Gajin, answer to your misdeeds

I’m NOT about to beat around the bush with this, Gaijin. You WILL answer for the blatant disrespect you’ve shown toward this player base. This “9th Wave” update has got to be one of the worst updates I’ve experienced in my 5+ years of playing this game. You have shown a lack of respect toward the players, vehicles, and others on this platform, and we are all genuinely sick and tired of this being constantly shoved in our faces.

I’m personally going to go over a multitude of situations from the past and present that I’ve and a multitude of others have experienced in this game, starting with bugs
With the newest updates, bugs are bound to happen, but the bugs in this game CANNOT be simply overlooked with how genuinely bad they are. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember all the horrendous bugs we’ve had in the past year and a half, going back to the “Leviathans” update, which, personally, IS the most bugged update we’ve had in the past couple of years.

Starting off with missiles doing literally ZERO damage to others whatsoever—I have LOADS of clips, as well as others, that show more than five missiles traveling right through someone’s airframe. HOW exactly do you mess up the game’s code so badly that one of the main features of high-tier battles is rendered useless? You cannot make this type of stuff up.

Oh, and guess what? IT RETURNED THIS UPDATE. So this is, on record, the SECOND time this has happened. You would think after the first time, you’d know how to move around it and prevent it from happening—but oh no, not these devs. These guys I’m guessing just don’t see it our just don’t care

But I digress. The next bug, and a little less significant, is the fact that you were able to spawn multi-vehicle SAMs on virtually any building you pleased, including high skyscrapers like on the Spaceport or Sun City maps, giving missiles a very big boost for taking out enemy aircraft. But like I said, it’s very minor (unlike others—cough cough invisible Gepards in heli PvE cough cough). Oh and who can forget the tree on japan that if hit would send you at mach Jesus to the middle of istanbul.

And if they try to sweep this under the rug, here are clips for you.

But anyway, onto the bugs of “9th Wave”—and oh boy, this is a long one. Starting off: in the span of time between the dev server being reopened and the update release, how many things did you decide, “Oh yes, we’re going to break this”?

Over the span of multiple extensions, reopenings, and delays, you guys STILL managed to break the game. This has happened so frequently that my friends and I have started trying to predict what you’re going to break next—and it’s astounding how many things we’ve gotten right.

But anyway, back on topic: you broke missiles again, made the SLAM-ER so bad that its GPS practically doesn’t exist in-game, ARH missile launches aren’t showing up, among many, many other things. Truly, when will this end?

(And you better believe I’ve got clips for this.)

oh did I mention that the slam er cruises so high that it flew by the pearly gates and dapped God up ? anyway onto the next part about the neglect to literally everything in your game

This next part is about the blatant negligence toward your game—so bad that I feel like the developers don’t even play it themselves. Now I’m going to bring up things that BVVD said in his Q&A video, which did infamously BAD with the community and very clearly reflects the overall character of Gaijin Entertainment.

Starting off with a rather minuscule topic, but one that definitely needs to be addressed: the helicopter problem. It is almost impossible to spade them, let alone grind them using helicopters alone. It’s mind-numbing how long it truly takes just to research a single modification in Heli PvE mode.

At the 16:16 mark in BVVD’s Q&A video, something was said that really ticked me—and a lot of other helicopter players—off. Our only true helicopter mode was described as having no problems, and that it “already has a lot of variety and objectives.” That statement alone made me realize that Gaijin devs truly do not play this game.

If you have played Heli PvE, you KNOW how bad, repetitive, and boring it is. There are exactly three different objectives in that mode: kill AI, capture zones, and rocket bases (so much for “variety”) And the battle ratings are definitely no better in the slightest you can play the ah1f with missiles that only have 3.75 range and find yourself paired up with a full loaded apache guardian with 16 FnF missiles. How is this ok you make it so hard to grind vehicles that nobody plays it that is the whole reason heli PvE is dead its impossible to grind anything you could be in a match the full time and only research about 75% of a modification but I digress once more you clearly just want that mode to die so at this point just remove it. ow let’s talk about something that really shows the negligence and ignorance on full display: bug reports. This has got to be one of the most frustrating, poorly handled systems in the entire game.

People submit bug reports with actual EVIDENCE, time, and effort put into them—and what happens? The people responsible for reviewing them come back with some of the most downright ridiculous responses imaginable. And no, I’m not slandering anyone—I’m calling it exactly how it is.

I’d bet that over 70% of reports get rejected with excuses like “it’s not a bug” or the evidence “doesn’t match Gaijin sources.” And that right there is the problem—what even ARE these “sources” when real, documented evidence gets ignored?

There was a case where something on the F-5E’s flight model needed to be fixed, and the person reporting it used the ACTUAL F-5E manual—real documentation. And what was the response? “It doesn’t match in-game sources.” So let me get this straight—the real F-5E manual doesn’t match Gaijin’s sources?! What kind of logic is that?

At that point, it stops being a mistake and starts looking like straight-up ignorance. How do you even justify that? You claim this game is realistic, yet we constantly see fictional weapons, fictional vehicles, and completely questionable flight models.

