for me theyre perfoming about the same. r24 just dont feel very reliable, i know what to expect with an r60, r24s just act wacky. might be the shitty radar, aim7e2 have longer range and the same maneuverabilityi just dont see how the r24r could be better
Best argument for 24Rs being better is the airframe they’re on at their tiers
i mean r24r are objectively better missiles they just act weird, ah wait we’re comparing them to e2s? yeah i agree partially, sure r24r might be better on paper but no aircraft which carries them can have more than 2, their slight advantage over the e2 doesnt compensate for having half as many.
Better acceleration and dV but they’re pretty close equivalents in my experience and you typically get twice as many E2s
They’re like 10-20% better, though because of just how terrible the radar is (difficult to get lock, unreliable in keeping lock, and prone to just like not actually track even when the lock is clean and the replay claims it’s tracking) it’s really difficult to get that extra bit of performance out
yup.
I dont recall them ever having iog
aim 7e2 has inertial guidance im not sure if its the same thing at this point it should be
It doesnt have exactly have it. Just shows SARH under its guidance.
What it can do is, if chaff gets locked, keep tracking the jet as long as it is in your radar cone.
For iog, it will not cause the missile to self destruct if the lock is droped. It will also allow for you to relock. Dont know why iog allows for that but it does.
It does not have IOG. Good way to check is the Missile spreadsheet by Koppany99.
Which radar mode do you use on the ML?
aim7e2 is very capable of hitting when you loose lock most of my kills were that way
That is different to how iog works in-game. Your aim7 still sees the jet in that cass.
Once the enemy leaves your cone, you wont be able to correct it. With iog, you can relock and correct the missile.
im fairly i can do that on the e2s?
You can re lock both missiles, if you don’t loose lock for longer than 5s
But if u are using MTI mode in MIG23 u dont need to relock the target it can guide to target without a proper lock
yeah 5 sec is plenty of time to relock on aim7e2, you arent firing at distances in which loosing a lock for that long would be viable
mti mode is basically nonexistant, at least in my experience, it only toggles when im pointing the ground
yep below 1.5km u can still use it
Wonder when that was added.
seek and destroy as far as iknow
R-24R is just hands down superior to the AIM-7E-2
