U said that the f14s are in a good br but f14iraf is much better then the f14a and they are in the same br so how u think its making sanse and fair?
F14iraf should be at least 13.0 if not 13.3

LOL! F-14A IRIAF is fine at 12.7, it’s not OP.
F-14A however is unplayable at 12.7.
The ONLY way F-14A IRIAF goes to 13.0 is if all PD Phantoms go to 12.3 to be balanced, and they only go to 12.3 if Mig-21Bis goes to 11.3.

F-14A doesn’t have AMRAAMs, it doesn’t have good engines.

Its really not. The only potent thing about the F-90 and Aim-54 I find is their large warhead which can easily cause splash damage, So you have to watch how you fly. But an F-14 is a minimal threat in BVR for me most of the time when compared to trying to deal with any other ARH missile in game.

Well thats in uptier but in downtuer it stomps mirage f1 that have matara 530f that get chaffed very easily

Out of all the aircraft you could have mentioned that “might” struggle in an uptier, the Mirage F1 certainly isnt one.

Mirage has good close range performance but not long range and when a fackour come at u with ur shitty rwr its kinda unfair

Here’s a challenge: Get into an F-14A IRIAF, I’ll get into an F-15E.
We can even play on Afghanistan large EC version.
You must get to 10,000 meters before launch, and launch at first opportunity.
You must bring full internal fuel.

The F-15E will get to 10,000 meters in less than 90 seconds.
The F-14A IRIAF will get to 10,000 meters in over 150 seconds.
With over a 1 minute difference [20km close advantage], F-15E will win despite AMRAAM having “less range” on paper.

So dont try to BVR with the Mirage F1 then.

Stick low and fast, RWR is more than good enough to alert you to a threat and when combined with the Mk2 eyeball, you should be able to see the threat. Stick all your LCMs as chaff and they’ll defeat the F-90/Aim-54s very easily.

Wait for the joust and initial merge to occur and then swoop in with Magic IIs (one of very few supersonic aircraft with IRCCM at that BR) and the 530s for close range kills. If you want something to do whilst that happens, slap a couple of bombs onto your airframe.

The expectation that you should be able to fairly fight any aircraft in a +/- 1 BR range in any regime is rather unrealistic. Heck, I was slapping the living hell out of Mirage F1s in the Tornado F3 in Sim the other day and they are same BR (well, in RB, the F1s are actually 11.7 for some reason in SB) because I was using my radar and SARH advantage to their fullest.

There isnt much that has much of an excuse to struggle vs an F-14A these days, F-104S ASA maybe, as it has pretty poor turn performance and low CM count. VIggen D/Tornado F3 can be fiddly due to the BOL issues. Maybe some of the Phantoms if you arent careful with your CM usage. But Mirage F1 is definetly not on that list

F-15E indeed has the best Fox 3s.
Also F-4S has the same RWR to F-14A, while having a closer flight performance to F-14A than F-14A does to the brick that is F-15E.
While F-4S will retain energy at 14 degrees per second and F-14A at 15ish degrees per second, F-15E will retain energy at around 17 degrees per second.

Its not the 530s that are being defeated, its your radar, if Id hazard a guess, you arent using them quite right and firing at targets that can easily notch the missile.

F-90s and Aim-54s are equally easy to defeat when fired at longer ranges, just have to watch out the F-90s at closer ranges due to their speed.

If you are relying solely on multipathing to defeat SARH/ARH missiles then thats definetly a you issue, given that most ARH missiles are fired from alt down onto a target and some of the recent changes to ARH, MP is not a reliable method for defeat anymore (and realistically, should be removed from the game these days as its ahistorical for most missiles)

Mirage F1 has more than enough performance to notch and bleed the Aim-54/F-90s of energy and when combined with a few pops of LCM chaff, should be reliably defeated. Given the BR range, Id be far more worried about the F4F-ICEs firing AMRAAM at you than the F-14As with F-90s. The difference in performance is significant.

Its really not. Aim-120 has way better performance in pretty much every single regime except ultra close range due to the speed of the missile (and even then, AIm-120 is really good in a dogfight). But I reliably slap F-14s out the sky with the Sea Harrier FA2 which is a sub-sonic aircraft armed with Aim-120s.

Thats cuz they are playing op skilless aircraft so when they face skilled pilot they are clueless much like the pantsir players

Maybe, but only because I find the average F-15E pilot really bad. Any with half a brain cell will win that fight every single time given the F-15Es far far better performance, better weapons and large weapon count. Let alone the fact the F-15E has 4x the CM count and a much better RWR.

But id be pretty confident in beating an F-14A IRAF in either the FA2 or F3 Late. Even the F3 armed with only SARH missiles would be hard work, but probably doable.

The only potent things about the F-90 I have found is:

  • High speed makes the potent at close range
  • Large warhead which can result meaningful damage even with a miss.

Given the BR we are talking about, personally, Im FAR more cautious when fighting a Mig-29 armed with R-27ERs than the F-90s. R-27ERs are faster and far harder to defeat.
