Buddy, that’s not at all the reason. PVE players ruin the game economy by exploiting, botting, etc. It’s totally gone over your head, apparently. As well as when they cry because they can’t “grind the game in peace” and wish to change the game to fit them, and tell other’s “PVE only” in the game chat. And if you break it they will TK you, bring more friends to ruin the match and mass false report you for simply doing PVP as War Thunder is intended to be. There’s another game called Microsoft flight simulator that might be more your style.
War Thunder is a PVP game, you can bomb but you got to defend yourself and have fun with it. It is a PVP game, if you can’t stomach that fact then play something else.
So by getting points, we’re exploiting the game? Dang, how dare we gain RP by doing what the game wants us to do: bomb bases. What’s next, using a SPAA is exploiting the game because they have missiles and can take down aircraft? Seriously, tell me what’s so exploitative over playing the game. I’d love to hear your justification for this one.
Aren’t you also demanding the game be catered to how you play, with demanding PVP and complaining about people bombing? Apparently that went over your head too. It’s not our fault that bombing bases and getting kills grants the same exact RP every 15 minutes. So yeah, it doesn’t really matter what happens in Sim, since either you get a kill and then you have to hide at base just for things to matter, or you bomb a base and then go back. Since no one actually plays Sim, it’s easier to just bomb a base and make money that way.
Blame Gainin for putting in such a terrible system. No, actually blame PVP players for that since they’re the ones that begged Gaijin to destroy the economy because how dare people bomb to grind. “It requires no skill” is the rallying cry behind it. At least PVE players just say, “just leave us be, there’s plenty of other modes to play if you want kills”, PVP players just demand everyone sweat as much as them to “prove” they can play the game.
Plus, bombing is just easier to grind through a tree. I did my spading, realised it wasn’t worth it, so now I just bomb. Six top tier nations, no real shame.
Eh, I believe the only fun I really have in this game is Customs, especially when we put it in Sim and random people join us, then cuss us out for having “unplayable servers” or accusing us of having lag switches.
Gaijin also needs to do something about allowing randoms to join. I shouldn’t need to password protect because some weirdo wants to join my game.
WT is 99.999% PvP.
PvE part is simple killing targets with almost no scenario. Just the reduction of enemy points, nothing more. This is very far from PvE.
I’d love to fly the F2H-2 and F9Fs (and hortens one day), but they’re too expensive for me (15k repair cost adds up fast with the way useful actions work). Occasional F3H-2 and Crusaders. Usually I stick to my props though.
Escorting and keeping bombers safe in a mustang across dover is fun. Keeping an IL-2 safe as it bombs tanks is also fun. Flying a flight of hellcats & corsairs to bomb boats is fun (if entirely unrewarding economically). Flying a demon to protect your carrier against yaks and sukhois is fun. Flying cover for junkers over Ruhr is fun.
All of the above is comparable to games like Dota where your winning condition is destroying the enemy ancient and achieving that by destroying their towers. We don’t have an ancient per se, but we have tanks and bases and airfields and carriers and and a.i planes whose loss drains significant tickets (a bomber formation is worth 800 tickets from “Objective complete!” alone from when I tried to test it - went from 7.4k to 6.6k). Victtory is achieved by preventing the enemy from accomplishing their objectives and helping your team accomplish yours. This is what makes sim appealing beyond the plane actually doing what you want it to do and getting to see pretty instruments (usually, some look painted on) - you feel like you have a purpose to your flying rather than take off, fly headfirst into a furball or sideclimb, get 1-3 kills and then go next and repeat.
I’m not shooting those bf109s for no reason, I’m protecting my bomber buddies. I’m not hunting those yaks and sukhois, I’m protecting my carrier.
This is not actually PvE. Though I admire you gameplay style as team player.
Nobody will cover you at top tier and it is not easy to do.
When I was talking about PvE I meant mostly assualt planes. There is no real PvE for them.
That is why I create my own mission to enjoy gameplay.
For me sim EC is good enough only to bomb bases to grind planes.
I never once complained about bombing in this thread. You’ve become a waste of my time.
Infact. This thread is meant to start a discussion on updating sim EC. So Gaijin can see it and do something like adding better objectives, new maps, etc. You make no logical sense telling me im anti-bomber when I’m the one that created this thread. Make it make sense dude.
Want to fix the economy? Get rid of “Useful Actions”, give rewards when things happen, and also allow console players to play Sim with crossplay disabled.
The issue isnt bombing bases, that is fine. The issue is this:
Expecting to be able to bomb without being shot at by the other team. Sim is PvPvE. If you want to fly a ground attacker or even a fighter and just exclusively bomb;. then dont get mad when someone shoots you down
No, it got exploited like hell, which is why it was changed. Useful actions isnt necessarily all that bad, but rather has some major flaws that can readily be addressed.
Exploited like hell? How so? Because only Xbox players played it? How evil! Damn, I guess everyone was exploiting every video game pre-2020 by that logic.
If rewards were handed out in the same manner as they are in RB. Then the zombers that suicide ram the AFs spamming rockets to farm score for events would now also strart generating large amounts of SL and RP. In fact you would likely see people always just J-ing out after dropping their bombs on targets, back in the day, I think it was heavy bombers which is why they had repair costs 2 to 3 times that of a fighter, but these days it would likely be done by aircraft like the F-111s.
You also had lobbies filled with dumby accounts on one team that would just sit on the runway, and on the other someone would come along a strafe them all, killing them all.
The unique nature of EC just has major room for exploitation.
My suggestions for fixing the current SB economy which imo, is all about survival rather than min-maxed performance
Wow, you are telling me that a game that forces you to grind has people that only want to grind? What a sin, you know, I believe Jesus actually mentioned something about, “thou shalt grind a game” so that must be a sin. I’ll say my Hail Mary’s, just let me grab my rosary.
Okay, and we still have that happening with PC players. I mean, wasn’t it like 6k players got banned for botting a month or two ago? Obviously nothing changed, so let us Xbox players have the ability to play Sim matches by ourselves, without having PS and PC. I play with my crossplay off because I do not aspire to deal with PC players. Weird how gaming had crossplay disabled for literal decades and nothing bad happened. Also weird how cheating seemed to be on the rise post-crossplay. I certainly noticed it.
Either or, I quite like your ideas. I can argue semantics, but I do believe the cap should be shortened to 10 minutes, we should receive our partial because it would be nice to see how much we get (beyond crashing and seeing we get like 7k RP). But I still believe the capped points is absolutely useless. They’re basically forcing you to bomb a base/eliminate a person, and then sit and do nothing at the airfield until you get your stuff. You also get like 3k for landing, so I don’t see why you have that added in.
