Low Tier Clubbing

Oh and do you mean bad by saying “well”? Because easy to play planes get eventually uptiered, like a former head-on monster Ta-152C which now sits at 6.3

Anyway, airspawn can be balanced if you take into account map size, “all airspawn” maps and starting alt.
F.e. Ta-152H will be damn good on non all airspawn small maps, but on larger maps many planes willl sit at similar alt by the time we merge.
On all airspawn maps you may be in deep trouble, because Yak-3U will be like 900m higher by the time you merge.

If you don’t properly adjust the airspawn, a plane that needs it will have to be OP on normal maps so it can even out its bad performance on all-airspawn maps.

Now, you also have climbing monsters like Hornet or XP-50 also spawning in the air. What sense does it make?

But that’s off topic.

Back on topic - I seal club because it’s fun.

And it’s not like I’m doing a lot worse at 4.3, 5.0 or 6.0
It just takes less effort.

Good aim or guns become irrelevant if your opponent knows how to dodge and energy fight. The only reason people die to a Yak 2 is inexperience. The only thing going for it is the starting energy, and that’s a limited resource too. It is not fast enough to fight fast planes, it is not maneuverable enough to fight turn fighters. The only planes it can engage are ones piloted by people that can’t leverage the strengths of their own planes.

“well” in the sense that it’s not your plane’s abilities being good, but enemy players killing themselves. I do “well” in a Sakeen, for example. I got a positive KD on it, but I will never call that plane any good whatsoever. Similarly, people that do not maintain speed over the Yak 2 are killing themselves, it’s not your plane being good.

Yeah lets get back on topic.
I like seal clubbing seal clubbers. I wouldn’t be able to seal club seal clubbers if they wouldn’t seal club at low tier. I’m all for seal clubbing to continue.

Also account level good players

Someone can be level 100 and not be that amazing, or level 10 and better than 90% of people

Yak-2KABB has pretty good turn, good climb and can pull lead and quickly adjust. It’s also decently fast. It attacks a team during climb, which also makes them more suspectible to attack.
It can survive head-ons unless pilot eats a shell.
It’s simply a very good plane for its BR.
But hey, yeah I’m so bad at the game I can’t tell if my plane is good.
You on the other hand “seal club seal clubbers”, you must be so good :D

Edit: As expected, you’re doing the bare minimum expected from a fighter player.
You’re doing ok (not grear) in Ki-43-I and Ki-27 but neither can be effectively clobbered by anything at that BR, but they are a part of the same problem that Yak-2KABB is - Yak-2 is not a turnfighter at BR everyone is turnfighting and Kis have bad armanent but busted performance at BRs where people are bad at aiming so neither is properly balanced.

If lvl was equal to skill this would be a very different game. I’ve seen amazing lvl 7’s and awful lvl 100’s
Sometimes I just want to drive what my grandfather did.

players grinding new nations, players who like to play with WW2 vehicles, players who want to have fun with less modern vehicles, players revisiting their favorite vehicle or some remarkable vehicle, players who are training some low tier vehicles to play clan battles of lower tiers, players who are playing with friends who don’t have top tiers and are helping them grind… the possibilities are endless.

The game is the most balanced at these brs 5.3 is arguably the best br in game.

It’s a boat next to dedicated turn fighters.

I dunno man, 456 KMH top speed @ deck looks abysmal to me (source: dogeness spreadsheet). Any US plane will easily play around with it using energy.

You’re not bad, but if you’re talking about surviving headons, then you’re definitely doing something wrong, and have room for improvement. You don’t need to risk headons if the Yak 2 is overpowered.

Seal clubbing seal clubbers doesn’t mean I’m good, but they sure have their pants down, thinking nobody poses a threat to them.

Broski, I take the Ki-27 to BR 4.0-6.0. Stats for the Ki-43-I are from the days I was starting to learn how to play. I have 17.8 KD with the Ki-27 on a different account. I’ll add you to friends if you give me squad uptiers :3
Also, don’t take my comment about seal clubbing seal clubbers personally, it was not directed at you, but was a legitimate comment regarding this thread’s topic.

Instead of looking at player stats, you should use plane specs in your arguments. It’ll make discussions regarding plane performance progress much faster.

I can’t find the 21 kills screenshot lol but I do have this one mehehehe

Maybe there is a high scores thread for tankers, like this thread for air RB: High scores in RB - #180 by 1N1ck
Add your screenshot in such a thread, or create it yourself if it’s missing.

I’ve been trying to spade a 3.0 SPAA, lately. This has me playing at that BR (Frequently against 4.0 opponents) I’m not playing with premium time anymore, so it’s a slog to get RPs for this SPAA.