But I won’t even go too deep into that right now—because the next part is where I’m really about to put my heart and soul into this.

RUSSIAN BIAS

Now this is a topic that’s been talked about a LOT. I used to treat it like a coping mechanism whenever I got killed—but at this point, I genuinely believe it exists. And this update only makes it more obvious.

In the last dev stream, BVVD said that the BUK-M3 was somehow “underperforming.” Because of that, you thought it was a good idea to add an SPAA with 48 missiles—and on top of that, give it near-hypersonic missiles pulling 75 Gs. I’m genuinely fed up at this point.

Let’s be real: the BUK wasn’t underperforming. The issue is that some players don’t know how to use it. The second they have to do anything other than hold W and rush straight to spawn, they fall apart. The moment patience or positioning is required, they completely shut down.

You somehow managed to take a SAM system with a 70 km range, strong tracking, and a large proxy fuse and make it look bad. That’s not a balancing issue—that’s a skill issue. And instead of addressing that or helping players actually learn how to use the vehicle, you came up with some BS justification to add something even more broken.

The craziest part? Even a lot of competent Russian mains didn’t want it. They’ve literally said it themselves.

Meanwhile, look at the imbalance:

  • America has gotten 2 SPAA in the past year and a half
  • France has gotten 1
  • Italy, Sweden, Israel, and Japan have gotten 2 or less

And Russia?

  • 2 Shilkas
  • Tor-M2
  • BUK-M3
  • And now another Pantsir

At what point does this stop? Why is one nation constantly getting stacked while others are left behind?

And then there’s the BMPT. What were you even thinking?

You basically added a T-90 chassis with dual BMP-2 autocannons, strong armor, and ATGMs—at 10.7 BR. Do you realize that vehicles from 8.7 can get dragged into matches where they face this thing? Even at 9.7, you’re putting early Cold War vehicles against a 2017 AFV. How is that even remotely “realistic”?

And let’s not forget—it was intentionally placed at 10.3 at one point. So this wasn’t an accident. This was a decision.

So now Russia can run:
BMP-2M, 2S38, BMPT, BMPT-72, BMD-4, BMD-4M—all in the SAME BR range.

Why did Russia need ANOTHER overpowered AFV?

Meanwhile:

  • Germany is still missing a huge portion of its Boxer vehicles
  • America still doesn’t have multiple Stryker variants
  • Other nations are just sitting there waiting

But Russia? Oh yeah—another AFV. Another top-tier monster. Because that’s exactly what the game needed, right?

This kind of imbalance is exactly what’s making top tier worse and worse every single update—and it seriously needs to stop.
Now let’s move on to bias in the air—starting with the Su-30SM.

Show me actual sources for the Su-30SM specifically. Not the MKK, not the MKM, not the MKI, not the SM2—the Su-30SM. I can almost guarantee you can’t, because half the stuff being represented feels like it’s pulled from other variants or straight-up theoretical configurations.

But somehow that makes it into the game.

Meanwhile, we have clear, visible evidence of things like double AMRAAM racks being tested and flown, yet those don’t get added. So what’s the standard here? Because right now, it just looks completely inconsistent.

And then there’s the Kh-38MT—a weapon that was basically a mock-up—yet it makes it in. But when it comes to missing weapons for other nations, like America or China, it takes MULTIPLE dev reports just to even get acknowledged.

So what’s the point of restricting weapons for certain countries if, when you finally add them, you either make them underperform or completely gimp them?

And speaking of gimping—why does it keep happening?

This update had AMPLE time for testing, fixing, and improving weapon guidance. Yet somehow we still end up with stuff like the SLAM-ER completely losing lock because of its dive angle. And you know what makes that even worse? The fact that its GNSS guidance isn’t properly modeled at all.

So what happens? It just flies right past the target—completely missing—like it has no idea what it’s even supposed to hit.

And the cruise altitude? Why is it sitting around 600 meters? That’s high enough for every SPAA within a massive radius to detect it instantly. That is the EXACT opposite of what that weapon was designed to do. It’s supposed to fly low, avoid radar, and actually function as a standoff weapon—not announce its presence to the entire map.

At this point, it doesn’t feel like balancing—it feels like deliberate inconsistency. Why are U.S. aircraft lacking so many of our CAS weapons?

You added the AGM-154 ONLY to the new F-16—WHY??? Every top-tier U.S. aircraft in the game is capable of carrying it. And don’t say it’s a time issue—you had plenty of time during the dev server phase to implement it across other aircraft.

But no—you chose not to.

Instead, you just do your own thing and leave the rest of the lineup lacking for no reason. At this point, it doesn’t even feel like a limitation—it feels intentional. fix it
Now let’s talk about you guys making decisions for us, apparently.

Why are you deciding what we do and don’t want? We asked for the F/A-18F for the U.S., and you determined it’s “copy-paste” and wouldn’t add any real value to the game.

