Players will always find the path of least resistance.
This is a grind game after all.
And designing a mission for one player is something different than for many players.
It will be impossible for one or simple steamrolling for 5 players.
And, main point: Gaijin will never put so much effort (=money) in such a unpopular game mode.
Maybe, but it is much harder to do it in PvE since you cannot agree with AI.
Yes, for sure, but still possible.
I have already proposed to give reward for creating missions. WT fans have a lot of potential, in my opinion.
I would purchase good PvE campaigns like in DCS.
Many Sim players are dedicated and could provide really valuable input or mods.
But I think not even the management for this is worth it for our small community.
SIM is a little hungry creature that exists somewhere in the dark periphery and feeds on some crumbles falling down from RB. It’s the only game mode worth playing in my opinion, but the majority of the playerbase thinks different and sees it as some weird nerd mode.
As long as this is the case, things will not change.
That’s why my only realistic hope is that they fix at least the biggest issues in EC and don’t mess it up even more.
The thing is, each one of us can point on bugs in sim and devs still don’t fix them. They even state that low clouds are fixed in air missions, and I am happy to declare that our airfields are still covered by massive clouds even on the flattest maps like Sinai
Yeah, that’s true. I am just yapping to make this topic bigger and stay on top of the forum :)
The problem is, the current EC was designed by a single game developer/designer. It seems to me that the decisions were made not by finance staff, but rather by devs who are into this game. And now we just don’t have such pleasure to have developers playing their own game
Why do people on the forum start acting like they’re mad at the whole world? And in the end, they begin to write nothing but exaggerated messages without any constructive input.
Is SIM mode not popular? It’s already more popular than DCS or IL-2.
Do the developers not read the SIM threads? Oh, they definitely do. They probably don’t play SIM themselves, and that’s why they don’t fully understand what to do with it—that’s a problem. But angry, whiny, and provocative posts on the forum won’t solve this issue.
One of the simplest things Gaijin can do to make sim better is to remove the spawn cost for your first spawn. It’ll make it worth it to spawn again if you lose 13k the moment you die, even if you were only alive for a few minutes.
Add a fleet to the simulator battles for aircraft with torpedoes and anti-ship missiles.
Where there is a sea, add an aircraft carrier or aircraft carriers for naval aircraft. This will diversify the game. And make Jet Blast Deflector on aircraft carriers.
Yes, that is another solution. But my concern here is, that it would make the sim reward system even more complicated.
They could just raise the cap and make it more linear, so it would make sense to get more than 600 points in 15 min. and give some increased “per action” rewards, decorated with a landing multiplier to encourage survival and rtb. Its absolutely stupid that you can go negative with a 5:1.
Slow progress without premium is ok, but not being able to afford the spawn is just a game design flaw.
You can find all sorts of topics on this forum regarding SIM mode. Constructive, angry, neutral and satisfied, none of them seem to work. So what should we do from your point of view? How to reach out for Devs?
Can we at least get the correct AI assets with the appropriate BR for the right sides? It’s a bit disturbing to bomb your own models or more problematic - lurking on enemy AI planes that look like your own side, less experienced players tend to shoot down their own planes because of this and the difference in BR on high eras means that you get very few points, making the game down to air combat if the aircraft can’t destroy the entire battlefield or several bases in one go
There is also something to be done about the blue side of Denmark, Ark Royal has no AA options and this can often be exploited when tickets are low and the entire lobby is doing missions to win the match
