yeah 2a6ex, 2a6E, 2a6hel, they definitely feel and look real similar, but there are still some clear differences about them, 2a6hel is definitely less similar to 2a6ex,
Hel is a much more modern greece variant, where is 2a6ex is an older prototype which was literally the base for spanish 2E and aforementioned greek HEL, alongside another prototype, 2a7+ in the future, so like, there are at least differences in commander/gunner thermals and some other stuff, albeit in game, they would feel EXTREMELY similar, that much is for sure
All the same tank. They are all from 2a6EX. In the case of 2E and 2HEL they are simply more modern as they were fitted with domestic equipment in parts like radios and gen 2 thermals. They aren’t special it’s just a slightly more modern 2a6EX upgraded to what the nations needed.
There’s no actual connection between the tanks here. I mean maybe you could argue the fact it had a urban option like the PSO that was based on 2a6EX but your really stretching.
Really ? i mean, the 2a7+ was taking 2a6m hulls and upgrading them to that standart, whereas 2a6EX was the supposed next step in the 2a6 program, both being scrapped, in their respective years because of money i assume
I mean, i know im stretching but, aren’t there multiple years apart between Hel and EX ? Wouldn’t the armor array inside potentially change ? Cause i think i remember hearing Hel having better protection than EX, courtesy of being newly built(more modern, duh)

Not really. 2a6EXs last showcase for export was in 2009 in turkey that’s 1 year after 2HEL was brought I can’t remember 2a6EXs original showcase I think it was like 2002 ish area but don’t quote me on it.
I personally don’t believe any of theses claims. At The point 2a6HEL was brought the standard hulls were D techs from 6-8 batch leopards nothing to say the Greeks upgraded it further and probably couldn’t of kmw was incredibly specific with what exports could do with their leopards.
And btw we are talking a gap of like 8 ish years max and the leopards post cold war weren’t exactly upgraded alot until 2a7+ in like 2010-11
