The bar is in the earth’s core right now. You couldn’t set it any lower.
Fair enough on that one. (air is my focus not ground)
It is ultimately a compression issue, but I do agree with Panter that when BR placements are made, the vehicles historical context should be considered. I.E Chieftain was very resistant to tank shells of the era IRL. Therefore it should be one of the harder tanks till kill with tanks of a similar BR. (but not unkillable)
Historical accuracy kills half of all minor nations low tiers and only panders to a few nations that were more advanced.
I’ve been clamoring for… something like EIGHT years now that we. need. new. gamemodes. It goes for tanks too. It’s goddamn 2024 and tanks are STILL “capturing” chalk circles on the ground.
There’s a ton of FPS with the emphasis for realism nowadays. They have been for years. Freaking Star Wars Battlefront 2 from… quick google 2017 had dynamic frontlines with moving respawn points depending on which team was dominating. There’s Hell Let Loose and Squad 44, which are getting old now that does it pretty well on the WW2 side. Warthunder could easily do this with their vehicles combat system.
It doesn’t even take a lot of work. It just needs some dev working on improving the EC mode for Air RB and giving better maps with more relief and terrain.
Ehhh… then you get into the issues of minor nations being screwed over, as well as other issues. Chieftain is pretty damn survivable from my experience, and imo its fine. What Panter tends to complain about is stuff like the Ikv 103…
which are already really not that good at their current BR lmao
The ultimate counterexample for “historical matchmaking” is early cold war french stuff. ARL44 is a post-war project, that was made entirely so french engineers would get the experience required to design new tanks after the occupation.
There’s a ton of AMX13 design in WT that are hovering around the BR of late WW2 stuff too, because they were vehicles supposed to support the infantry and for exporting.
You clearly can’t comprehend that historical accuracy is not an on/off switch and you can have a reasonably balanced game that is reasonably historical.
PT-76 vs Tiger 1 is not reasonably historically accurate. PT-76 is one of the icons of the cold war, while Tiger 1 is one of the icons of WW2. They don’t mix.
Sweden won’t die, if IKV 103 will have to one shot early MBTs in the ammo next to the driver, instead of shooting at god damn T-34s and Panzer 4s.
Except that you could MP missiles indefinitely at <90m… So, it’s more like as if Call of Duty removed the damage output entirely and only gave it a suppressive effect.
Or just like I said… Made you bulletproof so nothing could happen until you’re within knifing distance… ie dogfight/WVR distance.
I’m happy with 60m MP reduction. What this change pretty much boils down to is it forced lawn-mowers to fly passively, instead of offensively. At 100m MP, a Gripen could bee-line it towards you over pretty much any terrain and there was really nothing you could do about it. Now with 60m MP, if they want multipath, they have to do so within the boundaries of flat terrain. Lawn-mowers are no longer as ‘oppressive’ anymore because of this which was a huge issue. With flatter maps however, we’ve both seen players rely on it and take on blue team in the Flanker racking up dozens of kills, so I think the sweet-spot for MP is slightly lower, maybe ~45m. But there’s separate issues I’d rather see implemented regarding MP like per-missile tuning so I’m not super concerned about reducing it another 10-20 meters at the moment. It’s mostly fine-tuning from here. When more modern fighters arrive however with R77-1 and AIM120C5’s They’ll likely only be fighting other Fox 3 carriers so I can see MP potentially be reduced further at that point, but this ties together with per-missile tuning.
Regarding chaff, I want notch+chaff to be an alternative. It’s an evasive manoeuvre that puts you on the defensive and allows the opponent to gain some ground, it’s a battle of energy. I was fine with chaff at higher speeds, I’m even fine with chaff+notch being powerful.
My main issue with chaff was how it acted like flaring non-IRCCM missiles at lower speeds. I once had Schehe on my 6 in a Gripen, and it literally felt like flaring R60’s when he fired off all of his derby’s. I wasn’t even in a notch and not even that close to a stall.
The Lancia 3Ro’s HESH can OSK every top tier MBT in the game. Your point has no merit.
And bam it’s dead.
Now we have the RALT reading as well. It will be dead-easy for people to see what alt they are truly at and stay below that mark. I think MP could be reduced a little further now as there doesnt need to be a buffer zone for any uncertainity for what alt you are at.
The point is historical accuracy being one of the factors.
And? It doesn’t change the fact that it has HEAT-FS, a 2 plane stabilizer and a 6.5-5 second reload.
One nation (or one specific plane) shouldn’t crush the entire meta.
It doesn’t. Keep crying though. Dig your head far enough into the sand and you’ll maybe get it far enough out of your ass to see the F-15C isn’t even the boogeyman you claim it is. It’s not even the best jet in the game! That goes to the F-15JM, but that goes against your whiner fantasy. And it even can play for the red side.
But lets be real, the USSR could get PESAs and the R-77-1 before any others, the J-10A could turn out to be the best jet in the game after the patch, the PL-8B the best IR missile, and the germans could get the F-18 first. You’ll just move the goal posts and start bitching about something else as to why the red side is “so oppressed”
A 50 cal. A 50 cal can kill it.
I don’t care, 2S25 can be killed by a 50 cal too.
“Nuh uh” ahh argument lmao
Oh yeah, that too.
Honestly, I’m very impressed with how the devs have handled Fox 3 implementation. They deserve some praise for it.
Tree heights too tall?
Gaijin fixed it
Stock grind being problematic?
Gaijin fixed it
People complained about compression?
Gaijin gave us one of the biggest decompressions yet, aimed at top-tier/fox 3’s.
And now they give us radar altimeter too. With an option for it to light up when you’re at multipath-height.
Though RALT is a tad broken on Dev server at the moment
This is from test flight, flying over the ocean.
Altimeter also seems to be broken there lol
None better than yours, you just claim X tank vs Y tank would be so horribly unbalanced, that the Y tank would never ever kill the X tank, without any real arguments other than “frontal armor is too strong for my liking”.
You know the YouTuber Zenturion7? Go watch all his shorts on historical accuracy, I think he has 13 by now.
