correct me if im wrong, but in regards to the data presented by the battle summary,
time played refers to time you actually spent spawned and “on the field”, and mission duration how long you were in a match (including vehicle selection screen etc.)?
Which vary depending on the player’s hardware and how many times he has to respawn. Not to mention that when you die you can sometimes go immediately to the respawn menu and other times the game forces you to watch your own death replay.
when that happens i just start smashing spacebar like its my girldfriend. dont need to see how aphe shrapnel cone went from hitting the .50cal backwards into top of my jackson turret.
anyway!
well, yes. Thats why i think they should be included in “time played” or whatever we want to call it. with big enough sample size we get average value. while not perfect, it actually tells you how much time on average you spend in one game, no matter if that time is spent loading, respawning, just staring at the stupid killcam and actually getting score.
So the time in which i start the battle, for example 3.30PM? Without accounting for Time Zones,i just need to use my own one?okay okay
Regarding this,do note that i play Ground Arcade, and since i play Tier VII,i can say that the modifier is ×1.116 .
But still,i will do this thing tomorrow after i return from my doctor’s appointment, hoping that i will have the time to collect all the data. I will DM you tomorrow for further updates
True, considering that i spend an average of two minutes searching for a battle,30-40 seconds from loading to spawning and 20 seconds after the battle ended,we are talking of 3 minutes average, for 20 battles it’s an hour more that is included in the time spent
ye, i really dont take timezones into account. just look at your computers clock, or phone, and writte that down.
ah, dont worry about that. I can see what modifiers for arcade and rank VII are, i will just add them to the table
even if you dont, mighty thanks for volunteering to participate. I would gather the arcade data myself but, well, i played like 200 games of arcade in total and I would most likely get clapped at every single opportunity.
anyway, the point is that while you are correct in a sense that time you are on the field controlling vehicle is the only time you can generate score, i still think you need to count the entire time you actually spend in battle.
allow me to try and give an example.
lets say that i stay in battle for 10 minutes, but on purpose i only remain on the field controlling the vehicle for 5 minutes and staring at the respawn screen the other 5 minutes. I do this for 10 games and i manage to reach daily 22.5k score.
Now someone asks me how long did it take me to reach that score.
If i answer 50 minutes, that would be technically true because i was on the field generating score only for 50 minutes, but realistically it took me 1 hour and 40 minutes because entire battle was 10 minutes and i was sitting in respawn minute for half of the battle.
I took screenshots from every battle I got last night to do the 3rd mark, with those screenshots I could take a lot of info and put it in a spreadsheet. And there must be a way to take all that data from somewhere directly to a spreadsheet instead of doing it “by hand”.
I already tried to explain this in a different topic:
But @Beeschurger has his own vision, and he has right to have one. There is no point in trying to convince everyone of your views. It’s enough to just explain this, and then everyone can do what they want to do (it doesn’t matter if they ignore your opinion).
I would never count the time from loading screen to post-battle summary, but that’s me. In my opinion the important thing is the score you can gain in the time you participate in the battle. You can’t gain score during loading screens and waiting times, so you only lose accuracy with your calculations, if you include this time. It’s also much easier for everyone to just note the time played (one value instead of two). Easier and more accurate at the same time.
Additional time (personal data, like loading screens, queue waiting times, breaks etc.) could be counted separately if someone wants. But they aren’t important, if you want to compare score gains in different game modes, at different ranks, with different lineups etc. I definitely wouldn’t include any of these into my base score/time calculations.
But like I said, it doesn’t really matter. It’s @Beeschurger topic and he can calculate things however he wants.
