As I said, I don’t play Ground RB often for this specific reason.
This is just silly, I know gaijin is a business and need to make money, but why should players try to maximize their profits?
Like what you are saying is that I’m right but it would be more profitable for gaijin to not do so, so end of discution?
And It’s not like I believe this would make less money. I believe gaijin sell most of it’s premium through 2 things:
-
Skip/better grind. By purchasing a higher tier premium, you speed up your grind by at least 3 folds.
I bough most of my premiums for this very reason. I hate playing biplanes and I will do anything to skip it.
And I am interested in ww2 stuff, I don’t buy high tier premiums. I can’t imagine how many people by a top tier VII plane or tank just to grind to modern vehicles. Actually I don’t need to imagine, just check the lineup of people at top tier: at least 5/12 player have a single and only 1 premium tank.
-
Op-ness. Stuff like the F2G, Su-11, even the BI sells because they are OP and this is common knowledge. You can see on statshark a significant increase of player in whatever Defyn decide to show as a OP aircraft (In ARB).
I remenber when the Su-11 was 7.0. The following week after Defyn made this video, there was at least 2 more people playing it in the USSR team.
I know it because I had a significant increase in full uptier when I was playing the He-162 at the time.
I don’t believe for a second that frustration account for more than 5% of the sales. After all, if you don’t like a game, you don’t play it. and 1 thing for sure, you don’t spend 40$+ into it.
Why would someone who wants to play TANK spend like 70$ for a A-10 or Frogfoot
If anything (and of course I have no way to prove it until gaijin tries) I believe than a tank only gamemode would increase player count AND tank sales.

No im not saying you are right, rather pretend you are right for the argument.
Yes, which translates not beeing frustrated by the endless grind.
And if you have a TO mode, people could skip the entire SPAA line, not really in Gaijins interest i would assume.
Obviously nobody has a number, but i bet that number is way higher.
Thanks for making my point.
He at least has the potential to buy an A10 or Frogfoot.
Why would somebody who plays tank only buy any plane ?
I’m not making your point. Again, If I want to play a tank, I’ll never by a A-10, it doesn’t make sense.
Gaijn doesn’t “lose” this sale with a Tank Only mode.
Again, you are paying to skip the grind, not to play the grind:
Let’s give you an example:
I’m a fan of the M1 Abrams. I do not care in the slightest about planes, interwar, ww2, cold war tanks.
Let’s just assume no premium abrams for a moment.
Because I want to get the abram the fastest possible, I will buy the closest tank there is it too it. Probably a premium account to speed up the RB gain.
I would not waste my time buying and using a A-10, especially considering that the RP you gaijn in the A-10 will go in the AIR TREE, something I don’t care about in the slightest.
What sense does it make for me to waste my time in and money in a A-10?
I really don’t think so, there is almost no premium SPAA (I think there is none but I could miss one).
Like, gaijin doesn’t really care about you grinding the SPAA line. There is like no benefit for them.
I guess you could to play some of the Tank Destroyers pretending to be SPAA, like the ZSU-57-2.
And I told you why I think it’s lower.
Sounds like Warthunder simply isn’t the game for you.
TO would lose money.
Іf someone complaіn about somethіng, you say:
But what about your complaіnts towards SPAA, new CAS multіplіer, etc?
What іf War Thunder іsn’t for you too?)

There’s a difference between saying a few certain vehicles coughYak-9Kcough are too strong, and trying to uproot the very design core of Warthunder.
Most people are smart enough to know that.
I already explained why I wouldn’t.
And even assuming it would make less money, in 2023 alone gaijin made 75 millions. Gaijin Games Kft. short credit report, official company document download
Like, are you telling me that TO would drop the sales by 75 millions, it’s 1 million at best.
** And all of this is assuming NO ONE KEEPS PLAYING GRB**. How you are you ready to believe that GRB is so bad that no one would stay if the option to play without plane was added".

Doesn’t matter how little the drop is.thets simply no reason for Gajin to do it if it doesn’t make money.
Sure, adding another mode is somehow changing the whole design core of WT.
Adding a mode that completely goes against the whole point of a combined arms game, is infact changing the design core. That’s like adding official prop hunt to TF2.
It’s just wrong and you know why:
Air RB exist, in fact it was the first gamemode.
The idea that this game is “combined arm” is false. Ground RB is, Naval is, Air is not.
From the Steam page:
War Thunder is the most comprehensive free-to-play, cross-platform, MMO military game dedicated to aviation, armoured vehicles, and naval craft, from the early 20th century to the most advanced modern combat units. Join now and take part in major battles on land, in the air, and at sea.
War thunder core is simply to put “realistic” vehicles and have them fight in big battles.
Ground Only would be just like Air RB, it wouldn’t change anything about the “core design of the game”

Just numbers pulled out of nowhere. Let’s say it’s true. Why would they piss away a million ? Thats a lot of money.
The way I read that is that all your statement @Pangolin_Fan about the supposite balance of CAS, SPAA, and other were always lies and you knew it.
Why do you think Tank Only would be such a change for the WT gameplay otherwize?
I litteraly sourced the 75 millions but whatever.
Let’s say
is doing a lot of lifting here. I already said why I think it’s not the case and the opposite actually.
Also, from your statement “rather pretend you are right” I guess that you don’t believe than Ground Only would take 90% of players from GRB.
But as you said, let’s go with it for the sake of the argument:
Why should Gaijin piss of a million in profit?
To make the player experience better.
It’s quite obvious I think
Why should dairy company spend money to make sure the milk is not toxic? To make the customer happy.
When we “rioted” against gaijin and they changed a bunch of thing about the economy, don’t you think they believed they would loose some money from player playing for silver lions with real money?
Why did they “cave in”. Because the player asked what’s best for them.
A game company has to make money I’m not stupid I know that. But the most important thing is to give players a fun experience.
And so, as a player, I rightfull ask for gaijin to try to implement a gamemode that would be better for everyone (My opinion of course).
Literally every game mode has multiple vehicle types.
I am talking about the “a million at best”.

Nope, I literally said Air RB.
Get back with me when you can spawn a SPAA in Air RB.
Unless you mean the AI vehicles, in which case you are really grasping at straw, since you know damn well that they are, for all intent and purpose, useless. It’s decoration.
Fun picture man, what a way to ignore an argument.
I guess you were really pissed when the tobacco company were forced to include the risk of consuming tobacco on their boxes.
Apart from the real world I literally included a recent example of Gaijin themselves making change that would make less money (it’s what they believe) to please the player but whatever.
I’ll give you 1 thing, you are a lot smarter than Pangolin, tho it’s not a high bar.
Fair.
Still, how much of this profit do you believe they would lose with:
the players buying CAS plane out of frustration of being bombed in ground RB
And why did they change ? Because they feared for less profit through bad reviews hence less players.
Or you think they did it out of love ?
If the anti-CAS croud was so big, why is there no review bombing then ? Would be an easy way to get your way i guess.
