Honestly sounds good. Im worried about rocket pods, though- will they be like 30-40 sp, or-?
I don’t think they’ll learn much from pointing their cursor to a pre-determined spot.
Thoughts on also forcing bomb fuze, similar to AB?
Its a mechanic I personally like, it means that if you die its either your fault or you were disabled.
I’d consider it replicating the actual training SPAA crews got in AA gunnery. Additionally, some later SPAAs had analogue FCS (Like the Duster) which when combined with decent training would allow for semi-automatic lead calculation, something not represented in game.
I understand the duster, as it had a radar version, but this feels like we’re completetly negating the point of having SPAAs with actual radars at this point. And again, if this is just for close ranges (let’s say <1km), then I really do think that’s just a skill issue.
There would be a couple of ways to implement such a system without it just being RADAR-lite.
- Make it slowly gain accuracy as pilots fly straight, and lose accuracy as they make manuevers.
- Make it require several seconds of tracking a plane before it appears at all.
- Make it so that it gains accuracy faster against larger, slower targets and slower against smaller, faster ones.
I mean sure, that may help.
I still don’t like the idea in general though.
It may help less-experienced players get their guns on target more often, but this discourages developing their skills, and, instead, opting to rely on the lead indicator to hit their shots.
Crew skills are already pretty much P2W, especially ACE qualification.
I see the first one as a good way to have counterplay in both directions. CAS planes would have to stop taking easy shallow dive straight line approaches or risk getting slapped out of the sky, but good evasive manuvers still allow them to be a threat to an SPAA that’s utterly reliant on guidance.
xD
And with them dying due to that, they should (at least theoritcally) learn when or when not to engage.
Of course, majority of this playerbase probably will never learn.
Ah, fair enough. I honestly like the mechanic but whatever.
All AB needs atm is removal of Tiny Tims (If you know, you know), and changing of some loadouts.
And A-10s at 7.3? lol
Nah, those only get 250lbs and so arent that bad. I generally nuke em with Bkan anyways lmao.
I think some will climb out of the hole that is brainless gameplay, and others do not. If they don’t want to climb out of it, it’s on them, not on the players who took effort to learn.
He’s talking about AB, where you cannot select what loadouts you are going to get in aircraft.
AB, so you cant choose the aircraft or loadout. Tiny Tims are currently OP due to being basically a bomb without a fuze, and completely guaranteeing you 2-3 kills.
AB has a very… different meta to RB, and atm rockets > bombs.
I would say CAS (in general) is easier to play than SPAA. Your idea is to somewhat make it easier for the SPAAs, but would slightly hinder players who had worked for the difference in skill. These changes may (or may not) also affect the BRs of these SPAAs, as they would seem to be more powerful in general.
I think there could be other ways to make playing SPAAs easier, but this idea may not be too bad.
I do think us swedes will still use the Bkan though…
Mainly because even with lead our SPAAs suck lol
Lvkv 42 is not a bad AA. Neither is L-62 ANTI II. At least for their respective BRs.
The BKAN is one of the easiest proxy arty ‘SPAA’ in the game too.
