I mean, i know im stretching but, aren’t there multiple years apart between Hel and EX ? Wouldn’t the armor array inside potentially change ? Cause i think i remember hearing Hel having better protection than EX, courtesy of being newly built(more modern, duh)
Just a upgrade kit it’s nothing special lmao it’s like the 2a6EX or TVM or anything else or well in the case of Hungary they took 2a7+ and upgraded it again to their specifications.
It was not based on the 2a6EX or anything like it. Just a more advanced tech demo for exports.
Not really. 2a6EXs last showcase for export was in 2009 in turkey that’s 1 year after 2HEL was brought I can’t remember 2a6EXs original showcase I think it was like 2002 ish area but don’t quote me on it.
I personally don’t believe any of theses claims. At The point 2a6HEL was brought the standard hulls were D techs from 6-8 batch leopards nothing to say the Greeks upgraded it further and probably couldn’t of kmw was incredibly specific with what exports could do with their leopards.
And btw we are talking a gap of like 8 ish years max and the leopards post cold war weren’t exactly upgraded alot until 2a7+ in like 2010-11
Nahhh bro 2HEL is obviously a complete different tank than the 2EX because it has air conditioning /s
Don’t forget the Greek radio or whatever
Most important the data transfer cable to a CAN BUS rather than the MIL BUS 1553, making it a brand new tank
just to clarify 2a7+ has “less” armor than 2a6Ex ,E , Hel, being an upgrade to preeexisting 2a6s, whereas ex==E==Hel, in terms of general protection with some minor differences in construction on other fronts then and there, yeah ?
i mean what’s fucking with my brain for example, is, leopard 2E production started from like 2002 and ended in 2012 i think ? And its a fucking 10 year gap, and in that fucking 10 year gap, there ain’t no differences like, just as an example, batches 4-5 of leopard 2a4 and last batches 7-8 with better armor being C tech
And like, the production of Hel also lasted a litttle while, no ? I would expect some internal changes to composition, either that or its just my wishful thinking really
Also with 2a7+ quatar and 2a7+ HU, i expect them to have a better level of protection than 2a7+ urban ops and duel ops showcased way back when, with them being newly built and shit, perhaps better level of protection than 2a7v, with V being upgraded older vehicles
2a7+ would have identical armour lol it used MEXAS as well idk what the last part of your sentence was tbh so I’m not going to attempt
You can just look at the 2 tanks here
2a7+

2a6EX

It’ll be the same as the 122s we have in game since improved German armour is a marketing lie.
i mean, maybe i am putting too big of an emphasis on “newly built” and its not actually that big of a deal, but i expect there to be difference between a tank that is newly built with mexas-H(E, Hel), and a tank that is an upgraded 2a6(2a7+ models)
How is improved german armour a marketing lie ? I mean, aren’t there years apart between the last batch of 2a4s with c tech, and then 2a6ex demonstrator and everything that comes afterwards ?
I can understand a tank having certain level of protection depending on it being an upgraded B tech or C tech hull, but how is D-tech reeeeaaaaally a lie ? It’s just i do feel like tanks being newly built should amount to something, and again, perhaps i am putting too much emphasis on that, but that just feels like the most logical thing ever
Nothing would internally change. It would mess up the whole production timelines.
6-8 were and thoses were finished in 92. Everything until the 2a7 ish area was based on them hulls.
Just wishful thinking.
Would actually be the best of the 3 in game since it used the older form of armour. The urban ops kit would likely just be identical to PSO in game so yk good enough
All of them tanks were just technically upgraded 2a6s lmao although 2a7+ was only originally 2a6 in its first showcase and that was from a dutch 2a6M and it was missing a lot. I’d call it a 2a7.
Just is 🤷♀️ we are talking about a company who doesn’t believe a tank 30 years newer is better armoured.
Ask gajin.
Definitely putting too much of a emphasis.
You said 195??? Oh man you are my friend now
Gotta let your true German main out every now and then I guess.
And don’t go deny it, it’s obvious in so many more ways than one. Can get the main out of the nation, but can’t get the nation out of the main.
It would only be 2 nations since as our German mains friends have pointed out, our 2A8NLs aren’t being delivered until next year.
(There is an argument to be made that Gaijin can use logic to determine that the 2A8NL will be identical to the German version, meaning it could theoretically be added sooner)
So it would only be Sweden and Germany, with Sweden absolutely not needing anymore love when it comes to top tier MBTs.
Oh there i did.
I do get annoyed when people cant even explain why the 2a8 would be next lvl and leapfrog over all other tanks.
Because lets face it, thats not the case.
And say that even france shouldnt get any option with the embt 2022
I would take that mpre as a general statement, not necesarily restricted to 2a8s.
That being said it doesnt help that frances current only option, goes to germany as well.
Embt2022.
Someone would need to correct me.
But currently only japan and italy would be left out of aps tankd, with them having bo immediate option on hand and only being in development.
Bro where do you get your numbers from
All the data I used for these are directly from Rheinmetall Waffe Munition (RWM) and/or Rheinmetall Nitrochemie
DM 73 is quite literally the same penetrator as DM 53 (and 63) but with the high-pressure SCDB propellant.
As such, for penetration calculation in L/O, the only thing that differs to DM 53 is muzzle-velocity, which is 30m/s higher compared to DM 53.
The odds of gaijin re-doing their ballistic calculation (with adjusted residual velocity at x distance) are close to 0, especially given that there are virtually 0 figures on residual velocity at x ranges for DM 73 published yet.
DM 53 A1, DM 63 and DM 63 A1 have reduced muzzle velocity compared to DM 53 and DM 73 due to the use of the “low-pressure” SCDB propellant (Guns outside of L55A1 and L44A1 whenever that comes, cannot fire DM 73, due to the increased pressure)
The primary reason for using SCDB propellants despite the lower MV is their LOVA (low vulnurability ammunition) characteristics, lower muzzle-velocity delta (less difference in MV at y temperatures) and as such, improved accuracy.

Yeah, id say the major nations are lacking identity–Germany, USA, and Russia have had their vehicles handed out more than I think they should have.
The leopard shouldn’t have the same reload as the Abrams just because it has the same gun, the Abrams has a much better layout inside the tank for the process of loading ammo something that has been documented before, and while I’m sure its not modeled in game the Abrams should also to my knowledge be able to replenish ammo to its first stage ammo rack faster as well.
