Fix ItO 90M in asb

With the last major update you have overdone it a wee bit. I play Air sim only and have to say that the implementation of the ItO90 as Airfield Defense is breaking the game play. Let me explain. I do a lot of base attack runs for a steady supply of points for the team and was difficult enough to destroy a base that was close to an enemy airfield I needed to develop quite special approach patterns to reach the points and not being shot down by the Roland 1 system with a range of 6.5 km. With the implementation of a system with double the range you made it cl impossible to reach the majority of bases at all. No matter from which direction or altitude I try to approach I’ll be shot down before I even come near the point I want to engage. It doesn’t matter to me to be shot down when I’m not careful but the way it is now is very frustrating and costs a lot of silver lions
Please consider to change the airfield defences to a little less dominant system or relocate the bases to a place the can still be close but not as close as it is now

These anti-aircraft weapons are killing more players than the players are killing each other… Kill-stealing bot. LOL

What are you flying?

And what maps(s)?

Most people seem to be hyped due to this being an anti-zomber measure. I dislike the practice too but we just can’t afford to lose ANY players at this point. The situation is critical and can be seen after the patch dropped and the event ended. At the very least the maps which have several minibases inside death zones (like Denmark) should be removed from circulation.

Why remove them? Simply dont join matches there if you dont like the map.

What do you think most people do when they see that full-mixed Denmark is the only active game in a tier? They do go play something else…like other game modes…or other games.

That’s what’s happening. ´

It’s sad to see a “master of the game” without empathy. He just keeps saying things like, “fly like this,” “do this or that.” I sit on a YouTube channel watching (in this case, reading) gameplay. He’s only here to contradict the player base and say that if it’s good for him, it will be good for everyone else.

Tag someone in your comment who can make gameplay decisions. I don’t even argue anymore or comment on his comments. It’s become annoying.

So aparently it is still played.

One can also start another match with another map. If you don’t like the maps that are in the lobby, start another one yourself. And if DK is unpopular and others more popular, it should have no trouble getting players…

But that said, I am also sceptical about the addition of the ItO as it was done here is the right way to adress the issue, and may actually backfire.

Is that jab aimed at me? = /

He can still go for the spaa on the runways. they give stupid ammounts of rewards as you get an ground kill as well as damage to the airfield

Denmark is such a map where in the top left and bottom right bases spawn literlly within 5km of an airfield

I disagree, competent players have no problem playing around the ITO in asb.
Again a few days ago I teamed up with a due and i destroyed the ITOs with AGMs and he bombed the airfield and we both made bank.
I don´t get what peoples issues are except that bases spawn to close the airfields, which i get

Sure, it’s still possible, especially if you team up (which is something still a lot of players shy from…).

But I also still think especially for Denmark it’s bad:

As 80-100% of the red airbases are crammed into the North-West part of the map, there are overlapping SAM bubbles there, which make attacking the bases up there quite tricky if you don’t have anybody taking care of the SAMs.

And for smaller maps (which I admittedly never play at high tier), this will obviously even be worse.

How far can one actually loft dumb bombs? Anyone know?

And is there any official statement or inofficial experience how fast destroyed air defense assets are repaired?

Depends how good your cockpit and ccrp is. My friend did it with the bombing sight of the buccaneer from really far away (not 12km though)

Denmark only has 2 ITOs per airfield unlike other maps with have 3.
So with just 4 atgms like with a harrier for example you can completely disable 2 airfields for like 7 minutes till they respawn

But i agree the airfield placement is really questionable

Also airfields don´t always spawn like that, it´s common for the bottom (blue on your ss) to have an airfield in G2 aswell
As well as red side also normally has 2 airfields in B2 not only 1

7 minutes is a quite small window…

I think higher up it’s less of an issue, because stand-off weapons are more widespread, but at 10.7 there’s not too many options. Bucc’s, Tigers and Rhinos, basically. Maybe A-10, but those suffer from low speed for such missions.

I grabbed that number out of the air ngl. i don´t know how they take to respawn but long enough that if i strike them, land, rearm, fly back that they are still dead

I would say that is something good. Like that gives these vehicles a purpose ngl. But i agree they should maybe nerf the range artificially for these BRs or put something there with the same range but a slower missile like a TOR. (which will have whole nother problem as a lot of jets RWR can´t see the tor launch xD)

I think atm the Buccaneer may be the best for 10.7 as it can carry Pave Spike that actually allows the AGM’s to be used at a safe distance. Without targeting pod one has to get too close for comfort for the AGM’s seeker to be able to find, ID and lock the SAMs.

As the Aj.168 is far from a guaranteed kill, one Buccaneer may not be enough to take care of one Denmark airbase…

Then only in 11.7 then more aircraft have similar (and better) capabilities for SEAD. (Sigh, if only F-4E’s could carry Pave Spikes as IRL…)

Not really, the atgm view has more zoom then the pod and you can just shoot it with a point lock, but ye its not ideal.

11.3 has a lot of seed aircraft like the harriers, jaguar etc

Ah the Harrier T-10, yes. But everything else has no stand-off capability.

Will have to experiment with A-7E and Walleye, how far those can reach…

Not in my experience, but then maybe VR sight stutter may affect this as well. With the Buccaneer and Aj.168, I could recently only lock a Sam from too close, with Pave Spike that was possible from farther away. Certainly gave me more time to react and thus survive…

Su24m i think also can ye but i agree with ur point

Idk but a targeting pod should not change the point lockon range
