Playing in a full uptier is naturally very difficult. Because if it wasnt, then the vehicle would clearly be under BRed.

Su-24 and the Su-25/39 can only face F-16s or Mirages in full uptiers, and what is especially funny about that complaint is that in 10.3-11.3 or 10.7-11.7 lobbies, Redfor has the overwhelming advantage when it comes to the strength of fighters, not alot can really go toe to toe with a Mig-23MLD until 12.0.

Neither can face the EFT, but complaining about that is especially funny given that Germany is the most popular of the 3 EFT nations and is basically always on Redfor with the soviets. So im not sure what the complaint there is about. Especially as the Su-30SM2 is actually the better aircraft.

Meanwhile, im trying to play the Tornado GR1, a higher BR than the Mig-23MLD, despite being way weaker, and quite happily making it to bases and back again. Its not what you fly, but how you fly it, its easy to actually do CAS in ASB in even subsonic aircraft if you arent flying direct to target and failing to employ basic tactics like terrain masking.

As person who grinded 3 usa plane lines with av8b na in asb, I can say you are doing something wrong like going through obvious routes, not using terrain.

Don’t forget Fa18 and F-14, I tried once to play with the Su-24 in the 12.3-11.3 I couldn’t make it 10 km outside the airport before I got jumped

F-14s are under BRed, they have a legacy BR from when there wasn’t a 12.3 bracket and Gaijin hasnt fixed it yet.

And sure the argument can be made the F-18s are under BRed, but likewise playing a Tornado GR1 against 12.3 Mig-29s is also hard work, that is the nature of uptiers (actually so is playing hte GR4 and thats the same BR). Also the F-18s are on both sides. Last time I tried to play a 12.3/12.7 lobby, both teams were made up of 90% F-18s

But if you are playing the Su-24 or Su-25 in a 11.3-12.3 lobby. Then sure you are gunna struggle, you are meant too.

(though years ago, I did routinely play the GR1 vs F-16s and Mig-29s and it was in a waaaaay worse state back then, way weaker than the Su-24 right now, and it was a chore, but I could still make it a too a base 90% of the time, and back home to re-arm about 75% of the time, so I think most of the issue is that OP is not only expecting 11.3 ground attackers to be effective aircraft in 11.3-12.3 lobbies, but that OP is not even trying to play defesnive)

If it wasn’t for the 15min system it wouldn’t be that bad, but if I know I will not get any rewards if I die in less that 15min it destroys the game for me

I have mixed opinions about the economy system in ASB.

On one hand, I like the incentive being on surviving rather than min-maxing what you are doing per sortie. It is way more profitable to do one thing well, and then get back home than it is to try and do 10 things badly.

But the system has 2 major flaws

  • It is really really easy to overcap, it doesnt take much where doing more in a 15 segment rewards nothing
  • If you die after doing something well, and before the activity time has even started acruing you get nothing

So I would propose a hybrid system.

Certain actions would reward a partial immediate payout (Base kills, completing objectives, PvP kills, certain PvE Targets) and also some activity time.

All remaining actions (damaging bases, kill most AI targets, etc) would reward activity time as normal.

That way, if you get a couple of A2A kills and then die, you dont walk away with nothing. But not as much as youd get for surviving.

I would also increase the maximum amount of activity you can earn, maybe as far as doubling what it takes to get to 100%, but also increases the activity time payout, then ontop of that, add the ability to actually go over 100%, but with heavy diminishing returns. But that too would increase the amount you could actually earn.

These changes would then maintain the incentive to survive, as the bonus is notable for doing so, but doesnt render sorties entirely and completely wasted if killed before you can acrue any SL/RPs

Coupled with other notable changes like getting rid of Diminishing returns and the rewards would be rather decent imo

But the UA timer starts immediately???

It is better to survive 15 minutes and return then die after 10 minutes, which is still better than dying after 5, which still gives some rewards?

And if anyone wants to play as bots and “relax AFK fly”, they should consider buying premium time on sale to insure SL stays non-negative

When I am stock the game forces me to land and wait to get the Useful Actions and then take off and land immediately, because trying to stock grind in Sim is painful so of course I am gonna wait in the airport so I can get the full rewards

Yes I do that as well whenever I get unlikely score in stock

With AFK flying I meant the people going straight from AF to a base / other team’s AF, at like 1 km alt

If I could napalm bases in stock superhornet than the strike jets at lower BRs can do it too :D

The B-52 and other big planes I am sorry for however, flying these is sad I imagine.
They do have guns, third person view, and the air alert hack, which is often enough to deter most but the dedicated, with some effort, but here we go back to the no effort part

If the realistic br is playable I will grind the early bombs so I can bomb in Sim, but in top tier I prefer playing in sim with no chaff and 2 R77 than playing realistic

I was exclusively ASB, then got bored of the same maps over and over again, and the extra effort (setting up HOTAS, and if I really can be bothered, headtracking, harder controls, etc etc) so largely just play the odd match of ARB these days, short, fast matches. But im mostly playing naval at the moment, because im bored of air period at the moment.

Sounds like a TEAM problem. Who in their right mind thinks getting 8 attackers or bombers against fighters (designed for the only purpose of destroying aircrafts) it’s a W strategy?

Is not like you only have 1 airfield.

tbh if you wanna farm just get 3 more friends to play with you in a new lobby and that’s it. 🥹

Both Netz are 12.3 in Sim, I was surprised the other F-16 with only AIM-9L are still 12.7

Gaijin won’t give you the same progress in PVE gamemode, idk if you have ever touched helicopters PVE, but RP gain in this mode is very poor.

They really should give us alternative modes where we can grind for similar progress. PVP is just painful for air rb. IMO I have more fun in air sim the few times I played but I need stick and throttle for that. MNK is just painful in sim