Dude, I’m basically doing way better than you in every plane. Please stop trying to give me advice.
Going head-on is a normal part of the game, and Yak-2KABB can do that very effectively. It’s an ilportant feature and advantage, acting like it doesn’t matter is a fool’s game. US has P-36 which is a decent threat, everything else gets outturned basically.
You can try to “play energy” while getting boom and zoomed by a plane that needs 1 pass and has 0 trouble landing the shots.
It’s not very fast. It’s fast enough.
The advantage is not 1 stat, but the combination of airspawn and performance. Which is why I casually kill 3 guys per battle in it, while you struggle to get 2 KPB.
And on win ratios - you can see one of my best win ratios happened while flying A7M2 and being bad at it. Some nationa win a lot more at certain BRs. Why? Because their teams get planes that work better vs average idiot.
The only issue with Yak-2KABB is - you have to kill at least 3 guys per game for a decent chance of winning. Scoring 2 kills early game and dragging half of enemy team to the deck and into goong slow will get you 50% WR at best. So the only real problem of the plane from gameplay perspective is - the teams sucks.
But armanent, maneuvrability, decent speed, good climb and starting with good alt advantage combo makes it damn formidable.
Now, once again - stop giving me advice, you aren’t good.

To sum it up - low BRs have planes that grant extremely quick and easy kills. It’s fun. They are apparently also full of super-mid players who think they are doing great because they’ve reached 1,5 KPB, which is super sad.

K/D is irrelevant.
Go squadded. Camp the AF and a decent player can basically never die. The fact you’re using K/D instead of KPB in an argument shows you have no idea. A typical feature of mid players thinking they are “upper echelon” while “upper echelon” (which I’m not a part of, I am just experienced, but can’t properly dogfight) considers people like you fodder.
You brought skill into it, claiming a plane with alt advantage forcing people to stop climbing, dive and run is only good vs clueless people. No, it’s sometimes not working because of clueless people on your own team. The things it does to enemy team are extremely omportant.

Airspawn is probably the biggest factor.

The F84s are pretty broken imo due to aforementioned airspawn as well. It allows you to very quickly intercept vulnerable/distracted enemies who weren’t expecting to be attacked so early, and cause an early snowball effect. Even if you don’t get early kills, you likely damage the opponent and most importantly interrupt their positioning so your team gets the advantage.

F84 gets the added benefit of being sonic, so pissed off enemy starts chasing it rather than fighting your team and thus get picked off without being able to defend themselves.

Generally I consider airspawn an absolutely broken feature. Yak-2 makes bomber gameplay “not so enjoyable”, this I know for sure.
And at low tier, where climb is often bad, airspawn creates some really painful scenarios.
Some planes can handle the issue (Japanese teams will work even without alt as low tier teams will try to turnfight them and die anyway, hence vs Japan I have to scorw 4 kills and stay alive, and still can witness several guys dying to Ki-27 approachi g it 1 after snother and turnfighting :D
Some get clobbered mercilessly.

IMO a game as big as WT should have such features done in a more complex and smarter way. The best Gaijin could do was move airspawn behind the AF on Mozdok Frontlines. Yay.

Same thing applies to the Xp-50 and Wyvern. They would both be fairly balanced if they didn’t have an airspawn, but Gaijin decided to give the best climber and the fastest planeat thier BRs an airspawn.

Meanwhile, stuff like the Vantours or Buccaneers suffer because they don’t have one anymore. Personally, I think that an airspawn should be based off of whether a plane needs it or not. Not all strike fighters need one, but some fighters/interceptors also don’t need one.

Yeah, Wyvern with airspawn is a menace. Even 100% braindead Wyvern player will cause serious problems, because to dodge him you need some serious speed. So instead of climbing, you have to dive. If Wyvern misses - he can just fly away and return some time later as generally chasing Wyvern is pointless, unless you’re P-51D at 3+km so you can go faster in a straight line. Too bad in such case Wyvern players tend to just go for their AF. GL HF.

Generally, for me low tier seal clubbing is fun because of airspawn. I can jump into the fight very quickly, score 4 kills and start another game before some slow climbers even merge.

People are talking about: Having high Level and Hours doesn’t mean it will make you pro.
And some other people said: Cooking newbies are meaningful for the newbies because they could improve their skills after experienced getting killed by you.
Well i disagree with those statement. I know war thunder is not like COD Warzone or Black Ops 6 that force you to be agile, have fast reflex, and very good aim. Its more about strategy. But a lot of experience could make a player know every good camping spot or something. They even know how to jump scare noobs from afar. Bro they’re noobs, just let them enjoy the game first before knowing the nightmare of 6+ BRs. Let them cook each other don’t just cook them alone, it made them frustrated, they will hone they skills while fighting players with the same skills. I’ve got a high level team mate before. And boom they have a lot of kills with a few death, even never dead in the game. So the point is just play in your current highest BRs. They have their own challange and so you are. But if you’re using bad vechiles, meme, or troll vechiles, well i have no comment

well in my case I might’ve been level 100 for well over 4 years but I haven’t bothered researching all low BR vehicles, much less spading them. it’s not exactly always the intent to seal club but I will agree my years of experience give me an unfair advantage over the beginners who downloaded the game a week ago

I do have a few go’s at my mate house at higher BR on occasion. To honest tech seems to be the issue there with some tanks having vital equipment that others to don’t due to BR like IR and ammo issues. At least at WW2 levels there is a vague sense of balance.
