You watched to much WW2 fantasy movies.
Check the K/D ratios of german tanks on both western and eastern front and open google maps to check the distances from germany where they fought.
That “skill issue” nonsense is annoying.

The ARL-44 was a 1940 design. If we went by the production year of the vehicle it would be a WW2-era tank fighting 1950 and possibly 1960’s eras technology. Pretty much defeating the entire claim that the 2 folks many of us including yourself are disagreeing with.
@Pacifica like the other forum this is slowly getting out of hand. From the messages seems like 2 individuals are pretty much just insulting us indirectly and disguising it. So it seems related to the topic that is at play for War Thunder and the forums.
Hmh… if i read things like this:
… and following this thread as an interested 3rd party reader, i am not sure if it is a wise decision to ask for the “referee” if you don’t want to continue.
Seeing that some of your other posts in this forum (some of which were high quality content) show more “fighting spirit” - i encourage you to continue with this debate.
War thunder is not a history sim. To those that want that, GHP is probably a start. Or il2 has a ground option too. Gaijin tried historical mm and it sucked. I remember the wait times being horrible because one team had better tanks so everyone got into its queue.
This is the same as going to mcdonalds and going “I dont like hamburgers, you should switch to steak”. Maybe you could make them serve steak after enough people demand it but I dont think mcdonalds would make a good steak. Maybe try a steak house?
I don’t get why this topic always ends up in historical matchmaking.
In my opinion the wisest choice would be BR brackets, which would require a big ammount of decompression.
Personally, the WWII period balance is okay currently, even including some cold war vehicles such as that 60s Swedish APC that can barely do anything. I do agree with moving some vehicles up like the M56 though.
I guess that what’d be optimal is creating a void between 6.7 and 7.3, bringing up the later to something like 8.7 (which would require top tier to also move up obviously), with no full uptiers also, so WW2 would be 6.7 at max and then you’d jump to 8.7 with early Cold War vehicles. Top tier would reach something like… 14.0? The solution to this issue is decompression.
And I see no problem in the M56 fighting vehicles from its time period, since its gun is designed exactly for that.
What gaijin needs to do is take a break from top tier and foucs on adding mid tier vehicles so they can decompress that area without making an odd void
Just cut the game in half a 6-7 br and move some stuff up or down a little
Oh i will but i also ping Pacifica any time it deem it going a bit overboard. Just so the Ship doesn’t sink from flooding.
Another thing is that in WW2 reason we won was better planning, coordination and the such. Mainly because we turned everything that could produce something into a burnt and burning 2D circular chessboard.
It is when it feels like it .Why bother recreating vehicle’s in such detail if nobody cares ? Balancing would be easier with creative license there. The maps are childish nonsense the eras are all over the place and the game has become a farce
At this moment ingame I got the feeling that many good players left and what is left are the excellent players versus the new ones. This causes more frustration for those inbetween. I would love to see any reaction on any balance issue by the snail but the silence is a another point where the community gets ripped apart. A clear statement on some important topics could solve endless discussions and make room for other problems that could be solved.
Several document leaks would prove that some care way more than those making the models.
What does the model quality have to do with it? Is there some law i dont know about that they need certain level of realism in mm/physics in order to have detailed vehicle models?
Stop asking for a non-history sim to be a history sim. There are other games that fit what you way better than war thunder. I recommend trying them out. GHP is pretty decent.
This is a warthunder forum about warthunder not anyother game. The piont is obvious ,at one time the era and nations matched the level of historical detail of the vehicles, then Gaijin lost the plot by trying to be greedy with ill conceived nations that dont even have enough vehicles to exist. All people are asking for is a return to some form of common sense.
Skill issue tbh
WW2 era tanks are still very capable against early cold war tanks, you just need to approach things differently than just ramming headfirst into the enemy.
The jump from 6.7 to 7.7 is no worse than the jump from 5.7 to 6.7, people just use the construction period of these vehicles as an excuse for why they are underperforming.
Performance and stats have nothing to do with a poor game and a game getting worse
Read the post and you will see that it in fact is.
Ironic, considering you like to point people to “reading the topic” yourself.
I also don’t see how the game is getting worse on the late-WW2 and early-CW tiers? Little is changing there…
If you are talking about tanks, i guess? Hard to make the “mistake” you are claiming they made when they only had ww2 tanks. Not sure how they could of mixed cold war and ww2 tanks when they didnt have cold war tanks.
Ok? If i went onto the WoT forum and started demanding that they made it into a game similar to war thunder, i feel like they would tell me to go play war thunder.
The jump to heatfs throws a lot of people off. They get used to the angling/brawling meta then have to switch to focusing on not getting shot in the first place.
Once you figure out the change, it isnt that bad.
You are saying accept the crap and learn to live with it.You still cant justify going all out to recreate a perfect tank replica only to pitch it against a tank it would never have met in battle so are you doing realism or not ? Why not use the same fantasy scenario with the vehicles it would certainly ease problems with br
