Yeah I feel that as well, another thing stopping them from adding the F-16 to the British tech tree (at least the RNZAF F-16) would be that the F-16s in the deal were some of the most modern A/B ever built. And we can’t have Britain having the best gear, can we? I still think this would be a good option for a stop gap between the FGR.2 and the EF Typhoon.
As with the A-4K this would also put a vehicle in between the Swift and the Harrier, that can be used as a decent ground attacker. for 8.7-9.0
A-4K could be interesting, but I do wonder if we should just get EF Typhoon DA2 with limitations and add to it over time. I feel like the more they add to soviets and US, the more that we need something big and “gap fillers” just dont seem like enough these days
You’re right about that, but I’m guessing we won’t get the Typhoon for at least another year, and I don’t want to be on the back foot for all that time
That’s exactly my point, and I am hoping for something competitive that’s all I ask. I would also like to see Australian F/A-18 when they come into the game but that’s wishful thinking as well
or canadian CF-18, couple of options there. But I just feel by the time we have F-18 or F-15, then an early EF Typhoon wouldnt be all that insane. Strong yeah, but not massively ahead. No more than Mig-29/F-16 are ahead of the rest of competition. Also haerd SA had Gripen, so that as well as an option for UK and that is suppose to be coming this year, but again like the F-16/F-18 it would certainly be good, and certainly fun, but would still have an air of disapointment for me
then the us mains gonna complain again that their tree is not unique, that no other nation should get their stuff, like when we told them about german evaluated f15 /f/a 18s or sub nation possibilities

that leak i am talking about had 4 vehicles right before they were announced and that is ignoring the t90s since that one was obvious, if you count that one then 5 vehicles right

But the only way the FA2 could be added is with AMRAAM and I just cant see them adding AMRAAM to britain only, or at least to britain and maybe sweden and not adding AMRAAM to US and R-77 to soviets. Just feels out of character for Gaijin for that. But maybe we can hope the FRS1 to be finished

F16C-50 couldn’t carry Sparrows, yet here we are. It doesnt have a radar that supports SARH, it should have AIM120s. Historical loadout only goes so far with Gaijin anyway
