F-104S TAF Lower the BR

J8B have 4 pl5b or 2 pl11&2 pl5b without remove 23mm gun
but most of time chinese players won’t choose J8B, J7E is better for a skillful player
so yeah, F104S TAF could be one of the worst jet in 11.0, only J7D can compare with TAF

I guess you don’t even know how to look stats.

I played with it on the ARB after this topic was posted to see if it was actually terrible and it really wasn’t that bad, except for the compression. If it was spaded, 15 plays is enough times to determine if it is decent or not since I played other variants many times.

You missed it has really bad energy retention.
Also, MIG-21bis would gets big oof flight model nerfs as far as I know because of same reasons with MiG-23s and JA37s.

I don’t know about Lazur-M because I usually play MiG-21bis SAU which has huge ECM pods on fuselage but, while R-60M is all-aspect, it is not that good at 11.0BR+ and is decent at best. If the MiG-21bis had a x6 R-13M1 loadout, I would take that rather than the R-60M since “long range” missiles are really good after AAM drag nerfs in 2023 or 2022.

If you had fairly decent stats on other aircraft and the F-104S stats were bad, then there would be a lot of persuasiveness to your argument, but when you have negative KD on most jets, it is more likely your skill issue than the F-104S being awful.

At least I don’t have any negative KDs on the F-104s (F-104A, F-104G, F-104S) I have spaded so far.

Are you really comparing the 104A at 9.7 with the other starfighters?
Also, you are talking like i’m the only one who say that the 104S is bad at 11.0 while even the og poster say the same while having a better K/D than me and on top of that most review also say that is better avoid that plane.
You are clearly a better pilot than me but this doesn’t make the 104S/TAF a good plane

It’s “better to avoid” primarily because it’s the same thing as in the TT. IMO, buy whatever you want, if your gonna grind the tree, and want a premium to do it, it works fine, but it’s nothing special or OP like the 2S38.

And I played this thing when it was 10.0…

At least he was still flying the F-104S decently, so I explained why it could not lower it to 10.7BR compared to the current other 10.7 BR aircraft. The F-104G (Germany) is often taken as an example because it is still Starfighter and has the closest loadout to the F-104S of the G variants.

Even if compared to other 10.7BRs, the only aircraft that could beat the F-104S 99% of the time would be the Kfir Canard, which is cracked at its BR.

It is literally just a “rebadged” F-104S that’s in the TT. The starfighter is, at a minimum, fast, like, have you seen it’s 0ft take offs? Its ft/lbs of thrust is insane, and you can outrun most missiles from a distance as small as 1.8 km.

Yeah, anything with AIM-9L’s at 10.3 is busted. I hate the AIM-9L at 10.3 with a burning passion, there is nothing you can do about it if you don’t have flares.

but also the starfighter should not be facing 12.0 planes all the time

It can still outrun almost every missile in game if straightline at Mach 1+

Generally speaking the F-104 is too much a neucence at any lower of a BR, and too “bad” at higher BR’s. Solution: Decompression.

OP and your argument is wrong for literally the same reason.

I myself have mentioned in past posts that compared to other 10.7BRs, the F-104S will never be on par with them. You just further supported your reason that the OP is wrong with your own bad stats in Jet RB.

As you said, it is similar to the “Maus issue” and they all stem from compression.

It surely will, because like I said, any lower, it’s too busted, any higher, it’s total dogshit. It’s the only viable option to fix it, because people don’t want to face a Mach 1.5 pencil throwing AIM-9J’s at them like hotcakes and not being able to fight back because of the speed.

Can i remember to you that the maus was removed and in fact isn’t part of the regular tech tree anymore while the 104S is still here to make the italian grind even more painful
I whould call for a buff in a form of better missiles but i feel you won’t agree on that

In practice, decompression is required for all BRs higher than 8.0 BR.

Any 7.0 jets shouldn’t face against A-5 Sabre and MiG-15/MiG-15bis ISH.
Me 262 C-2b shouldn’t face against CL-13B Mk.6 which is literally best Sabre in the game.
F-104A shouldn’t face against all subsonic jets as it possible.
MiG-21SMT/MF shouldn’t face against 9.3 flareless subsonics.

Also, even if F-104S moved to lower BR, there are no ways for 9.7 jets wins against F-104S unless that F-104S player is insanly dumb.

Not really…

Everything else at the BR has AIM-9J’s, or P’s, so why would it need better missiles, it certainly doesn’t need AIM-9L’s, there’s no other option other than the AIM-9L, it didn’t operate any other missile anyway. So essentially, what I’m saying, is that that won’t happen, not saying that it wouldn’t help, but it’s not historical to the aircraft, and therefore it won’t happen.

Also; if you add a better missile, the BR will go up…

If BR is decompressed and totally balanced, I would like to see a loadout that was historically equipped such as AIM-9Ls for F-14A, R-60Ms for MiG-21MF, barring any sort of testing.

However, with the current Jet Match, I have to say definitely No. Giving AIM-9Ls for F-104S would makes it 11.3 and would suffer even more.
