I think it’s more a case of not selection bias than anything else. Seldom is there ever a game without SPAA or air up. Though people may not bother as much since pantsir being king others may not even bother as much. I know with Japan I don’t unless the idiot continually buzzed the field.
But this game does piss me off lol. I took a break to finish painting my 40K army.
I guess, though setting up like that is still won’t have a 100% success rate.
Agreed.
Though you should consider the fact that it costs much more SP to spawn in a ‘flying’ SPAA than it is to just spawn in a ‘ground’ SPAA. Though, it’s definitely cheaper to spawn in a chinese helicopter with TY-90s than it is to spawn in fixed-wing air superiority fighters.
Fair enough.
Su-27 used to be 13.3, so I could see why you’d think that now.
I still really like the Yak-141 just because it has a much more agile flight performance (although its top speed is much worse, and the Su-27’s flight performance got a bit better after a recent buff), and it can sweep most things in a closed 1v1 due to the afterburner VTOL ability.
I agree with the fact that it’s a shame it doesn’t have R-73s, though.
Back then it was much more competitive, as it used to be 12.0, and the Su-27 was 12.3 or more likely 12.7 (I forgot).
It doesn’t really have to be, though it would be nice.
Getting into a furball with it is really nice, though.
I can agree with this, though if you practice a lot, you can dodge stingers fairly well while guiding in Kh-25MLs from ~7/8km.
By the time the Kh-25MLs are about to impact, you’d be in a closer and better position to actually hit it via third person zoom.
I forgot. I wish it wasn’t the same BR as everything else - especially when the Su-34 is superior to it in practically every way.
Could’ve just been my luck those days. But I have been having a much better time flying the Huey’s over the hinds. But I can reliably Dodge things in the Huey’s too
Well aside from it being large, it gets compensated by having 4x better missiles (better damage, better range (4km instead of 3.75km), better speed… and then the heli itself gets IRCM, and a much better gun (instead of just 7.62s).
I mean, just look at how crappy the AS.11’s damage is.
It’s no surprise that the thread has drifted completely towards jets and their capabilities.
Helicopters only have a greater influence on the battle when there are hardly any enemy jets in the air or there are not 10 Pantsirs as usual towards the end of the game.
This is getting to the point where I’m now considering just ending the helicopter flights after firing all the ATGMS (i.e. landing, repairing and then getting out). The only thing that makes me refrain from doing it is the fact that I don’t really care about my KDR.
But the as.11 is pure bs, everyone knows it, pretty much unless you snipe the pilot, it can take insane damage or not get hit at all.
And no, I don’t think the Mi-24D is all that better.
As the UH-1Cxm, gets the 40mm grenade launcher with what 48mm pen?
6x Tow ATGMs with 2.79 mile range if i remember correctly, 600mm pen etc.
The atgm speed is what 310 m/s?
It’s smaller, somehow has a lower heat signature and can dodge aams reliably.
The Mi-24D’s only true advantage lies in the ability to take S-24s but they’re so high in dispersion that you have to hope and pray whatever you hit dies.
It’s so massive it’s easily clipped by MG fire, and thanks to @Developers the new lovely “damage model” your entire helicopter is useless, but you have to hope the enemy is bad as you try to retreat to repair and miss you massive heli.
The Falangas are only 240 m/s? So they take a long time to guide, and usually by the time I’m about to hit a target for the second time thanks to atgm subpar damage, the enemy is killed by a friendly.
Well, the 40mm grenade launcher on the UH-1CXM is has a much worse firerate than the dual-cannon 40mm grenade launcher on the AH-1G:
It’s pretty crappy imo, unlike the AH-1G’s.
Falangas have much better TNT equivalent (more damage), as well as slightly better penetration.
They also have better range (4km instead of 3.75km), but they are slower (230m/s instead of 296m/s) - so I’ll give you that.
The UH-1Cs get 6x ATGMs instead of just 4x ATGMs, but the Mi-24 gets access to spam 64x S-5K rockets (especially with the fact that it gets CCIP), as well as 2x 23mm gun pods.
So I’d say the firepower is equal, if not, better on the MI-24D.
As for protection, the UH-1C is smaller and has a lower heat signature (probably), but the Mi-24D has IRCM, so it doesn’t need to have a low heat signature.
And since you can launch the ATGMs from 4km out, the easier it is to dodge the SPAA’s gun fire.
Lmao no. Okay, discussion over. S-5Ks are so terrible it’s not even funny. S-24s can be okay.
So the tows and falangas are somewhat equal but a .25 mile difference in range, and less than 2 KG higher isn’t a massive difference
The UH can carry 2 more and they’re 60m/s faster.
23mm are rarely if ever used. Only truly useful against the thinnest armor.
Mi-24D ≠ UH-1CXM, in fact, the UH1CXM > Mi-24D.
It’s smaller, slightly slower but better agility, has 6 tows and a better chin mounted gun for anti tank capability. It can can dodge auto cannon and aams far far far easier.
Lastly the ah-1g is pretty equal with its grenade launcher to the UH
He has played it more. Sure. I do play other games than Warthunder, unlike many people who stick like glue to one singular game.
Secondly, keybinds. Notice that controller symbol next to my name?
Guess what, I play on controller, have no access to the PC mods, no ULQ or anything else I could benefit from. And I am not saying he uses those what I would call “cheats” but if he has more available buttons to keybind, and better luck, sure I can see why his stats are better.
It’s not just a bit better, it’s a lot better.
It means that he’s doing something that you don’t do, at the very least.
You aren’t getting a ~3.0K/D just by turning on ULQ lol
