Open cockpit canopy exploit needs to be eliminated

I think the “open cockpit” issue happens when you’re getting into jets, not props… especially with the way some canopies open (egg shell).

But sounds is an issue even with the cockpit properly locked as stated - it’s a design choice, for sure but I agree that it should at least not be allowed to lower your own engine/guns/etc sounds and not also have that lower enemy sounds. - Sound whoring (as we used to call it back in my SOCOM days) makes sense on the ground but not in the air (though it’s OP in WT and really only belongs in stealth CQB Combat games)

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of hearing disability accessibility being brought up in a video game.
It doesn’t sound like it’s necessary, but rather like it’s a convenient excuse to keep it in the game.

Before 2022 I was using a PC that had Intel Pentium G3240, 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a GT 1030. I was able to play on medium settings if I remember correctly.

I have a laptop, so significantly less capability and no GPU. Also 'least according to this your CPU is a fair bit faster.

If you don’t have a GPU, then no wonder you have to play at ULQ. If you had a good CPU like mine, then maybe integrated graphics would allow you to play at low or medium settings, but with yours it’s probably shit.

Any dedicated GPU will massively boost your performance, maybe apart from the literal worst ones like GT 210. Integrated graphics are meant to display basic things like desktop programs, a browser etc. I bought an i5 12400 and not the F variant without integrated graphics just in case, so that I can always turn the PC on.

Try to build any PC, so you can get any GPU. Gaming on laptops never ends well, cooling is always an issue with them. You could get a used office PC and a budget, low profile GPU like a GT 1030 under a 1000 PLN (around 230 euros). When buying GPU for your PC check if your power supply is powerful enough.

I always had a PC and only recently bought a small 14 inch business laptop that I can take anywhere as a luxury, not replacement for my PC. It can run WOT at max SD graphics in 1080p with 60fps though. I didn’t bother trying to run War Thunder on it.

These are user benchmarks. As you can see for some reason the worst bench for your CPU has 1.1 ghz on turbo, lower than the base clock.

Yours is better, the 10nm vs 22nm litography indicates a huge technological difference, after all it’s 2019 CPU vs 2014 CPU. Yours has more cache of all types, higher clock speed, more threads. Also the Pentium can’t even use DDR4 ram. It has better integrated graphics though.

However, it doesn’t really matter if your CPU is better or not, if you don’t have a dedicated GPU.

Eh, its what I have, same with many others. It works, and its more useful for work due to being mobile. Most people are honestly like this - we play WT on whatever we have, after work/school.

I tried gaming on a 10 year old i5 + 1060/6. It gave 60+ fps on max settings at 1080p. In air battles I could even set it to 2560x1440. Without SSAA4 of course.
So, such PC can be built for $200 without a monitor from used parts. And then you can also upgrade it.
I never understood buying a laptop for gaming.

I don’t see anyone in this reply thread bothering to make the distinction and would be all too happy to remove it from the aircraft that historically flew open cockpit all the time.

Gun sounds are universal, the only thing you can do is change your engine sound and everyone else’s engine. Your teammates will be just as noisy as the enemies, and still lower volume than your own engine.

That’s a sound mod, not settings available to every user. Also AFAIK gaijin usually bans those if they do anything like increasing the sound of enemies and reducing it for friendlies.

I just didn’t understand how they could see that I was launching a missile at them from a blind spot. And seems they just used special changed launch sound. I don’t know if it’s 100% true, but I’ve read about it on forum.

I insist all of these mods can be used in arcade modes with markers, but not in sim.

What I’ve heard from some in the sim community is that they had a second account sitting in spectator view of their own plane. Speed of sound is forced in Sim so I don’t think that’s it unless gaijin’s implementation of it is completely borked.

You can only have a second account spectating for so long before it gets booted for inactivity…

I think the speed of sound works and doesn’t work sometimes in this game - some sounds seem to be faster than they should but I play with an HP Reverb and I have to play at less than half volume or it crashes so I’m no sound whore…

You can take enough from what happens to this pilot, she has a hard time seeing, can’t hear anything and has to land (she’s an emergency aircraft). - now most WWII aircraft could fly around with some open cockpits at varying degrees of openness (depending on the pilot’s comfort/preference) but they didn’t do it to hear the enemy better, and really that’s the issue with this exploit.

Even after she landed she had to pull over and recover - (she should have been wearing a helmet with the visor down, then she’d just have an adrenaline dump to deal with).

If you go more than 200km/h it almost inpossible to have your eyes opend, so I thing the best thing to do would be to start blackout like with the higt g, but without loosing control of the plane.
That would make them close the cokpit, and if it breaks, they have to land and repair. Easy defence.
