Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

I agree with that, though there are other unique vehicles like the YPR-765, AIFV C-25, PRTL or the M113 C&V that could, for example, be added to the BeNeLux subtree. So South Africa was no exception.

(I guess it’s easier for devs to keep adding Leopards)

You are right here, they really messed up the addition of the benelux

And they shouldn’t. Vehicle additions don’t have a place on a roadmap for War Thunder. But mechanics (revisied or new), economy improvements, map reworks, graphical improvements, and features do. Having a roadmap assures players that their feedback is being heard. Again, its a transparency thing.

The CM disclosure bit on the lack of one for 2025 comes across as a “trust me bro”.

The thing is that there hasn’t been a major outcry to rally the player base to greater awareness of certain issues.

Personally I want to see large server upgrades for multiple reasons now.

I do disagree, because at this point you’re objecting to something that has no bearing on you, if you want the F.3 to be the end of the line then don’t bother unlocking whatever comes afterwards.

Look I agree that India should have been a full TT instead of a subtree, but it is a subtree now, and India deservers to be represented in game, and aside from the Tejas, which won’t be added anytime soon, there is no better aircraft to represent the Indian air force than the SU-30MKI, which again, is a free addition, to an otherwise dead line on the tech tree, it literally cannot get more unobtrusive for those that don’t want it, it’s not in the way of anything you want, you don’t have to grind it to keep researching other vehicles, it’s just there, as an option, that you can ignore if you want

I don’t konw why the Tejas couldn’t be added but i think the Su-30MKI deserves to come

It’ll take a while because it’s only user is a subtree nation, so they’ll consider it low priority, especially while there are still British things to add around top tier, the MKI is free though as they’re making a near identical one for Russia anyways

It’s not a free addition tho. The Strela and OSA were free additions because they were are existing vehicles with a new coat of paint.

Adding the Su-30MKI would be way more effort than that, meaning other additions would have to take a step back for it.

About the representation aspect, this is something that I just cannot agree with. No nation actually has to be represented in the game and not every vehicle of a a nation that ends up appearing in the game has to be added.

It being at the end of a column doesn’t change how I feel about vehicles like this potentially appearing in the British tree, but we have completely different opinions about that anyways.

It is not identical to the Russian one?

It gets access to some western weapons different RWR and has the LITENING pod

But i get what you mean it js similar to the Su-30SM while being different

Not identical but near identical, Afaik most of the work needed is already being done with the SM and a lot of the rest is either in game already or is relatively simple.

It’s definitely easier than something like the F-16D that was added with the F-16C for seemingly no reason given that they just gave Israel a C anyways.

And like I said it could receive the German MiG-29 treatment where it isn’t added on the same patch but the next one after if is too different to the SM

We will see especially since the Su-30MKI was done first

Being first means very little to Gaijin, as we see the F-2 is nowhere to be seen despite other AESAs being added

Not really my point the reason the German Mig-29s came late was because it was something they had nothing to do with but the Su-30MKI was partly built in India and has features that Russian flankers lack or got much later

Similar with the MiG-29K where it was India thar finished the funding for its development and was the first country to use it

I hope it wont be just c&p German aviation being spammed all over the subtree whilst the unique Hungarian aviation is locked behind battlepasses and events like you guys did with low tier ground in Hungary’s case.
Besides, when will we get more low-tier Hungarian tanks ? There are 2x 40mm gunned Toldi tanks, Nimrod TD/SPAA, Toldi TD yet to be added. There is even the possibility of a tech tree Turan 2 with a different armor composition.
There is also late cold war with the T-55SZLRP, T-72 Currus and the T-72AV.

Can we expect the subtree to get more unique content, NOT in the form of limited-access battle pass/event stuff in 2025?

Also Austro-Hungarian navy? Many bluewater vessels of all kinds, including early submarines were built in Hungarian shipyards in Budapest and Fiume. Italy could receive either all of these vessels or the good amount that was built by the Hungarian side of the monarchy.

Imagine asking uniqueness from a sub tree, my dear summer boy lol

But yeah like I’ve said if gaijin want’s to make sub’s work then we need a solution other than adding lines, I mean why not go with what happened with the old Italian stuff in Germany or something

To my understanding and have ive have read the MAX is still in development

Oh I agree that it should matter but given that Britain just got the eurofighter and India is a subtree it’s quite likely that Russia get the SM first

And I say that while the situations were different Germany not getting the MiG-29 was way worse than if India don’t get the MKI, as the MiG-29 was identical between trees and there was a need for a German top tier aircraft, whereas the MKI while only slightly, is different to the SM, India is a subtree and Britain has a very good top tier already

could we perhaps get some ZA air to pair with the TTD wink wink nudge nudge
Semi relatedly, would Gaijin consider adding cross national skins in subtrees where crossover applies? For example a South African skin for the OSA, or Indian skins for the Hunter F.6 & FGA.9, or South African skins for Spitfires and such?

Unfortunately I don’t think they actually changed its appearance

Only images of it that I am aware

It’s different to the Indian camouflage schemes, a flat green. A semi historical flat green with some ZA unit markings would be nice for creating “historical” line ups.
