Broken HUDs (+HMDs + Cockpit MFD Issues)

Hello

Reports would generally be updated directly when there is news of a fix or correction to a subject. Currently the F-16 one is under investigation. Regarding the others, when a member of the team can validate and confirm with VR, those can also reviewed.

Would be good to see a SIM/VR focused update at some point. WAY too many outstanding issues, some that have been around for quite a while

Has anyone reported a problem with frame rate dropping during dogfights and looking at the afterburner in vr?

By the way, another problem concerning VR, their number is starting to be terribly jumped. It looks bad in the context of GJ making a game typically under VR. Even the latest update doesn’t have a properly created HUD for the EF-2000 in VR.

Added labels to each report showing their status.

Also made a note of some bug reports that don’t seem to have been handled correctly being marked incorrectly as duplicates, not a bug, or fixed when the issue still persists.

F4 EJ KAI missing lead indicator from HUD (Not a Bug)
JH-7A Missing CCRP HUD Indicator(Dumb Bombs and Guided Bombs) (Not a Bug)
AMX no gun lead indicator on HUD (Duplicate of another report which has nothing to do with it.)
AMX HUD has no Target Lock box (Marked as fixed when it is not. Also the report that was mentioned in the report above as being a duplicate of.)
eurofighter cockpit texturing and lighting (Not a Bug. Is a texture bug, was fine in the dev server but broken in live. Tech mod says it’s a feature.)
Kurnass 2000 TISEO not tracking targets (Marked as fixed except it’s not.)
[DEV] Rafale FSO-IRST not tracking (Marked as fixed except it only now works for TWS hard locking, doesn’t work for any other radar lock modes or IRST locks)

forgot that radar gunsights dont actually adjust the 1st person gunsights properly

Dont forget the f15E and C, they both have issues where the HMD doesn’t overlay with the HUD in the front, there is a big blind spot (red) and it should be seamless with the nose of the aircraft.

Reports that the Typhoons, F-15’s, Su-27SM, F-16’s and JAS39’s.

To my knowledge the Rafale, Mirage 2000’s and A-10C are affected also. More aircraft like the MiG-29, J-10A, and J-8F are more than likely also affected.

Isnt this every aircraft? Fairly certain its the same on the Typhoon, Gr4 and Gripen

I haven’t had this issue with the Raphael and ef, at least not as bad as the f15.

Found some more reports on various HMD deadzones
Rafale HMD PD / HMD IR
HMD Deadzone
F-16C HMD deadzone
[DEV] J10 HMD deadzone limit has not been removed.
JAS39C - HMD deadzones in VR inconsistent by direction
Cockpit view HMD UI “deadzone” too high
A-10C HMD can’t be used when looking forward
HMD on the Rafale C F3 (and A-10C) not scaled to edges of screen

Also some VR HMD issues.
Rafale HUD and HMD incorrect boundiries and “ghosts” in VR
A-10C HMD rendering issues in VR

@Sandwich1776 , Apparently the Rafale HMD deadzone was fixed Rafale broken HMD activation boundary. Personally I haven’t noticed much of a difference.

I find it currently worst in the Kfir C.10: To rhe right HMD overlaps the HUD quite severely, and to the left you have a big gap…

Yeah the deadzones on some aircraft are really poorly done.

Yeah that’s quite bad, haven’t been able to check in VR until my headset is delivered but in flatscreen it doesn’t seem too bad on the Kfir C.10.

The Rafale is uneven too even since the bug report on it is said to be fixed. Rafale broken HMD activation boundary. It is still within the ideal zone though but they could have done it proper.

Worst offender for me is the A-10C. Practically looking over the wings for the HMD to turn on.
