he probably got killed by an F82 that was flatspinning with tracer rounds and gunpod
Circle of death
How to recover from a flat spin on the Su-27 Then… it just very hard, especially if 1 engine is damaged. How do I recover it?
Idk if you know but you can switch to sim control in ARB, which disable the instructor.
Probably because guns have mechanical linkages that need to be intact. A burning aircraft the guns aren’t going to work neither will the missile launch systems.
It’s a cheap hangover from an age where players would try to kill the aircraft that killed them.
Only now with all the missiles in game it’s pure cancer
610 battles in total
Opinion discarded
The “death blossom” is so common that I find it useful confirmation that the aircraft in question is out of the fight.
If the aircraft is truly “destroyed,” the game puts you to spectator mode in a few seconds. If the guy in the non-functional plane cards “an eye for an eye” in those few seconds, that’s 100% on you ;-)
I know this. Anyway, it schouldn’t be this way.
If it would be easier to get out of a spin with sim control, I would be fine. But the mouse control denies it at all. And I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the case in the past. There are some bug reports, but as usual, ignored.
PARE.
- Power off
- Ailerons neutral
- Rudder opposite turn
- Elevator pitch down.
However modern jets might be unrecoverable due to relaxed stability.
I said “if the guns work” in the comment you were replying to.
Thats fair enough the problem would be eradicated overnight if Gaijin would model more internal modules on aircraft.
Even if pilot gets killed the death pilot still can hold the trigger and fire, happened in real life, and even missiles can be launched if the avionics not damaged, everything you stated in this topic is realistic to a certain point
I kinda doubt it though. Guns are modded ingame, although Gajin chooses to make em indestructible.
That is true, though maybe that is something can change, have the guns themselves damagable, didnt even think about that
I’m in favour of that. I think for the Korea release of IL-2:GB they’re adding that so naturally Warthunder should maintain parity as is the original spirit of the game (Birds of Prey).
That will screw over most non American planes though.
You know it just spins… It only possible to recover in arcade…
Idk jets much, but from what I see SU-27 has FBW, so I assume that makes stuff tricky.
I don’t have the means to test-fly SU-27. SU-33 though can be PARE’d if you intentionally spin it in a slip (upright flat-spin), but I can’t yet figure out recovering from a skid.
Edit: Trimming 100% to the right while skidding in a left-hand turn recovers after losing some 1.5 km altitude. Idk why rudder pedals and trimming gave different results.
Altho reiterating:
Jets.
Props don’t have ejection seats (and often you can’t even open the canopy unless you stabilize the plane already, which is kinda why soviets liked to keep their yaks open canopy). Stabilizing yourself in a prop may be needed to jump out.
Edit 2:
I think reason trim works for stabilizing while rudder fails is the fact that I manage to red-out from the flatspin and that prolly prevents sufficient input while trim keeps the rudder working away.
For why it might not have worked at all (whether skid or slip) is “Simplified” mousejoy rather than “Standard” when swapping over to full-real controls. Simplified actually kinda acts like an autopilot and WILL fight your inputs and aggrevate spins by inputting aileron and elevator to “level” you out…
Flatspinning HMD shots should be removed. Period. If I gun a guy in a dogfight fair and square and he gets to just infinitely drag out the match and make a 3 km death sphere around himself, that’s not good game design. It’s so annoying when you win the dogfight in the worse plane against the better plane WITH dogfight missiles and they just get to spam IRCCM HOBs missile and there’s nothing to besides running away immediately or stalling yourself out and praying your flares work.
It’s mainly a problem of missiles not actually carrying inertia when launched, which would render all missiles fired in this state ineffective anyways. I say just disable HMD if you get severe damaged.
Or just add the modules seen on the A-10 and Su-25 to a lot more aircraft, so that when badly damaged, you cant even fire a shot.
though this is more of an RB issue as in SB, within the cockpit, its not possible to do without being lucky more than anything.
