It was close, and i definitely give flight performance to F-15A.
I just think Su-27’s missile kit was so strong at that time, that this alone carried it to the crown.
F-15 felt like you had to play too defensive in BVR, and then up close, HMD + R73 was nutty.

lets pretend the SU 27 didn’t have a HMD either with 6 IR missiles that it could fire 60 degrees off the boresight, eh?
In my experience, especially pre nerf 9Ms, the 9M was much harder to flare and avoid in general. The R73 is prone to defeating itself and tumbling… R27ER was obviously strong but it was not difficult to avoid by just abusing MP then closing the distance to use 9Ms

its actually insane how us main are ruining the game for minor nation, israel haven’t got anything worth grinding since the kurnass 2000 prenerf where it was just a better F4EJ Kai. by interesting i mean something that stend out from the other version of the aircraft, atm isreal tt is a copy and paste of the US one minus the fun stuff and with shittier Fox 3.

That it could, it still also had horrendous FM with the R73 being in my experience much easier to defeat than the 9M… and neither radar missile was doing anything if the target just knew what MP was

it didn’t need a flight model, when it could fire at you and you had no idea it was firing at you when you were chasing it

All valid points. But to me, the fact Su-27 forced F15 on the defensive in BVR, and then in WVR could just pull high AOA and shove an R73 up your exhaust from insane off bore… Was a game changer.
Lack of HMD on F15A really made it feel clunky to me. Constantly had to put the nose up and leave MP safety to get launch solutions.
if by “forced onto the defensive” you meant “just made them ride the deck like everyone else is already doing” then yeah, this is pre MP nerf when it was piss easy

so once again you prove you didn’t fly when the SU 27 was out, because i had many pilots turn there plane and fire a missile at me and the missile did a 60 degree turn when i was behind them, in my F15 when i got uptiered.
