Why has this restarted? Did most not already agree on the fact that this is not a 10.7 vehicle but it is as much a compression issue as it is a balancing issue.

Newest update on players’ opinion on J7D, not really bad compared to some of the other premiums, but the fact is clear that people are giving it “yellow” rating on balancing should be saying something.
Partially it is because the J-7D always get uptiered and it struggles against especially the MiG-23ML and JA37c.
The balance rating is too ambiguous and confusing to be worth ever using. Are people rating it low because its OP, or because it’s too weak?
(It is OP, and should be 11.0).

I would take PL-5B over R-60M most of the time.
I prefere it over Magic 1 even and Mirage III/5 have 2 of those. PL-5B completely changes the effectiveness of the platform.
J-7D would be quite reasonable at 11.0.
Unfortunately at and around 10.7 there is quite some compression.

it’s not “Fine”, it’s a MiG21MF airframe with a MiG21SMT engine and carrying the best rear aspect missiles in the game. One circles anything in the br while still pushing, and can get 3 plus km kills unnoticed and, if you stay exactly behind less than 1km away the missile will ignore flares because of it’s small seeker head locking onto the engine nozzle. So not only it’s 90 percent of the MiG21 Bis in performance, it has goated missiles that make up for that missing 10 percent.
The part about not being able to flare them from close is 100% false
the pl5 compares in aspect sensitivity to the R13M, this means it’s not “rear aspect”, but side aspect and even sometimes front aspect in very hot aircraft like tomcats, phantoms, mig23s, mirage f1s etc.
Of course, if you cut throttle to 50 percent ten seconds before the j7d lines up you’re going to flare them away, but the j7d will get your tail and kill you with the gun. This is not a winning statement on your part. I’ve literally taken pl5b’s head on on the f-5c which is colder than a Hunter F6.

you calling the j7d and it’s weaponry bad is like someone had a Lamborghini, did amazing drifts and drag racing and still said “eh this thing shite cuz it can’t turn as tight as a Twingo” like genuinely go quack yourself. I literally came from a match where I ate a PL5 from top to bottom on the su25 while I was flaring.
Never said it was bad in anyway.

Meanwhile the snail turns the Su25 into a Brontosaurus at the very same BR and gets one shot by the slightest sneeze but people keep ranting about it as if nothing changed.

Damn i’m so sorry I chose to fly non meta planes requiring high skill level to thrive that get to be prey of the most effective tool available in such br bracket. I’m so bad for that, maybe I should invest more skill into buying the j7d.
I love the 9.7 harrier and i cant flare much as its hotter than the sun. Its a game of cope. The down- tiers cant flare the harrier as they dont even have flares
J7D slaps for sure but is it as good as the mig21bis… very debatable. Isnt the 10.3 mig21 relatively even more OP?
