And ignoring things that have to be talked about for a TO gamemode. They tend to just assume that gaijin will “copy paste” grb without planes and it will be fine.
I would still be open to talking about adding TO if the people demanding it did stuff other than “all cas players are low iq kids who cant play tanks”, “anyone who doesnt want TO is a bad person who loves abusing people”, and “all you have to do to get kills in cas is spawn and spam the space button to magically get kills”
Not really. If a person wants to ignore the air trees altogether and play only tanks (literally), they can…it just willfully limits their ability to contribute in the mode. Still, they can go without.
Yeah…that’s where the motivation bias arises from.
People complaining about __ are more likely to be heard than people who are too busy enjoying/living with ___ to bother making a forum post, rant comment, etc.
That’s how you end up with sampling biases: the take on the situation one gleans from complaints is jaundiced…you are only seeing the complainers, not everyone.
Um, no…there’s WT players and in the GFs modes they are either ‘tankers’ or ‘tankers who fly’.
lmao, given that I have far more tank time in RB GFs than you do and respectable results with those tanks, this comment from is both humorous and peculiar.
I play my tanks fine, thank you (I don’t rely on cheesy nonsense like bushes or manipulated graphics settings either)–I just play the vehicles. :)
War Thunder is a combined arms game…this is pretty self-evident.
You wouldn’t want to, haha…if you’re upset about driving an SPAA across a RB GFs map, just wait until you try traversing a 64x64km or 128x128km map.
Naive people think player GFs in Air modes is a good idea…they don’t comprehend what it’d mean for them.
The AI vehicles do make the mode combined and they are they because the Air modes predate player GFs and because player GFs would be uninterested in play in the AF modes.
What other games are like is of no relevance here–I’m talking about WT and don’t care about those others.
So you say…TO advocates have historically suggested it wouldn’t even be that!
As it stands, any coding is exertion for the developers and tweaks would require their own work.
The burden of proof to justify a mode is upon those desiring it.
I have for many years called for TO advocates to host TO rallies as fun, proof-of-concept tests of TO to check out how it might work and to showcase what interest there is in the idea to Gaijin.
As far as I know, no one’s ever tried…
Not really…especially in the case of SPAAs, which can even target aircraft while invulnerable (thanks to spawn protection).
Aircraft are also far more vulnerable to enemy fire than you portray while also lacking the repair mechanics tanks have…protection at the airfield doesn’t really matter because, unless you get there, it’s immaterial.
Uh…the mode description shows that is all incorrect:
Spoiler
RB GFs is a shared mode which features ground and air vehicles…ergo, combined arms battles. Gameplay of the vehicles of the mode is not abuse.
Beyond that, access to aircraft is earned…only after success in battles. (As a bit of contrast, thanks to SP costs as they are, multiple ground vehicles can be used with no successes…they’re far cheaper than aircraft.)
This leaves the ‘trash players’ quip as purely bizarre…if they’re so bad, how are they A) getting the spawn points together to access aircraft in the first place, and B) beating the ‘good’ enemy team?
You baselessly derided tankers who fly…even as people like myself do fine in tanks and aircraft.
Your diatribes against WT players/tankers who fly isn’t the truth…it’s just you spewing attacks on other players for no real reason.
Toxicity like that will not gain TO any allies or achieve any progress. (On the contrary, I think that was a major reason why TO slipped in official quarters in 2019 and has stalled ever since.)
Defeatism kills more tankers than any tanker who flies.
If you want to choose to lose, that’s your business…I prefer trying to win and going from there (it’s a lot better than conceding!)
1950s era jets without all of their equipment (esp. bombing computers like LABS) face SPAAs far newer than themselves…so that’s a bit of a strange comment.
Not really…aircraft are few and far between enough that the odds of being attacked by them (as opposed to a tank) are relatively small. You can even choose to ignore the sky and can usually get away with it too (aircraft only account for ~10% of tank kills on average).
@PointyPuffin even recorded his experiences at high tiers (9.X IIRC) on this and the results mirrored this (I don’t have them in front of me, so I’ll keep it general…but they were close).
In any case…this idea that deaths to aircraft are inevitable is simply incorrect.
Since there is some talk regarding what war thunder is. I am just going to add what gaijins says it is. We can try to better discuss if they say it is combined or not.
Thats a common defense of always been this way so never make it beet attitude that prevails on here sadly. If we al had that out look then we would still have two nations and GRB or Navy
Note the experience being shared is from AB, not RB. As much as involved they are in this game, and especially the AB format, there is quite a difference between how the game works out.
This shows that if modes were added then at least 2 new modes are needed since there are both AB and RB players asking for the “same” thing.
I do not get how someone with almost no RB experience believes their AB experience counts in this thread. Air Waves in AB are completely different, as is the way AB plays out.
134 Battles is not enough to form a decent understanding of RB and be able to claim so much about said mode and players.
And yet you always ignore the question of your knowledge of a game mode you have next to NO experience with.
Your experience in AB is moot. You link above 14 kills as some example, but it is AB not RB.
You challenge players of a mode you can’t get results in at all, with ONLY 134 BATTLES.
I get your passion for the game but your words are hollow in respect to TO in RB. You complain about air in AB as I have seen you in those threads putting forward similar negatives to those just playing the intended game (two links now disproving your idea these are not combined modes). However there is an ask for AB to be TO so not sure why your efforts are here (in context of al your experiences are AB, not RB, yet you continue to muddy the two).
At least have the decency to acknowledge the empirical facts (not opinions or takes or points of view or attitude) when presented so maybe people can stop dragging those particular issues through it all as if they had not been shown in black and white from the Devs already! This being the element of “this is not a combined mode” as if you are the one with all the information correct (two screens of actual in game text do not agree with you).
Yep, jumping to Top Tiers when you have no experience of the lower game is not a great way to approach it. When I moved from AB to RB I started low again to learn how the mode works and you would probably gain from this (if you want to spend time rather than just rush ahead).
Ah, sorry, I thought you meant you had an account where you played RB. The bulk of your RB play is higher tiers and most your play is AB. This is an RB discussion, not AB (previously I pointed out issues of learning RB as an AB player by starting too high in tiers).
