Level based match making

Or Assault. It’s slow but - that’s where I earn my modules on stock vehicles.

Don’t understand this suggestion.

Never.

Level has nothing to do with skill, nothing.

Fun > toxicity.

I only reached lvl 100 2 years ago. I had more than 1500hr in game by then and have been playing on and off since 2014.

The lvl is not indicative but it is a good glance at whether someone is just bad or new to the game

Have you ever stopped to think that a level 100 player is basically just an ‘average’ player who bought an $80 pack, grinded one line, and then decided to go back and do the stock grind on the vehicles they unlocked ?

I also get furious with those who defend this, saying that even if someone is level 100, they might not play well. I’ve played 5 matches and this guy has 25,000 kills, how is that fair?

What difference does it make? The number of matches he played and the number I played are very different, experience is very different. IS THERE A PROFILE REVIEW IN THE GAME?

level based premium buying restrictions >>>

When the guy had 5 matches, he too saw someone with way more experience. He learned what to do.
It is fairness in time.

Yes.

If you don’t feel ready for conflict, play the air assault mode. You get practice.

Maybe not full elo system but a equalized level summation? If both teams have players of around same sum of levels it should be fine right?

Again, level is a bad indicator.

I’m level 82 now. I made the above post on the 19th.

All because I spam naval arcade to burn through my SL boosters to avoid wasting them AND have premium AND use a premium boat.

60 minutes in my 109 F-4 played perfectly in air sim without premium: 4 x 2500 = 10 000 RP.

A random naval arcade match, lasting 10-15 minutes. 10 000 RP.

Both progress my “Player level” equally.

Also #level 82 with 890 hours played (388 in ASB).

There’s people with like 200 hours and already level 100 because premium + ARB + jets.

Level based matchmaking won’t work
Because level ≠ skill

I have saved a couple gems to show you how absolutely nonsensical the idea of high level correlating to skill is

Not to mention we already have a br based matchmaker

Also, how well do you think a good player will do in a stock vehicle facing people of equal skill in completely upgraded vehicles?

I support ELO system and SBMM… :) Then win rates of some nations would bump up because some good players don’t need russian tech tree to get kills.

So, how will you make an elo system that works well for WT along with the br system?

Go, explain

Yeah, it’s not like SBMM is a system that exists solely to better control players and frustrate them to death by putting them in try-hard matches as soon as they have one or two good games in a row.

It’s mostly a race to the bottom; all the bad players together, great, they’ll improve just fine that way.

So how would you handle…

  • players starting a new nation = reserve tanks and 0 level crew?
  • players who gained a bunch of levels in Air battles, and are now trying ground FOR THE FIRST TIME?
  • players that have played a long time, but find low-mid BRs (think ww2) a lot more fun to play?

Not to mention queue times getting insanely inflated

If you play lower tiers you will get a MUCH LOWER level average…there is the occasional high level player and more important the frequent players that know what they are doing…but ON AVERAGE players are not very experienced…
(in case of doubt google “AVERAGE”)

If you want to play mid or high tiers, you are no longer “learning” and there is really no need for level matchmaking…from experience on other games, this will only create loopholes and “exploits”…
WT has the BR system that will give every player a fighting chance…it works fine IMHO.

Players asking for “level based” are often not really wanting this…they “assume” it will get them more kills and less deaths…but it does not work like that…over time (or immediately in most cases) they will come back here saying the system is rigged, particularly when the “easier” targets (that usually are not in forums) disappear from their matches…

And success will lead to less success. Everyone will love that.
