oh yeah because we all know thats going to ALWAYS BE POSSIBLE, say why don’t you free planes in the air as well! Then tell us how your flares must be burning hotter than the sun, and your chaff must be made out of moondust and reflect all radar too!
yes, you can it has happened people know how to abuse the sim controls i’ve fought them. they can have their plane turn by cutting off a engine and using the rudders and ire off a missile at you then go back to mouse mode all in under 3 seconds
Ok so you preflare as soon as you see them trying to get you inside WEZ, then literally do anything because you’ve automatically won the fight? hello? lmao. The su27 loses speed even if you DONT try to do silly ass turns like that. If you go full moron and yank the stick back in full real controls as hard as you can, YES! You will get that nose to turn that direction! You will also achieve 250kph!
Pre-flaring is important and effective against R73. The closer the missile gets to you, the more and more it starts to ignore flares, until eventually it becomes unflarable.
If you preflare, when he tries to lock you in the first place it will keep locking the flares and prevent a successful launch on you.
Yup. Especially important in ‘side on’ type shots too. Flares fall behind the aircraft so quickly in such scenarios that R73 just straight up doesn’t even see them.
I’ve had several people scream Russian bias at me in chat when they hammer that flare button post launch and it just does nothing lol.
just a quick question for gaijin, what is the point of adding the F15I without what make the F15I an interesting plane? if he is too advanced for the game why won’t you add some stuff that can be added to the game without any problem like idk THE LAVI FOR EXEMPLE, oh no sorry you would need to make a new model it might take you too much effort to make a new airplane for a minor nation.
I think most israely main though that when they added the F16D than the C and now the F15I. its been actually 3-4 update that I wished we get at least new stuff but still nothing exepeted worst copy and past of US tech.
Ra’am is definitely missing things in the A2G department (And me and countless other Israeli mains have been drawing attention to the fact across various sections of the forums), but it is categorically, without doubt going to be an A2A monster.
This isn’t like F16D where it was heavier with worse engines than what others got. Ra’am has monstrously powerful 229 engines. Has a great radar. Has a great missile kit. Has a great countermeasure count. It’s going to be fun. I’m going to be playing it non stop.
AA isn’t my type of thing, I don’t have fun just throwing aam and praying god that they hit or miss, I just wanted something that sticks out, something unique, sure it would be a monster but the same monster that will plague the futur of top tier, team of 5-6 F15E just going mach 2.0 at 10km of altitude throwing a bajilion AMRAAM before notching.
I want domestic things like Lavi eventually too. We all do. But really man, try and enjoy Ra’am if you can. Its legitimately going to be one of the strongest A2A planes in the game (If not the strongest), and it’s not going to be often that we Israel players will get to experience that, so try and make the most of it.
It can carry a crazy amount of GBU-39’s which look really fun to use too.
There was no BVR meta when the Su-27 released. Everyone was at ground level slinging IRCCM missiles at each others. And in that situation, 9M were the best missiles to have. BVR was such a marginal part of Air RB it could hardly be considered relevant.
It’s not that the 9M is straight up better than the R73/Magic 2 as they all have their strengths, but in a furball the 9M is the better missile to third party.
Gripen was the best plane of that update no contest possible. F-15A/F16C/Mirage 4000 were close second. The Su-27 lagged behind tremendously.
The thing is, you need a close range rear-aspect shot to get a good hit with the R73, and the Su flight model is so gimped that it will struggle to position itself for that rear-aspect shot in a 1v1. The M4000 meanwhile can very easily outmaneuver and get a rear aspect Magic 2. In the IRCCM meta it was a much better aircraft that anything the soviet could hope to use. And the Gripen was just ridiculous. You didn’t even need to turn your radar on to have a great game.
Ever since the Mig29 nerf, soviets are completely falling behind. The only competitive plane they have left at top tier is the Yak-141 because that thing’s flight model is straight up fantasy.
Compared to the Yak-141 tho. Same BR, same number of ER, but the Yak has the SMT radar and RWR, and two R27R/T which are much more reliable than freaking R60M at 12.7.
But yeah, it’s a decent aircraft, I grant you that.