But here’s my question: are YOU the ones who are going to play it? Are YOU the ones grinding it out? Are YOU the ones spending SL on it?

Because if not, then honestly—you don’t get to decide what we value.

Some of us, myself included, want it for the aesthetic alone. And at this point, the model already exists in the game, so there’s genuinely no downside to adding it.

So why not just give players what they’re actually asking for instead of shutting it down for reasons that clearly don’t reflect the community? And another thing—the whole strategic bomber situation.

We don’t care if they’re the pinnacle of the aviation trees or not. That’s not the point. They’re cool, people want them, and they would add something different to the game.So why are they being held back?
At this point, it just feels like another unnecessary restriction. Just add them already and let players enjoy them instead of overthinking it.

Now onto Sim—which you all have COMPLETELY forgotten about.

Starting with the maps: you haven’t added a new Sim map in YEARS. We’re stuck playing the same ones over and over again, and it’s beyond repetitive at this point. Some of these maps are ridiculously small—around 70 km top to bottom. On Tunisia, it’s so cramped that you can literally fire missiles into the enemy spawn straight from your own base. How is that acceptable for a mode that’s supposed to be immersive and realistic?

And don’t even get me started on the servers. The amount of packet loss (PL) in matches is absolutely ridiculous. It’s honestly insane how long you’ve let this go on without properly addressing it.

STOP focusing on just two modes. Sim and Naval EXIST.

Sim players are constantly overlooked, and it shows. And while you’re at it, add new objectives—because doing the exact same tasks over and over again is painfully boring.

Finally, my last point: listen to your players.

You constantly deny and shut down the community over different issues, and out of everything we’ve asked for, only a small fraction has actually made it into the game. Meanwhile, so many ideas get dismissed or ignored entirely.

If this game is going to truly survive, listening to your player base is KEY.

Because with the way things are going right now, I honestly don’t see War Thunder staying active over the next five years if nothing changes.

Hopefully, this post opens your eyes—but at this point, I don’t even know.

🤓👆 erm actually BMPT is 11.3

Surprised this has been up so long before being locked. All in all the game is horrible and always has been from day one, disregarding the hype and fancy graphics it is a horrible game play experience, buggy, unbalanced, random and full of cheating.

After it was moved from 10.3 to 10.7 then from 10.7 to now 11.3

I am aware. It’s 11.3 now

I agree with your sentiments but sadly, they fall upon deaf ears.

The past couple updates have been terrible, i just feel that gaijin doesn’t give a shit about the game anymore, at this point they seem to just want to add as much content as they can with lots and lots of ctrl C ctrl V planes, missiles and etc just to cashgrab ppl money, all this brings up another issue they probally will never fix which is the complete unballance and terrible compression on higher BR’s , where if you get on your F4J or any 12.0 plane and get an full uptier you suddenly facing fox 3’s, irccm fox 2’s and much better fox 1’s .

Im pretty much done with anything above 10.0 since its pretty much just bs trown over and over into the playerbase.

All this unballance brings me back onto the AMX A1A, which for some reason was released at 11.3 and even with ppl telling its not even 11.0 material gaijin kept at 11.0 , and guess what nobody bought it because its shit, it was a big stab on the Brazilian community where the one and only Brazilian vehicle in the game got deleted because it was so bad that nobody wanted it…

I feel that at this point its just not worth playing war thunder if you want to get modern vehicles till they decompress the 12.0 above and maybe start doing something for the community instead of trowing junk into the game…

This post will be ignored because ignorance is the best thing anyone in gaijin can take part in

Damn, the author really put all my thoughts into words.

Don’t forget “If people play the game, it means the game is perfect no fault or bugs at all” response of the owner

Only thing that matters to this Russian company is money and how much they can sweep through despite sanctions. That’s why nothing is improved. Start hitting the public reviews and their place in store ratings and shit changes.

The company is registered in Hungary and has been for a long time, so there are no sanctions

Only within the last three years did they register in Hungary. Prior to that they were based in Moscow.

Hey they left Russia… For Hungary take from that what you will

Mm I wonder what Hungary is famous for in the EU…

We need BR Balancing!!!

u just explained what i do 99% of the time when i open WT: sit in my hangar looking at my Su-30SM2 and doing NOTHING.
the thought of playing a single match is just too scary for me at this point.

The game is dying, this update is a great example as the content is weak while all gameplay is the same.

Isn’t changing stats after someone purchased the item is same as scam in EU regulations?

Valid points in a multitude of sections, albeit I am sure everyone could add more into the list… myself and variable others in regards to assault modes (heli pve included).

Why we have the last bracket in air assault as 6.7-12.7 as well as no bracket for higher, its just silly for example in an f3h vs a f16…

Sadly, constructive discussion regarding these things usually gets either removed entirely, ignored, locked, or just refused (as such as the QA duscussion regarding pve).

I always try to have hope that the direction will be favorable for the player community, but even in that regard many of us are divided on some topics (non game flawed)

I doubt anything will change, as their commitment to listening to the community has faded fast since the last ‘negative’ event that stirred their nest.
