But italy also has the T-129 a turkish helicopter in italy… I understand where you’re coming from but if turkey is gonna be added i’d rather see it as a stand alone tree with the only issue being turkish airforce being too small to be added… But hey, great suggestion o7
I didn’t know about a Turkish T-129 being in Italy.
I will be moving Turkey to misc next time I update the list.
All’s fine man :) Great post nonetheless
I mean, the F-104S that has “Turkish Air Force” in the name would also be hard to miss I think?
But anyway, this is a nice list. Is there any reason why some pictures you chose aren’t the ones used by those countries? (Like for the Fennek SWP for example you use a picture of the new KNDS promotional test vehicle for the Dutch (French TT) one, not that they are that different in look, but the Dutch one does carry some details which differ from the ‘german’ KNDS test vehicle. (namely some extra hooks to attach equipment and some Dutch additions that allow more antenna’s and Dutch communication equipment)
I know it’s a minor thing and that I haven’t really wrote about it in my post, but just FYI, they are different. (then again, most WT players will still shout COPYPASTE anyway)
I just re-read my post and I’m not trying to be mean! I completely understand that this list is meant to be an attention-bringer to all these AA systems and their suggestions.
I don’t follow planes/helicopters so I’m not well versed in what there is and isn’t in the game.
As long as its brought to my attention I will try to get a corrected photo, as some point. Thanks for informing me of the Fennek picture.
Feel free to take one from the suggestion post, or use one of the Copyright-free ones from the Dutch Government. Even the KNDS website has pictures of both their dutch and ‘german’ one: FENNEK SWP - KNDS.

its not Swedish tho
Norway currently has 2 tanks in Sweden, Its safe to say (unless Gaijin needs to stretch for a vehicle implenation) that any Nordic combat vehicle is going to be in Sweden.
Unless Gaijin surprises us with a dedicated Norwegian Tech Tree.
should still mention it tho
That its Norwegian? I did.
i am tired man:(
Pandur Evo (ATLAS-RC) is Austrian.

Here’s a few more for China:
Spoiler
Standard Type 625. Fitted with MANPADs instead of FB-10s. This is the version in Chinese service.
Standard Type 625 without radar. Likely to reduce costs, not all Chinese Type 625s are fitted with radars. They likely operate in conjunction with radar equipped Type 625s. Likely still have some sort of optical acquisition system.
LD2000.
LD2000 (TY90).
HQ11 Gun Unit. Part of the multi-vehicle HQ11 air defense system. Based on the LD2000.
JRLD1. Fitted with two FB-10s and a 25mm PG87 autocannon.
PGZ09 SPAAGM. Experimental PGZ09 fitted with some sort of missiles. Very little is known. May even be a mockup. Thought I’d share regardless.
Gaijin pls give Italy a Hungarian Gepard, or a Strella, or anything that isn’t a SIDAM Mistral or Glorified 11.3 Flak Gun. XoXo.
-Top Tier Italy Player.
Jokes aside Italy’s top tier SPAA situation is nightmarishly bad.
The only missile based SPAA we have is the SIDAM 25 Mistral which has a VERY low engagement range and while the missiles aren’t terrible they seem to have a hard time guiding to target off the launcher and for allegedly having IRCCM tend to be fairly flare hungry at times. I think part of the problem is the VERY low max G overload coupled with the mediocre acceleration. This isn’t even mentioning the arguably worse part which is that it entirely lacks a radar meaning you have to optically identify targets and given your front aspect lock range is ~2.5km you’re probably getting blown to bits by a either a paveway or AGM before the target even enters your engagement zone.
As it stands the “top tier” SPAA we have is the 11.3 OTOMATIC which is a strictly worse 2S38. It’s a full BR higher, much larger with similar functionally. While yes the OTOMATIC has a good radar and IRST the frame it’s on is MASSIVE and because it’s a gun based SPAA is outranged by many aircraft launched AGMs. While it can be a potentially threatening tank destroyer the artificial limitation on its APFSDS capacity combined with the fact that it’s about the size of a destroyer means you’re neither stealthy nor fast enough to rat around the map. If you take away the radar it’s a 2S38 that’s less mobile, 2x the size and a full BR higher. While the radar functionally significantly improves its performance it’s not enough to be a truly top tier SPAA.
Italy would really significantly benefit from ANY of the included weapons systems to fill its capability gap. While as OP stated gaijin is unlikely to implement any Patriot-style systems into the game soon (if at all) I think that the inclusion of the aforementioned systems would significantly bolster Italian air defense capabilities, especially considering the large gap in systems between the 9.7 SIDAM and 11.3 OTOMATIC. The Strella at 10.3 would bolster the already very strong italian 10.3 lineup by giving access to a capable Anti-Air in relation to the threats it faces.
I would also be interested in seeing the inclusion of the Hungarian Gepard 1A2 at the BR of 9.7 as it appears in other trees with the SIDAM MISTRAL being moved to 9.3 and the regular SIDAM moved lower to 8.0. The SIDAM without MISTRALs is largely useless as it’s fully outclassed by the Shilka which is at 8.0. The 1A2 strictly speaking is superior to the SIDAM Mistral, FIM-92Ks outrange it, have better anti-jamming, and while they have a marginally lower max G overload are entirely sufficient due to the extended range allowing more time to accelerate to target and that’s WITHOUT even considering the Gepard ACTUALLY having a radar to identify targets.
As a top tier SPAA I’d like to see the Iveco M40 as OP mentions. It’s seemingly a blend of the PANTSIR and ADATS where it has the massive frame and power of the radar to aid it as an anti-air, but also gains the ADATS’ anti-armor capabilities albeit at a degraded rate to to lack of gun depression and overall size.
TLDR;
Gaijin Italy top tier SPAA doesn’t exist please fix <3.
I will add these to the bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
iirc Iveco has like absurdly low missile velocity.
