I saw this today https://forum.warthunder.com/t/what-are-the-true-base-bombing-requirements-in-air-rb/7923 and they mentioned that many smaller weapons including missiles do more than their actual tnt. There is a ton of ifs and buts. It seems like the devs wanted to give a small reward to people with limited load outs who make it to the base.
Now being a video game it will be exploited and the folks who will get hurt will be the ones that needed the help.
I just saw a video about the f111, and they declared it the last non stealth mission specific supersonic bomber. I am not sure on how many exceptions to that rule there may be, but the f-15 is a great example. For some reason jack of all trades is better in the real world too.
The f111a would never have been sent on a mission if they the parameters of air rb.
