same role
Vickers Mk1 is just an export vehicle. No Sub-TT needed
Strela and OSA weren’t needed at all, especially given the outstanding buffs for Stormer HVM and the various other SPAAs we could have and should have for that BR range like the Verdi-2 or a multi-vehicle variant of the Rapier.
So India has yet to add any value to ground either.
They are just using it as an easy way to splap filler vehicles to get out of fixing existing ones. 100% convinced that we got a T-90 instead of CR1 fixes
And most importantly…why add Singapore in the first place to anyone…like at all?
UK doesn’t need Singapore as a Subtree. Japan makes absolutely zero sense.
China wouldn’t need it if Gaijin finally fixed Chinas own Vehicles and added more of their domestic Vehicles instead of always the Copy+Paste / Export-Slop and when they do get domestic Vehicles its nerfed to the Ground and refused to be fixed/buffed by Gaijin even through they accept the Reports on it (some already two years old)…and then say oh China needs a Subtree…wat?
